Do you have any quirky control freak tendencies? As I tread towards inevitable demise, I see my OCD traits gradually gaining momentum. Scary stuff. More later.

Some couch psychology!

Sounds to me as if you have set a pattern for your life in the examples you have given and........if that pattern gets skewed you become over anxious!
Why?
Do you set the bar to high and are too hard on yourself if you fail to reach it?

I myself have patterns,I'm guessing we all do!
I cannot stand to be late ,ever and I have zero patience to those who are!
I have a place for everything and it needs to be in that place.

I have learned however with age,too many things ARE NOT in my control due to circumstances of other people!

Sometimes we just have to let go,and go with the flow!
Stress is the number one cause of many many health issues!

Learning to simply trust God with things unforeseen, and with ALL the circumstances in our lives is how I am trying to condition myself to live!

May God give us all peace and strength to live in His shadow!

Anxiety and need for control are pair.
On the polite surface we dont look like control freaks but actually deep down we need everything to go our way.
When I was a teacher I had a low tolerance for noise. Even now the sound of noisy kids triggers memories of stressful days in the classroom.

I am sorry!
That was a hard career for you then as that's exactly what kids are is " noise"!

Maybe you just need a little fun and relaxation to help you along!

I so enjoy laughter all the way to belly hurt laughing !

May the Lord put more joy and goodness in your life!

Good luck with that one, an unavoidable event to say the least, well you could look at it this way feel like winner because the first person to arrive at work got chewed out by the boss lol.

I have actual OCD but then I also have some controlling tendencies too. I want to have the last word and be right, I want people to like me, I want stuff to be done in my timeframe, and I want people to think how I think too. Fortunately right now all these tendencies are small, but I know as I age they may be more pronounced and that frightens me a little...

Not to be rude or disrespectful but couch psychology makes me nervous and asking for psychological help really should be to a professional, not a chat room. If you are looking for prayer or scriptural advice, then I am sure God can provide that through a chat room. Otherwise keep the spiritual on a spiritual plane and leave psychological diagnoses to the professionals. (25 years in the psych business with a master's in Psychology and another in Philosophy).
