However, the Bible says that basically if someone lives un-Godly but claims to be a brother, and if he won't listen, then don't even sit down and eat with such a one.
Fascinating and yet the Bible says to reach out to the lost. The Bible says the woman needs to submit does that mean the man controls her? How are we interpreting these God breathed verses?

I do love real however, why not share Gods love to someone instead of telling them to get out?
Because I tried that and it seems many people have tried before me and this guy needs the truth for his own good... and sometimes love is discipline... the Word is sometimes useful for rebuke.. open rebuke is better than hidden love... I love this brother too much to pander to him

It's good what you say mostly.... but did Jacob sin when he wrestled with the Lord?
... It's good to reason together with the Lord and he very honest with Him, but also guard our hearts to remain humble and ask for Him to help us with things we genuinely struggle with... but yes, being angry at God, resentful... keeps you from moving on.... keeps you in a pit of despair... it is impossible to please Him unless we trust Him. Sometimes things can be very hard in life and it takes time and working things out... but I realised that prayer life gets hindered if we have sin in the way which needs dealing with...when I asked Him to show me what was hindering me He did... He is faithful....
I am talking about getting angry at hearing “God is good” or hearing the Christian radio come on and you want it off or desire to change the station because you are so bitter over your circumstances. That level of anger, depression, and frustration. That is wrong because it makes God out to be a liar, it reveals yourself to be deceived. This is why the Lord would have us renew our minds to the truth of His word, that we may have His sword 🗡 as our defense.

The Bible says a lot of things and we are told to rightly divide the Word of God...
of course we reach out to the lost but this guy has known the true way and left it which is different.
And the Bible does not tell men to control their wives it says husbands love your wives as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it that He may present it to Himself without 'sin or spiritual defect ' .... big responsibility and lots of time spent together in the Word being heirs together of the grace of life. No man hated husband own flesh-so husbands wouldn't like to be controlled of course....because his head who is Christ doesn't control him so this is his example.... Christ always has his best interests at heart👌

I understand tough love... do you discipline your kids all the same?

Husbands also need to be willing to die for his wife since that’s how Christ loved the church ❤️ Indeed God is so good all the time.

I tell you this, in the waiting and longing a gratitude is formed deep inside, so that when the promise comes you are forever grateful and cherish every moment. You praise God for His providence.
A thankful heart changes us

One thing about praise, especially for the things the Lord has promised you individually or to every believer, is that as you praise faith and expectation take root in your heart. You actually believe, and that expression only solidifies it.

What do you mean?

I just think that if someone is going to undermine Christianity on a Christian forum for a long time, then it's better to 'snatch some back from the fire as it where' like the scripture says... because this guy has allowed his bitterness against God to draw him away from the path and he is in a dangerous place if you read his posts... So rather than try to tear down Christianity why not get real while there is time?

In fact this guy was a Christian. Of course non Christians are invited to church. However, the Bible says that basically if someone lives un-Godly but claims to be a brother, and if he won't listen, then don't even sit down and eat with such a one.
You know that verse about judge not lest ye be judged, it's overused but I think it applies here. Some of us here have known Subhumanoidal online for years and the idea that he is even attempting to undermine Christianity or living an ungodly life by being real about his struggles and tfeeling rejected by God is a picture of exactly why most people don't want to go to church.

All he said was
My situations have been spiraling into worse and worse things my entire life. I sometimes wish to go back to the times when I was homeless as that time seemed better than now.

Also I came to discover, after 30 years of being a Christian, I am not predestined to be saved, therefore following God is something that does not seem worthwhile. So I have learnt trusting God is often more dangerous.

And I think that a faith based on the Bible, really should reflect it more. This is the Bible that contains Psalm 13, the book of Job, Saul, Esau, and even Cain in this situation where he's angry because God has rejected his offering but offers him counsel which Cain rejects, but when Cain is deserving to be hunted down and killed like the murderer he is, well this same God who rejected his offering, protects his life. And of course then there's the flip side of David who was chosen by God, then spent years in hiding because of a king's jealousy; Elijah and Jeremiah who were called by God to bring unpleasant messages to kings who didn't want to hear it. Oh and let's not forget Jeremiah's rather famous lament, “Lord you misled me, and I allowed myself to be misled” (see Jer 20).

So Biblically, sounds like Sub is in some pretty good company. I don't think he's right about everything. I'm hoping and praying that God still brings some good and a massive turn around in his life. But I also sometimes wonder, if I was facing everything he's facing would I still care about anyone else at all. Could I still stand to be around Christian people? I'm pretty sure God understands the pain and the struggle even if it's not welcome in our churches. I'm just not sure how much we should still be claiming to be a true witness of God's character is we're not displaying the same kindness and mercy that came to seek and to save sinners, rather than drive them out of our space so they don't threaten our faith.

I know it seems a little bit of an insensitive question, but be honest. I’m sure there are some of us whom God has given the single life for a purpose. It may not be forever, but maybe God has made you content where you are now. What about you?

Personally I can say I’m probably more neutral about it. Not that I “don’t care,” but I don’t think I’m desperate for a relationship, nor am I despairing. It would be wonderful to find a boyfriend/husband of course, but it’s not like my next life plan step to put my time into it you know? I want that evolution from friendship to be natural.
I don't enjoy being single. It's hard to date in my opinion. I'm single and the only reason I don't mind is because work and my hobbies make me not think about it so much. I'll be 30 next year though and I wonder if I'll meet someone and have children.

I can relate. I'm kept busy with work, school and hobbies, so I don't think about it much. That said, I have my moments of loneliness and longing and my moments of appreciation for freedom, quiet and spontaneity. Most of the time, I'm neutral towards being single.

What faith?
I didn't claim to be right about everything, and I have been praying for him too; but it is the truth that sets us free... he said he has stopped praying a long time ago... what if something happened to him tomorrow? You would probably wish you had said more truth to him....we all face trials but if we don't trust God with the difficult stuff we are floored...I know it's hard but it isn't going to get any easier for us if we stop praying and get so bitter against God that it takes root... God wants him to turn to Him and surrender -he is being deceived

Seems like the years are moving faster and faster for me. At times it would be nice to meet someone being alone is hard. I just wonder at times if its to late for to meet that right person or God has other plans for my life.
