Images of Jesus

I think its good to focus upon the person of Jesus Christ, not so much an image because they can be vain at times and not promote what is sound, especially the pictures of Jesus as a white hippy dude, with long hair and soft hands... that's not Jesus, that's a white dude with long hair. (the catholic Jesus).

Those who like these images, are usually into some form of idolatry, because that's why they have them, its a projection of there idol, they want this Jesus, a nice kind person, too bad Jesus ain't just kind and meek, but also strong, fearsome and offensive at the same time, a consuming fire, a righteous person who hates wickedness (Hebrews 1:8-9).

Jesus had dark skin, probably looked ordinary and uglyish:
Isaiah 53:2 He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

I think about that statement there from Isaiah, Jesus would have looked very ordinary and uglyish to most people, thats a pretty strong verse about Jesus in his humanity, you can't get around it, its the word of God.

I think it may be diversions from the real sickening things in this world I could be wrong but I don’t know.

It's not idolatry if the observers' attention and intention are being paid to spirit of the person being depicted. If what was being attended to was the photo or painting itself, then you are wading into idolatry.

This is why you will see Orthodox churches adorned in representations of Jesus and Saints but they are there for the Priest and worshippers to focus their attention to the spirit of those depicted.

This is really the only photo of Jesus I ever post consistently and it serves a purpose as a deflection of demons

I wouldn't have a picture of Jesus hanging around, but if someone does I will not get mad.

I know people who have seen Jesus and the whites say He was white and the blacks said He was black.

Nobody alive has seen Jesus, regardless of any and all that believe they have.....and the ONLY ACCURATE descriptions of Jesus are found in Isaiah 53 when he was a man and Now in Revelation As GOD on his throne......if their descriptions do not match that, they are full of it!

It isn't an idol nor a graven image, that which is pictures or art depicting an artists rendering of the Spirit that is God in Jesus.

Such doesn't even fit the criteria of idol worship. Bibles have pictures of the patriarchs, and Jesus. Are those offending God? No. It comes down to a personal opinion. I don't think people are entitled to condemn anyone for favoring images of Jesus, the ark, Eden, or other historic depictions from the Bible. We're in a relationship. If we find peace and enjoy such images, so be it. Those that don't do not have them in their home or elsewhere. It is really as simple as that.

I am surprised the spirit of lies Satan was typified by flesh and blood(the temporal things seen) at all. Simply a way adding drama. Mel Gibson style .

I am not saying there was no blood as part of the demonstration of the unseen work . But Catholicism would seem as what you support. . . looking to the things seen the temporal, as if they were the eternal unseen . And the kingdom of God does come by observation. Which it clearly does not

God the one good master or Lord, is the Spirit of truth .No such thing as flesh of truth. . God is not man as us .

He refuses to be recognized as if he was a man and therefore would not stand in the holy unseen place of the Father as a abomination of desolation .

For instance, Jesus said his flesh as to what the eyes see profits for nothing, zero . But rather it is the unseen Spirit of Christ through the incorruptible seed of His living word that works in us. The unseen work alone can profit.

Those who appose the unseen work say flesh profited for everything and was not simply a demonstration of the unseen lamb of God who was slain as a Lamb form the foundation of the world .

Taking a opposite stance.. . .More blood and flesh . . .takes away the spiritual unseen understanding.

Blood guts and gore does make good Hollywood stuff that does appeal to the lust of the flesh.

Every picture, Jesus has long hair. Why? Do we really think Jesus had long hair? He was not under the Nazarite vow.
