Health, Wealth & Prosperity

My wife believes that Health is Wealth. A person would give all of their wealth in order to have good health. The question centers more on prosperity and how do we define Bible Prosperity. Even the NIV wants to use this word in Jeremiah 29:16 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We are told in Psalm 139:16 that God writes the book of our life before we are even born. Every chapter and every verse. So that God's desire for us is written in a book that the Angels can read to help us to become the person God wants and intends for us to be. Does God want us to prosper and to be in good health? How can we understand Moses when he tells us that God's desire is for us to prosper? Again this is the NIV word because the KJV says: "See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;" Perhaps like Eve in the Garden we choose between good and evil in life.

"But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster. For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess" (Deuteronomy 30:14,15,16)

Is there anything more destructive to someone who is on the streets than being labeled as 'ignorant' and 'unstable' ?

The version of bible you are referencing Deuteronomy from has an uncertain sound.

Those Health, Wealth, Prosperity guys are simply false teachers.

It is not our job to separate the wheat from the chaff. That is up to the angels at the end of the era. "‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’” (Matthew 13:29,30) I have attended churches like that but I am often under a gag order. I am told just to sit there and listen and keep my mouth shut. They do not like the questions that I ask. They do not like people to point out the error in what they are saying. Even though we are told: "reprove a wise man, and he will love you." (Proverb9:8)

False teachers and charlatans.

The promises to Israel were typological. They were a weaker type of the reality.

It isn't long life in the land that God promises the believer; it is eternal life in the New Heavens/New Earth.

Dispensationalists might not like my interpretation as they claim such things are "spiritualizing" but it's obvious it's true.

The believer who suffers in hope from cerebral palsy, etcetera, is preparing for a greater weight of glory. Same for any other believer who suffers in hope.

I would read Hebrews 11, James 1, etcetera.

Those Health, Wealth, Prosperity guys are simply false teachers. And, if they don't repent, they will suffer eternal punishment.

I suppose it's easy for some religious nuts to accuse others of being false teachers, and the like, without any scriptural proof.
I prefer to use the scriptures in the bible to speak truth.
You on the other hand have used nothing in the bible to argue your point.
