Is there only one true version of the Bible?

They are not all copies of the original "autographs".

I suggest you try copying a Bible manuscript on a papyrus scroll, in a drafty, poorly-lit room, with poor tools (by today's standards), and without coffee. Let's start with a majiscule (all caps and no spaces or punctuation). I'll grant you good eyesight (which probably was not that common) and knowledge of about half of the language.

If you had done much reading on the subject, you would know the answer to your question. :)

Yes I know his name. I am making the point that Carl Sagan is a descendant of the Sargon that we read about in the Bible. From the Sumerian and Assyrian people. They are NOT semitic people even though they lived side by side with the Semitic people in Ancient Mesopotamia. I assume that was your point that Sagan was not Semitic. What you are questioning is the cosmos program which is a PBS program. Is it science you have a problem with or just the PBS version of Science? Is it just PBS you have a problem with or the whole public education system?

Been there, seen it, done it. Back before the computer we had drafting boards and we had to do everything with a pencil and paper.

Dino was making the point that all of those contradictory fragments and corrupt copies are to be the standard by which we judge whether a translation is correct or not.

I have a problem with an "education" system that does not educate, but instead inculcates, indoctrinates, brainwashes, and treats children like parts on an assembly line.

I did a little manual drafting in my teens and early 20's, when CAD was just becoming a thing. I'm glad I learned to draw the old way, but I would not have enjoyed having to do it.

Muslims attack any and every translation of The Bible.
They deny the ESV and the RSV as vigorously as they deny the KJV. They deny the truths that every bible translation declares.

The fact of the matter is that we do not have the original manuscripts (which is God's "perfect" words).

To pretend we have God's "perfect" words when we do not it to make a lie!

We do have very trustworthy translations (including the KJV) that give us God's Word 99%+ free of error.
