If all the copies are actual copies of the originals, then why do they differ from one another?
They are not all copies of the original "autographs".

I suggest you try copying a Bible manuscript on a papyrus scroll, in a drafty, poorly-lit room, with poor tools (by today's standards), and without coffee. Let's start with a majiscule (all caps and no spaces or punctuation). I'll grant you good eyesight (which probably was not that common) and knowledge of about half of the language.

If you had done much reading on the subject, you would know the answer to your question. :)

There is going to be variations in the spelling. The Bible actually uses Sargon so I went with the spelling so we could see who we were talking about.
Seriously? The man's name is Carl Sagan. You could have checked, since you have the book there!

Yes I know his name. I am making the point that Carl Sagan is a descendant of the Sargon that we read about in the Bible. From the Sumerian and Assyrian people. They are NOT semitic people even though they lived side by side with the Semitic people in Ancient Mesopotamia. I assume that was your point that Sagan was not Semitic. What you are questioning is the cosmos program which is a PBS program. Is it science you have a problem with or just the PBS version of Science? Is it just PBS you have a problem with or the whole public education system?

Been there, seen it, done it. Back before the computer we had drafting boards and we had to do everything with a pencil and paper.

Dino was making the point that all of those contradictory fragments and corrupt copies are to be the standard by which we judge whether a translation is correct or not.

I made no reference at all to anyone's ethnicity. Perhaps next time, you could make your point clearly and with context.

Yes; I watched the entire original series when it first came out.

Is it science you have a problem with or just the PBS version of Science?
Neither; I have a problem with antitheistic hypotheses being presented as science.

Is it just PBS you have a problem with or the whole public education system?
I have a problem with an "education" system that does not educate, but instead inculcates, indoctrinates, brainwashes, and treats children like parts on an assembly line.

Fallacy: strawman.

You had coffee, I presume. That makes it all better. ;)

Are you now saying that copies of the original languages aren’t the standard?
Please don't play "Are you saying" with me. Read what I wrote, in the context in which I wrote it, and respond to that.

That was about it. They did not hand out the prescription drugs back then they way they do now.
I did a little manual drafting in my teens and early 20's, when CAD was just becoming a thing. I'm glad I learned to draw the old way, but I would not have enjoyed having to do it.

Muslims attack the true Bible. But deluded lower critics also attack the true Bible. And that is how we ended up with a score of false bibles. And that has given Muslims a greater opportunity to attack the true Bible.

What you (and others) should be doing is carefully researching the origin of the modern bible version issue. Which you obviously have not done. Do you know that the Higher Critics were up to? And do you know what the Lower Critics were up to? It is so-called Christian scholars who attacked the Bible more vigorously than any Muslim.
More vigorously than Muslims? Really? Did they use bible pages for toilet paper?

Muslims attack any and every translation of The Bible.
They deny the ESV and the RSV as vigorously as they deny the KJV. They deny the truths that every bible translation declares.

...To preserve God’s pure words that He commanded us to live by.

If we don’t have God’s preserved perfect words, how can God hold us accountable to obey His words? Hmmmmmmm
The fact of the matter is that we do not have the original manuscripts (which is God's "perfect" words).

To pretend we have God's "perfect" words when we do not it to make a lie!

We do have very trustworthy translations (including the KJV) that give us God's Word 99%+ free of error.

There are many translations and revised versions of Bible’s(NIV, Amplified, King James, Living Translation, AS). Did any of these lose essential Biblical meanings and teachings via the translation process? If so, which ones? If true, should those versions be avoided by Believers?
Wow, what a topic, and what ingenuity!;)
