TULIP and Calvinism are one and the same according to their own web sites.

It began within the theological faculty of a Dutch institution that was committed to Calvinistic teaching. Link

In 1618, the Calvinists of the Dutch Reformed Church convened the Synod of Dort in order to condemn the Arminians and their five points. Dort's "five heads" of doctrine were later rearranged under the acronym TULIP. Link

Is what they teach biblical? If it’s not....then it’s false......can you show me where they teaches from the pit of hell? Scripture please?
Any gospel which is NOT the true Gospel of God is ultimately from Satan (who belongs to the pit of Hell, since Hell was created for the devil and his angels).

It is extremely unfortunate that Reformed Theology came up with ANOTHER GOSPEL (when the Reformers had every reason to have the true Gospel). And here is the evidence from the Westminster Confession of Faith. Every Calvinist must subscribe to this in order to call himself or herself a Reformed Christian.

WESTMINSTER CONFESSION OF FAITH
CHAPTER III Of God's Eternal Decree

III. By the decree of God, for the manifestation of His glory, some men and angels 70 are predestinated unto everlasting life; and others foreordained to everlasting death.71 IV. These angels and men, thus predestinated, and foreordained, are particularly and unchangeably designed, and their number so certain and definite, that it cannot be either increased or diminished.72

VII. The rest of mankind God was pleased, according to the unsearchable counsel of His own will, whereby He extends or withholds mercy, as He pleases, for the glory of His sovereign power over His creatures, to pass by; and to ordain them to dishonor and wrath for their sin, to the praised of His glorious justice. 80

What are these two sections teaching? That some men are PREDESTINED to receive eternal life and "the rest of mankind" is created for eternal damnation ("everlasting death"). And if that is not from the pit of Hell, then you really do not understand the Gospel.

Jesus, the apostles, and the Bible itself TOTALLY REFUTES this garbage. Here are just a few Scriptures which reveal that God offers salvation to all mankind.

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (Isa 45:22)

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isa 55:1)

And He [CHRIST] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mk 16:15,16)

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die. (Jn 12:32)

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Tim 2:3-6)

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. (Heb 2:9)

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Pet 3:9)

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev 22:17)

I am a very simple person,I live a simple life...I was chosen by God,I found his Love irresistible when I received him into my spirit.
I can’t speak for others only myself...
There is nothing complicated in what the Lord blessed me with...why do some men/woman make his word sound so complicated when it isn’t.
I have been called to Love..bear fruit...and follow Jesus daily and grow in the Lord....nothing complicated in that.oh and be obedient to him.
I’m extremely secure in my faith!

I don't think that is necessarily the fault of the reader either. I didn't know that until I went digging. I also learned that not all who call themself Calvinist believe in point # 5, These are called 4 point Calvinism apparently.
Thanks for sharing that. I didn't know there were four point Calvinists. I read what I mentioned earlier. Synod of Dort and all the rest.
Forgive me but, what a bunch of contradictory malarkey. Talk about Elitist bunk! The whole thing is just insulting to God and Jesus. God predestined everything! All of it unto minutia.
And the TULIP thing is like a scaffold of contradiction. First God makes me to be totally depraved. What a testament to a benevolent creator that isn't. Then, when God is ready, he will let me find my way to his good news that isn't all that good for those it wasn't meant for. John 3:16? Oh, perish the thought. Then he makes me to not be totally depraved anymore so that I can comprehend what the good news means to me personally by his choice alone. Then I am securely saved no matter what I do.

Because everything up to that point was window dressing. There I am being walked about like a puppet having been depraved totally before by God and then when God was ready, was made to be open to his good news that I'm one of the special ones he'll save from the fate others are sure to suffer.
Because the reason all that happened to me by God's will is because God picked me to be saved before the beginning of anything at all.

Which makes no sense. None in the least. Because when God saved me before even sin came to exist because the world didn't yet exist, why did the fall have to happen, why did Jesus have to die, why were the Apostles told to spread the Gospel to all the world because God wished none should perish, when before anything existed at all God pre selected souls he would send to an earth not yet created, to save from a sin that didn't yet exist.
When it is all God all the time, why do we have to do anything at all? Why would God send himself to die to fulfill what he had already predetermined to happen all by himself?

Another thing. If God is so great and all these positive attributes, why would he create from himself the human species to be totally depraved first? And then saves a certain allotment of us from the fate he predetermined for everyone, good or bad, that the saved ones believe in him and the unsaved ones perish because he made it so. They never once stood a chance. Nor does the world with the totally depraved living in it.
And furthermore, since it is all God doing this, why?
Why does God need to delude himself that people believe in him when if it wasn't for him making them able to do that, they wouldn't. Because he made them totally incapable of being good first.

I'm rambling but once I got started it just flowed out. None of it makes God look good.
Who would live their life believing they're one of them? The one's God pre decided worthy of saving? And too, since we're all totally depraved, how do we know if we think we're one of them that we are? When we're totally depraved thinking we're God's special one could just be a co-factor of our egocentric malignant narcissist totally depraved human nature.

I enter into the fray with reservations.

It is interesting how you choose, yes CHOOSE, to create some sort of narrative wherein God blessed you in a manner apart from what most would state is common to those in Christ.

You do not have any calling Christ has never given to another; emphasis on YOUR calling is of your own making IMO.

Yet the most interesting observation would be the fact you totally deflect from the conversation and instead commend yourself.

You do this often. No reflection on any other poster here.

Tell you the truth, after getting all that off my chest and after making myself read all that stuff about that Dort bunch and the rest, I just want to stand in my den and pull my hair and scream as loud as I can. WHO BELIEVES THIS BULL............? Much less dedicates their life looking down their nose at people they're sure are pre selected to burn for eternity!

Talk about elitist tripe! What the Hell?
And first and foremost, what an insulting wrapper to put around God. Compared to that profile of the elitists, Satan not only looks like a pawn, that isn't even close to being as pre meditative, but Adam and Eve were set up!

Beyond Totally Depraved but >>>>> Total Inability. A person is incapable of believing unless regenerated by God first and then they are saved.

Scripture however does support that the plan of salvation was before the foundation of the world

Revelation 13:8 “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

I don't imbibe coffee nor alcohol. Too, I look at it in a Godly perspective. After God's anger fell on Sodom and Gomorrah, the world through the great flood, and lots of other explosions of his wrath, my being fired up about something , even in prayer, pales in comparison.
And for the Calvinist reader, hey, he made me that way, so deal with it.

God drew me to him and chose me...sorry it upsets you....

No commending myself....all the Glory goes to God.

To Love to bear the fruit of the spirit is from God.

Emphasis is on God calling me.

Your response is actually passive aggressive. I will explain why. When you write 'sorry it upsets you', you are wielding an untruth as a weapon rather than stating the obvious truth which you fail to see. What would that be? We are all saved only by Christ and not of ourselves, and this somehow does not settle well with you it would seem.

Further along those lines, you stating you are secure in your faith and then throwing 'are you' at me, is anything but fruit of the Holy Spirit.

There is nothing you have that God has not done the same for others. The Bible is very informative along those lines.

My post to you has nothing to do with the op. It has to do with your suggestions others are passive aggressive when you display the same. I thought you might want to correct that.

smh

You are “telling “ me why I’m passive aggressive...haaaaa,that is funny.

I asked you innocently if you are secure in your faith..nothing to do with my fruit.
Did I say that I have more than others from the Lord?

Being saved by Christ the same as everyone else doesn’t sit nicely with me....an assumption from you not truth.
I Love to Praise my Father In Heaven and will continue to do so.

Revelation 22:16-17 :)
I imagine the five points of pre salvation peoples have an explanation as to how those wonderful Bible images comport with their beliefs.
People for as many centuries as it has existed have twisted the Bible like a pretzel to have it mean what they need to believe about themselves,
