I have been away for a while and so far I have seen page 55 & would like to refer to the erroneous assumption that the Word in Jn 1:1 and some of the subsequent verses supposedly prove that Jesus is God.

Well, let me say first, that neither Jesus nor the NT writers said anything new nor contrary. As the matter of fact, they kept pointing to the prophets like Jesus did explaining what to be Son of God really means:

Joh 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods (θεός theos)?
Joh 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Likewise, John didn't speak about the Word out of the blue (Jesus is never referred to as the "Word" but we are told that God sent His Word to the Jews through Jesus) but clearly referred to the prophets:

1. The Word:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

2. The creation:
Psa 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psa 33:9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

3. The genesis of Jesus:
2Sa 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
2Sa 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
2Sa 7:14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son....

Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Therefore, the NT writers record fulfillment of the prophecies. They state that God has done it and they are witnesses.

Further, the new theology had to be developed since the pagan styled Trinity God had been forced upon Christianity.

Therefore, some verses have been miss-translated to account for the new theology.
As the matter of fact, Catholics admit that Jerome (was committed to make new translation after the Trinity God theology had to be adopted) made some mistakes like in Jn 1:1.

So, dear Brothers in Christ. Please be mindful when you reject hundreds of fool proof verses stating that the Father is the only "one" - "true" God for few clearly contradicting Trini-tarian or duo-tarian ones.

Be aware of the consequences:

Joh 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Joh 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

So now you know what hearing Jesus' words and rejecting them really means.

God bless

There is no *erroneous assumption* in believing (1) that the Gospel of John was divinely inspired, (2) that God caused John to say that "the Word was God", and (3) that is sufficient in itself to establish that Jesus is indeed God.

There was no mistranslation, misunderstanding, or misdirection here. It is the Jehovah's Witnesses who have tried to deceive their adherents into thinking that Jesus is "a god" rather than Almighty God. But unless you believe that He is "I AM" (Yahweh or Jehovah), you will die in your sins.

There are many other Scriptures that reveal that Jesus is God (both in the Old and New Testaments) but it would be of no profit to one who believes as you do. Those who are wilfully blind and eventually blinded by God.

Hi, I am new here.

I have seen only few of the arguments in this topic.

However, it is seldom that I come across such a clear Bible verses stating beyond any doubt as in the Jerzy's post 1421 just above.

I am not a JW and hate to see attacks staged against anyone quoting clear verses from the Word of God.

Another way, what God said is HOLY and anyone not comfortable with this TRUTH must have another agenda.

Jerzy didn't express his own (or anybody else's) believe or opinion but only quoted from the Word of God, didn't he Nehemiah6?

So Nehemiah6, do you find such verses like in Jerzy's post above, offensive?

Anyway, why would anyone find God's Word offensive to the point of banning (I just noticed that Jerzy was banned) for quoting from IT?

The question is why was he banned?

If quoting from the Word of God makes one banned from this forum than let me quote as well and see who and how quickly is going to ban me:

I consider myself to be the “babe” because I believe in all what God says.

Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

So who is going to say that what Jerzy quoted above are lies?

Please have guts to come forward!!!

Hebrews 1 -

7 And indeed as to the angels He says:

“The One making His angels winds,
and His ministers a flame of fire.”

8 But unto the Son:

Your throne, O God, is to the age of the age,
and the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and have hated wickedness;
because of this, God, Your God,
has anointed You with the oil of exultation
above Your companions.”

10 And:

“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are works of Your hands.
11 They will perish but You remain;
and all will grow old like a garment;
12 and like a robe You will roll them up,
and like a garment they will be changed;
but You are the same,
and Your years will never end.”

13 Now to which of the angels did He ever say:

“Sit at My right hand,
until I may place Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet”?

1 Timothy 3:16 says:
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh....[/QUOTE

It clearly says that God was manifested in flesh for nobody can see God. It doesn't say that God manifested Himself while in flesh, does it?

True, God was manifested through/by Jesus, was He not?:

Act 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.

Question:

Did "God" Jesus manifest himself as God or did God the Father manifest Himself through/by Jesus?

I have seen here posts stating that Jesus was 100% God and 100 % man.

Question:

Who said that????

Well, I am asking for a verse in the Word of God stating this or, otherwise, for a sincere Christians to refrain from posting & immediate retraction of such non-Biblical man made stories.

Hebrews 1 -

8 But unto the Son:

Your throne, O God....

Didn't Jesus refer to the Israelites as "Gods" (Theos) refering to Ps 82:6 in Jn 10:34?

is to the age of the age,
and the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and have hated wickedness;
because of this, God, Your God,

So clearly Jesus has God.

has anointed You

God anointed Jesus

with the oil of exultation
above Your companions.”

Above his companions.

Question;

Who were Jesus' companions? Not the Israelites?

It shows that people quote verses without even considering their context & negating what they think they are proving.

The word was God. It as it is written worked in the Son on man Jesus the prophet apostle do both will and empower the Son of man to perform His good pleasure .The Son of man did not do the will of the corrupted flesh .he said it prfits for zero. The father worked with him to finish the work of two. Jesus did it without murmuring .Jonas murmured and wanted to die .No power coming from dead flesh sufferings the temporal wage of sin.

Another question is how the very next day a "new" member appears, comes directly here, and immediately starts fussing about someone he supposedly has no connection to or has ever even heard of.

Denying the divinity of Christ is heresy. It's in the TOS of the website. It is one thing to have trouble reconciling the humanity and divinity of the LORD: this is the mystery kept hidden from angels and prophets alike for ages. But if you think Christ was merely a man, you are not a Christian, and if you teach that here, you're teaching heresy, and in conflict with the terms of service you agreed to when you signed up.

I am not a JW and hate to see attacks staged against anyone quoting clear verses from the Word of God.
Here is how Jerzy started out:
"I have been away for a while and so far I have seen page 55 & would like to refer to the erroneous assumption that the Word in Jn 1:1 and some of the subsequent verses supposedly prove that Jesus is God."

So let's look at John 1:1 (KJV): In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Now is that an "erroneous" assumption or is it God's truth? Is that "supposed proof" or " actual proof"?

So all the verses he quoted after that were being (1) misunderstood, (2) misinterpreted, or (3) misapplied.

If Jerzy got banned, it was for a good reason. You can take that up with the moderators, but he came on board pushing the heresy of the cults.

they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
(John 4:42)
Christ is "the Saviour"

I, even I, am YHWH, and there is no Savior besides Me
(Isaiah 43:11)
This is the question:

Did Jesus, being God himself saved the world or did the Father the only true God prepare the Lamb for the salvation?

1. Jesus clearly and repeatedly says that he has God, that his God is our God, that the Father is the only true God.
2. Jesus says that his followers should pray to the Father.
3. Jesus says that he is the way to the Father.
4. The NT writers open their epistles with thank giving to God our Father and to our Lord Jesus Christ. They never mention the HS in their thanks givings.
5. Paul says that God is the head of Jesus 1Cor 11:3.
6. Paul says that "for us there is one God, the Father" 1Cor 8:6

Therefore, the Father is the only true God. Whatever verses have been brought forward as proof of the Trinity God are false, namely because the word trinity doesn't even appear in the entire Bible and man is forbidden adding to God's Word.

As Jerzy said above, the word of Jn 1:1 in no way proves that Jesus is the Word (which not who) is God. John merely states that the Word of God by which we know God ( no man has seen God) was the Word by which God foretold how He was going to bring to life the savior. John further declares that they are witnesses to fulfillment of God's prophecy.

2Sa 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Act 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Denying the divinity of Christ is heresy.
It is not in the Bible.

Therefore, changing the Word of God by man is heresy. It began in 325 and ended in 381 by pagan ruler's orders.

Now, can you show at list the word trinity in the Bible?

Certainly not?

Am I not correct, posthuman?

So let's look at John 1:1 (KJV): In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Since John must have referred to the OT "Word" so all you need to do now, Nehemiah6 is to show verses in the OT that Jesus was called the Word.

Good luck brother.

I am surprised at the non-Christian way some Christians treat the Word of God and people quoting from It on this forum.

It is shocking. They say that rejecting man-made stories is heresy but rejecting God's Word is HOLY.
