Not quite . 1 John 3:4
King James Version
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
You rail against Calvinists for taking Scripture out of context, yet here you do it. Does 1 John 3:4 negate Romans 5? Or is the Bible wrong in saying that sin entered the world before the law?

What if Jesus took the law out of the way, nailing it to the cross ? Colossians 2:14
King James Version
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
eph 2
15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

The removal of the Sinai covenant has little to do with this discussion. The law serves for our benefit bringing consciousness of sin, but sin entered the world without the law. If sin is merely a transgression of the law, how could it exist before the law?

Idk. I could be off, but it seems throughfaith doesn't really have a solid foundation as to what throughfaith really, truly believes (about a lot of things). Not that that is necessarily an evil thing. throughfaith is trying to figure things out, but has to do a little more study and research and meditation before commenting. It will do you good, bud!!! Your comments could be great! You have potential. I pray you a little enlightenment. Even in spite of what you believe you already have. Please accept it with humility. Love ya, dude. Peace.

Again .4¶Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
The answer to what sin is what the bible says it is . What is sin? for sin is the transgression of the law.
there's no way round that .

Idk. Maybe where you're going wrong is where you're bringing up an argument when you don't really have an answer to your argument. Choose your battles.

Keep in mind that others may have to scroll through pages to find what you already quoted. Just makes things easier to mention the book/chapter/verse when you quote the verse. It's just easier.

That doesn't address my point in the least and is nothing but obfuscation. Sin is indeed the transgression of the law, but it is not only the transgression of the law. Otherwise God's law was the issue, rather than human sin which is absolutely not the teaching of the Bible. Sin is repeatedly linked with unbelief, and unbelief is sin. The law merely gives account of sin and brings us to knowledge of sin, sin is not sin because it transgresses the law but it transgresses the law because it is sin.

You yourself admit you're "off from systematic theology." I'm not gonna go searching through all your posts. I'm not gonna get into it. Just think about that. (btw Jesus had favor with people. Luke 2:52)

Yes, exactly. There is no consciousness of guilt unless there is a law. That's exactly why at the cross the law made sin fully sinful, rather than recognizing in it their own faults men turned it into a cudgel and cut and tore at each other until so blinded by their own evil they used the law to condemn the guiltless.
