lol,,just wait till you get old. I always worked on all of my own cars "until I got too old" the last few times I went to one garage and then to the next trying to find an "good honest mechanic" that wont cheat my wife when I die but so far I've had to re-do/fix everything they did. I hope everyone's not this way and maybe I should have began looking sooner for this but it sure makes a difference to them what they say if they realize I could fix it verses if I don't act like I know anything.
Foreign cars are a pain in the but had to change head gasket on Honda crv but saved me probably over $1000. They make everything difficult to get to so you don't want to work on them.

Yep they put every hurdle they can to stop you from working on them. My son has a Ford Fusion Hybrid it don't have a starter or alternator and it was doing something different every time you drove it. The dash instruments were incorrect one time then if it sat a couple of hours it wouldn't start. If you jumped it it didn't know how much fuel it had and the locks/key wouldn't work. What we finally figured out is that the battery under the hood only stores the memory so if it was bad it wipes it out when it sits. Its like the battery in the bios utility in a computer(saves the memory settings) but the high voltage battery under the seat runs the car. changed the battery(only Ford sells it) and never had another problem(was my first hybrid,lol)...

The argument that it has ceased is straightforward, with the necessary scripture:
  1. Signs are for the nation Israel. (Exodus 4, Psalms 74:9, Judges 6:13)
  2. The Messiah was promised to Israel and prophecy stated that he will perform many signs and wonders to prove his identity (Luke 7:20-23)
  3. When Jesus appeared, he performed all the necessary signs to testify to the nation Israel (John 20:30-21, Acts 2:22, Hebrews 2:4)
  4. Despite the numerous signs, Israel rejected him by putting him on the cross. (Luke 20:14, Acts 2:36)
  5. God gave Israel a one year extension as God's favored nation (Luke 13:8-9, Acts 3:26), by sending the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, who performed numerous signs and wonders again in Acts 2-7, in a final attempt to convince Israel to repent of murdering the Messiah and be converted (Acts 3:19-21).
  6. Israel rejected the Holy Spirit by their leaders stoning Stephen (Acts 7)
  7. Israel the nation fell and now salvation has been released to the gentiles thru their fall, as God has planned since the foundation of the world (Romans 11:11)
  8. Paul was given signs and wonders temporary to alert Israel of the change in dispensation (Acts 15:12)
  9. By the time Acts 28 arrived, even the diaspora of Israel has rejected Jesus (Acts 28:28).
  10. Signs and wonders have completely ceased at Acts 28.
Any comments and different perspectives?
I personally know the sign of speaking in tongues is alive and well today, a sign to those that don't believe (y)

Mark 16:17KJV
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

1 Corinthians 14:22KJV
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Trying to fix them is a mistake to begin with. I quit being a professional mechanic because cars now days are built to be replaced like butane lighters. I cold buy a rebuilt crate engine for less with a warrantee for less than it costs to rebuild one correctly.

lol, I got a 1970 F100 with a NP granny 4 spd. that I've been driving about 25 years now. Every time I get it inspected the guy tries to buy it and I'm way to old to drive it anymore so maybe I will this time. I cranked it up this morning and thought about it because the last time I had it legal was 2014,(sticker on windshield) I crank it up and drive it to the end of the driveway and then back it back up. It's not all fancy or nothing but I still get a kick out of driving it from the house to the road and back, lol

I don't think the sign and wonder Ende d in act 28

To me the why the Lord talk to John in The book of revelation was sign and wonder, not natural.
And that was after act 28

I used to be a muscle car fanatic. Esp. Buick GS 400 - 455's and 383 - 440 mopars' They'll pass everything except a gas station. Now Golf GTI & Subaru WRXI turbos will leave them in the dust, stop better and save gas too.
We sound like a couple of old men waking nostalgic for vinyl & 8 tracks. They're not comming back.

Yea not never,,, I've had everything from a 56 rocket 88 2 door coup to a 66 Malibu(and ran dirt track cars) and they all dank gas. My truck has a 360 with points dizzy and the best I can get is 11mpg(no camper) or 12mpg with a bramah camper shell on it. I didn't like the new stuff at first because I didn't know how to fix them but it really was a big improvement after I understood it more. Your right it's not coming back.

Yeah, I remember working on the oldies 283, 350, chevys, rebuilt a few myself, easy!

Open the hood and empty space, points, condenser, clean the old plugs and that was a tune up (y)

Vintage 60's-70's easy to work on, no smog, basic

Now a mechanic needs to have a $50,000 tool box, full of tester's, special wrenches and sockets, etc

Just to lift the hood on a car in Calif, scary all the vacuum lines, electronics, and no room to work

On such a basic issue? Plenty of pagans spoke Greek back in the day, too. Do you ask your mechanic for a doctrinal statement?
If it's so basic why consult a third party?

I do want to know if my mechanic is honest.

What you are doing is heaping teachers with itching ears unto yourself.

You sure have demonstrated that you have a hair trigger when it comes to insulting other's spirituality. Have you seen a doctrinal statement? Do you have any reason to think that this fellow scratches itching ears?

There is a nonspiritual aspect to understanding Greek grammar as well. Grammar is not the same thing as doctrine.

Did a Christian invent the wheel? Do you use wheels?

And right there is the reason why your posts and comments are so far from the norm of my Biblical understanding.
Fixed it for you.

I am not calling you anything but many others have correctly said that Preterism makes a liar out of the Author of the Bible; therefore, preterist is a false doctrine at best and has even been labeled a heretical doctrine by many.
Obviously, you build your beliefs on what others say and not on Scripture.

Preterist denies the resurrection of the body. Scripture teaches the resurrection of the body and that is the exact reason why so many people are at odds with what you post.
I don't give a flying flip what "Preterist (sic) denies" or affirms. I also don't give a flying flip about your ignorant and irrelevant opinions. Save yourself the trouble of responding to me in future.

My friend.....you saying to me as a PRETERIST that ..."
"you build your beliefs on what others say and not on Scripture.".........is without a doubt the most silliest thing anyone has ever said to me in my life and I am really old.

A Preterist believer telling someone who has taught the Bible for 50 years that he listens to what others say instead of on the Scriptures.

Please save your breath and time my friend. To be a believer in the Preterist position means that you rejected the Scriptures and left them in your read view mirror a long time ago,

There is nothing more insidious than the Preterist view of Scriptures.

Basiclly YOU believe and have changed the Bible to say that ........

1. That the book of Revelation was written prior to AD 70.

2. That Daniel and the majority of the book of Revelation was fulfilled in AD 70 when Titus attacked Jerusalem.

3. That the church has replaced Israel.

4. Jesus IS NOT Coming again the 2nd time as He has already come.

If you do not give a "FLIP" on what you believe, shame on you my friend.

Good stuff.

My 1st car was a '57 Chevy 2 door Bel Air with a 289, bored out and stoked to a 350.
I could sit on the inside front fender and adjust the points and carb with an allen wrench.

That dad gummed car timed out at 13.3 at Bithlo Drag Race Track in Orlando Fl. in 1967.

Today, I own a 2018 Hyundai Genesis 6 cylinder I can not even see the engine with the hood up.

Funny stuff.

My 57 Chevy had a 350 CI V-8 and made 300 hp in 1967.

My Hyundai v-6 has 353 hp.

But John was AN APOSTLE and HE was given the sign gifts as recorded in Mark 16:14.

John was one of the ELEVEN and as such he was given the Revelation.

Just so that you will know.....the only man in all of the Bible who was shown the world BEFORE Creation, and after the Apocalypse was John.
