Grandpa, post: 3670546, member: 93985"]Hebrews 4:1-11
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

You can't do both. You are either given Rest and cease from your work or you continue to look to the law and work at that to try and gain Righteousness before God.

We are told explicitly that it is not by working at the law that makes us righteous. Even though it seems like a contradiction to the natural man.

there's a great post by a current member.....post 10
Agreed! Not to mention all of the scriptures that teach that we are not under the law, but are saved by grace through faith and this not of our own selves. It is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.

I said God's commandments, not the rituals of the old testament. Those were representative of the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

They become rituals because God commanded them to the Jews. SDA's believe that the commands to the Jews like strict diets and sabbath apply to them. Therefore they must also offer animal sacrifices since it is a command from God. Not just pick commands that they like.

No not at all. The commands on what to eat and what not to eat aren't ritualistic, therefore they still apply. They weren't put in place to point towards Jesus's sacrifice, they are there so that we know what to eat and what not to eat.

As I've said countless times, this video explains it in depth.

This is a false Seventh Day Adventist teaching!

Observing the Sabbath on Sunday is not the receiving the mark of the beast. We already have the literal taking place where people in Sweden are receiving the RFID chip under the skin between the thumb and the index finger and are using it to make purchases. That device will most likely evolve into something smaller and more applicable in preparation for that antichrist/beast. What will remain consistent, is that the device will go on/in the hand or the forehead. Since we already have literal fulfillment of the scripture, why would you continue to teach Sunday-Sabbath-keeping as being the mark?

In addition, the church is not bound by keeping the Sabbath. This is what scripture has to say regarding this:

==================================================
One person regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
================================================================================

If the Sabbath day was the mark of the beast, you'd think that the word 'Sabbath' would appear somewhere in the book of Revelation, but it doesn't. It is nowhere to be found. Something that detrimental to a persons eternal life would be communicated with perfect clarity. God even sends an angel out during the the time of His wrath to warn the inhabitants of the consequences for those who worship the beast, his image and receive the mark. Therefore, God is not going to hide what the receiving of the mark is.

It will be just as the scripture states, that the false prophet will cause all both great and small, rich and poor, free and slave to receive a mark on his literal right hand or forehead. And anyone who does not have it will not be able to buy or sell. Putting that into perspective for today, would refer to digital crediting and debiting. In order for this to work, all other forms of buying and selling must become obsolete so that the mark is the only means of electronic crediting and debiting. The mark is the device that will allow a person to perform crediting and debiting to his/her bank account.

I don't need to watch the video, because I know their teaching and it is false. What is really amazing is that, the SDA's will be patting themselves on the back for not observing the Sabbath on Sunday while they are standing in line to get receive that device so that they can continue to buy and sell, pay their mortgages, utilities, buy gas, etc.

The fact remains that if Sunday Sabbath keeping was the meaning behind the mark, then God would make that perfectly clear in the book of Revelation. But as I said, the word is nowhere to be found. In addition, if keeping the Sabbath on Sunday was the mark, Jesus would have mentioned it in the letters to the seven churches, yet not one word.

A good rule of thumb is to not have any device put on your body, period!

Well if you watch the video you'll see that everything they say is Bible based. But I do agree with your point. I don't want to pit any type of device in my body either. I only recommend this video because I don't feel that I have enough experience to be able to explain this properly. Who or what do you believe is the beast then? I'm genuinely curious to know, I'm not looking for an arguement or anything.

In Genesis 2:3, God specifically blessed the seventh day. In Exodus 20:8-11, He tells us to observe it. I do agree that we find rest in God, but the Sabbath day was made for rest from the work we do on a daily basis. Even though we find rest in God, we still have to work during the week. That's why God blessed the seventh day as the Sabbarh so that we could take a break and commune with Him, and ultimately remember the creation. God easily could've blessed every day and made it the Sabbath everyday, but He didn't. He specifically specified one day of the week. Gos bless you, and peace and love to you.
What is a day to God? We no longer live by a celestial calendar in the Spirit. We say “the Lord willing” and we follow the Lord. When we are living by the spirit we are always in the Sabbath. We exist in the 7th day with the Lord as He is always at rest. To do otherwise is to claim we are still involved in our own work.

I don't think the fact that it's an Adventist source discredits the information that that they give. It is biblically based so I ask that you give it a chance. I do say that I am a Seventh-day Adventist, but that title doesn't matter. In raw terms I am a Bible believing follower of Christ. The fact that I identify as a Seventh-day Adventist doesn't have to do with the fact that I believe what the Bible says, no matter what the denomination itself believes.

I am also never looking for an argument, but to contend for the truth.

The word 'beast' is used to represent kingdoms, as described in Daniel and in Revelation. However, the word is also used to describe an individual being. The first place in Revelation that this beast is mentioned is at the sounding of the 5th Trumpet in Rev.9:11 as the angel of the Abyss:

"They were ruled by a king, the angel of the Abyss. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek it is Apollyon." - Rev.9:11

The next place that he is mentioned, is in Rev.11:7 as the beast, where he will come up out of the Abyss and kill the two witnesses:

"When the two witnesses have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will wage war with them, and will overpower and kill them." - Rev.11:17

Then the beast is mentioned in Rev.13:2 where the dragon/Satan gives the beast his power, seat and great authority:

"And the dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority." - Rev.13:2

And again in Rev.13:5-7 when the beast is given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them:

"Then the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and to conquer them, and he was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. - Rev.13:7

Then again in Rev:13:14-15 where the false prophet has the people of the earth make an image of the beast in honor of him:

"Because of the signs he (false prophet) was given to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived those who dwell on the earth, telling them to make an image to the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet had lived." - Rev.13:14-15

Note: I personally believe that the image of the beast is synonymous with the abomination of desolation that will be set up in the holy place within the temple. Then the beast is mentioned in Rev.17 as an eighth king who belongs to the succession of seven kings which are represented by the seven heads of the dragon:

"The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come."

"The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction."

We also have him referred to as 'the Little horn' and Paul referring to him as 'the Man of Lawlessness' in 2 Thess.2. And in 1 John referring to him as the antichrist. And of course as the 'Beast' in Revelation.

It appears that scripture is referring two individual beings, one being a human being and the other the angel from the Abyss. It may be that when the angel/beast comes up out of the Abyss, that he will become the spiritual power behind the human man of lawlessness.

Then in Rev.19:20 as the Lord is returning to the earth, both the beast and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire:

"But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. - Rev.19:20

Notice in scripture above that it states that "the two of them" meaning the beast and the false prophet, which demonstrates that they are individual beings. In addition, the fact that it mentions that they are thrown alive into the lake of fire would infer that they are human beings.

There of course other places where the beast is mentioned, but I chose the main scriptures in answer to your question.

So, though there are many who have the same type of spirit of the antichrist, there is an individual who is coming who will be thee antichrist, that world ruler who will proclaim himself to be God. The false prophet will be given power to perform counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders for the purpose of giving credibility to the antichrist/beast to support his claim.

I hope that this information was beneficial for you.

So the beast is a human and a fallen angel?
Remember when Daniel began to pray for understanding of the visions. The angel Gabriel was sent immediately to give to give Daniel understand. However, it took him 21 days to get to him because Gabriel said that was prevented from getting to Daniel because the "prince of Persia" withstood him. Now, since we know that the human prince of Persia and his army could not prevent a powerful holy angel from carrying out his mission or anything else, it is apparent that the Prince of Persia that Gabriel was speaking of was the Prince of Persia's spiritual counterpart, a powerful fallen angel and his army. This is further supported by the fact that Michael the archangel had to come to help Gabriel in order to finally get to Daniel.

That said, I believe that the antichrist will be a human being and the angel/beast that comes up out of the Abyss will be his spiritual counterpart, just like the human Prince of Persia had a spiritual counterpart.

==============================================================
“Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision concerns those days.”
==================================================================================

In Ezekiel 28:11 the designation of the king of Tyre is also used in reference to Lucifer/Satan:

====================================================================================

Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, take up a lament for the king of Tyre and tell him that this is what the Lord GOD says:

‘You were the seal of perfection,

full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

You were in Eden,

the garden of God.

Every kind of precious stone adorned you:

ruby, topaz, and diamond,

beryl, onyx, and jasper,

sapphire, turquoise, and emerald.

Your mountings and settings were crafted in gold,

prepared on the day of your creation.

You were anointed as a guardian cherub,

for I had ordained you.

You were on the holy mountain of God;

you walked among the fiery stones.

From the day you were created

you were blameless in your ways—

until wickedness was found in you.

By the vastness of your trade,

you were filled with violence, and you sinned.

So I drove you in disgrace

from the mountain of God,

and I banished you, O guardian cherub,

from among the fiery stones.

Your heart grew proud of your beauty;

you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor;

so I cast you to the earth;

I made you a spectacle before kings.

====================================================

The fact that this king of Tyre is referred to as the guardian cherub would give us further understanding that this lament is not to the human king of Tyre, but to the spiritual power behind him, which Satan.

If you say that only certain books are valid in the Bible, then you're basically saying the rest don't matter and are effectively taking things away from it.
She never said that,

You have a comprehension problem my friend.

I am a Seventh-day Adventist and the mark of the beast hasn't been administered yet. If these people continue to worship on Sunday in the end times then yes, that would be true.
We are supposed to worship every day. Not just saterday or sunday.

Are you married? Do you tell your spouse you will worship her on Saterday? Or do you worship her every day?

This Sabbath stuff is just wrong my friend

They are still Gods commands.

Oh do you mean the ten? The “Ministry of death written on Stone”? As paul called them?

Is it not better to follow the law of Christ? Which in doing so will encompass law as God wanted?

I never said whites are racist. I said only whites can be racist because they're the only race that isn't a minority, but that doesn't mean other people and races can't discriminate against them.
Excuse me sir (maam?) thats just dead wrong. Anyone can be racist.

This is what I study in the Bible. I read it for myself. If it is in the Bible, then I believe it.
Where does it say in the bible that if I worship on any day except saterday that is the mark of the beast?
