no you are not

you are following SDA teachings
How? All I've been doing this whole time has been quoting Scripture. How are Seventh-day Adventist involved with that? From what I've seen, their teachings agree with the Bible.

This video expresses the perspectives that ushered me away from a fundamentalist acceptance of Seventh-Day Adventism into a life of freedom from religious dogma that was limiting.

Well I don't see what the probelm is. James says that faith with works is dead. That means that if we have faith it will also show through the works we do. The faith is the only thing that can justify us yes, but the works is why we help the poor and feed the hungry.
The problem is your using James to promote a works based Gospel.

James is talking to licentious people. WHo think they just have to believe and say a prayer and their ok. He is telling them they have never been saved because they NEVER had living faith.

Paul on the other hand, is talking to people who try to add works to the gospel. Telling them that salvation is not by our works, But by our faith. Work do not save us, Do not keep us saved, And will not prevent us from being saved.

Workers want to focus on James and ignore eph, Because they do not want to look at those passages

I study the Bible for myself. My age has nothing to do with that. I may not have as much experience as you, but I believe that whether I'm 15 or 50 God will reveal the truth to me through His Word.
Only if you let him, And to do this you have to have an open mind. I thought I did when I was your age, And I was dead wrong, I listened to those who taught me, And did not know until many years later. I was misled

And for some general information, Sunday laws happened in America during the 1880's where you were legally unable to work on Sundays. You can search it up and you'll find some information on it. God bless you all, and peace and love to all of you.

That has nothing to do with our conversation my friend.

Its not about what others do. Its about what the Bible says.

here is an observation from Ellen White herself:

..Satan has taken full possession of the [non-Adventist] Churches" and even their prayers are an "abomination" to God. (Ellen White, Spiritual Gifts, Vol. 1, p.190.)

so according to those in the SDA persuasion everyone but them are going to hell and God does not hear our prayers

so it seems kind of hypocritical to keep saying God bless you and love love love to others when you have to know that your founder believes we are going to hell with her blessing

you can't make this stuff up :(

What does it mean for us today, to keep the Sabbath holy? It is still a commandment.....
The Shabbat is made for man.........not man for the Shabbat.

So, when a religious organization that is pretending to be a Christian denomination teaches that you "must KEEP", what is given to man as a rest, or could be described as a gift from WORK, then this cult is changing the idea of a day of rest into a legalistic commandment to try to bring you into bondage to the old covenant.

If the Sabbath day was the mark of the beast, you'd think that the word 'Sabbath' would appear somewhere in the book of Revelation, but it doesn't. It is nowhere to be found. Something that detrimental to a persons eternal life would be communicated with perfect clarity. God even sends an angel out during the the time of His wrath to warn the inhabitants of the consequences for those who worship the beast, his image and receive the mark. Therefore, God is not going to hide what the receiving of the mark is.

It will be just as the scripture states, that the false prophet will cause all both great and small, rich and poor, free and slave to receive a mark on his literal right hand or forehead. And anyone who does not have it will not be able to buy or sell. Putting that into perspective for today, would refer to digital crediting and debiting. In order for this to work, all other forms of buying and selling must become obsolete so that the mark is the only means of electronic crediting and debiting. The mark is the device that will allow a person to perform crediting and debiting to his/her bank account.
The Sabbath command is not reiterated in the New Testament, that is true. However, there is much controversy over what the mark of the beast may be, so it is highly doubtful it was communicated with perfect clarity.

There's a simple answer to this question. If you think that the 4th commandment isn't binding anymore, then you also have to believe that all of the commandments aren't binding anymore, but that can't be true because Jesus Himself kept the commandments including the fourth one. He observed the Sabbath. Since we are to follow his example, it seems logical that we should keep the Sabbath as well.
God bless you all, love and peace to all of you.
And the big ten were given to Israel, not gentiles.

See Hebrews about the two covenants.

Sabbarh is actually not for only Jewish people. Just like the ten commandments are for all of us, so is the Sabbath.
Exodus 20

New International Version

The Ten Commandments
20 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Deuteronomy 5

King James Version

5 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.

Yes that's very true. Without faith that there is no way to please God. But if you're gonna say that the Sabbath is not valid then you have to disregard all of the commandments.
And yet, SDA choose to ignore 603 of the other laws to Israel.

I personally have looked at this for me and have come to the conclusion that we should, as Christians, keep the Commandments. Does that mean that if you follow the Commandments you will have Eternal Life? No, only the Blood of Jesus will provide this. Here is how I broke it down for me, concerning the Sabbath. The command that I read is,

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

This is a Command of GOD, not the Law, the Law came later. What does "HOLY" mean? In my feeble mind, Holy means Good and Right. As in only do what is Good and Right. When Jesus was asked buy the Rich Young Man about Eternal Life, he told him to follow the commands and started rattling them off. During this exchange the Young Man calls him "Good Master or Good Teacher" and Jesus tells him there is only One who is Good.

Matthew 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Jesus also said doing good on the Sabbath was allowed and gave examples.

Matthew 12:11 Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

The way I understand the command is to Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, only doing what is good and right.

There are some who say the Day was changed to Sunday. I find no scripture quoting GOD or Jesus that says the Blessing and Sanctification GOD had placed on the Sabbath Day was removed and then placed on Sunday. Jesus supported the keeping of the commandments. The New Testament is full of quotes saying "blessed are those keeping the commandments and faith in Jesus". If you are Asking, Seeking, and Knocking, you will be shown the right way to go about this.

Here is the full quote.

"I saw the state of the different churches since the second angel proclaimed their fall. They have been growing more and more corrupt; yet they bear the name of being Christ's followers. It is impossible to distinguish them from the world. Their ministers take their text from the Word, but preach smooth things. The natural heart feels no objection to this. It is only the spirit and power of the truth, and the salvation of Christ, that is hateful to the carnal heart. There is nothing in the popular ministry that stirs the wrath of Satan, makes the sinner tremble, or applies to the heart and conscience the fearful realities of a judgment soon to come. Wicked men are generally pleased with a form without true godliness, and they will aid and support such a religion. Said the angel, Nothing less than the whole armor of righteousness can overcome, and retain the victory over the powers of darkness. Satan has taken full possession of the churches as a body. The sayings and doings of men are dwelt upon instead of the plain cutting truths of the word of God. Said the angel, The friendship and spirit of the world are at enmity with God. When truth in its simplicity and strength, as it is in Jesus, is brought to bear against the spirit of the world, it awakens the spirit of persecution at once. Many, very many, who profess to be Christians, have not known God. The character of the natural heart has not been changed, and the carnal mind remains at enmity with God. They are Satan's own faithful servants, notwithstanding they have assumed another name. "1SG 18
"I saw that since Jesus had left the Holy place of the heavenly Sanctuary, and had entered within the second vail, the churches were left as were the Jews; and they have been filling up with every unclean and hateful bird. I saw great iniquity and vileness in the churches; yet they profess to be Christians. Their profession, their prayers and their exhortations, are an abomination in the sight of God. Said the angel, God will not smell in their assemblies. Selfishness, fraud and deceit are practiced by them without the reprovings of conscience. And over all these evil traits they throw the cloak of religion. I was shown the pride of the nominal churches. God was not in their thoughts; but their carnal minds dwell upon themselves. They decorate their poor mortal bodies, and then look upon themselves with satisfaction and pleasure. Jesus and the angels looked upon them in anger. Said the angel, Their sins and pride have reached unto heaven. Their portion is prepared. Justice and judgment have slumbered long, but will soon awake. Vengeance is mine, and I will repay, saith the Lord. The fearful threatenings of the third angel are to be realized, and they will drink the wrath of God. An innumerable host of evil angels are spreading themselves over the whole land. The churches and religious bodies are crowded with them. And they look upon the religious bodies with exultation; for the cloak of religion covers the greatest crimes and iniquity." (Ellen G. White, Spiritual Gifts, Volume 1, pg. 189, 190

If you read it carefully, you can see that she's talking about churches who aren't worshipping God correctly. These churches are going the way of man, not in the way of God. You added that little blurb that says "non-Adventist" so it made it seem like she thought only the Adventist church was doing the right thing. However, she never specified that, in fact it's just as credible to say that some Adventist churches are included in this! It's important to understand the context of any book. Taking pieces and snippets from anything can result in a misunderstanding of what the author is saying, and just because Ellen G. White says something, that doesn't mean every single Adventist in the world agrees with her. Don't just take an ideology and pin it on all Adventists because, just like Christianity in general, not everyone believes in the exact same thing. Sorry for the weird font, I don't know how to get it off haha. God bless you sister.
