If smoking ciggerettes was around at the time of Jesus would it have been classed a sin

Today there is a big problem with the church you talked about it earlier now we are making a concession for action that does not praise-worthy.

Carnal Christians hurt the body of Christ and the witness of the Gospel. In one sense smoking was compared to overeating at a buffet.

Yet overeating is not praiseworthy that too will not send you to hell as smoking will not either. But are other things that Christians have done that were more than questionable of their walk with Christ?

Let's look at the depravity of a little leaven, shall we? Here are just a few things those who profess Christ do and will defend it. Just measure each one and ask Would Jesus do any of these things or did he in the word of God.

1. smoke cigarettes
2. smoke recreational marijuana
3. drink beer
4. watch movies with explicit sexual context like rated "R"
5. over eat
6. support gay marriage
7. support trangenderism
8. get a divorce and remarry
9. mary gay people
10. support abortion
11. suggest there are more ways to God than through HIM

the sad thing is any one of these is NOT going to bring glory to God, not all of them are considered a sin.

YET so many professing Christian support and do these very things. If there is no difference between a Christian and one who is lost, tell me again why I need to give my life to Jesus?
Paul said I put away those things that would cause one in the faith who is weaker to stumble for their sake I do not do them.

I don't disagree. None of these things brings glory to God. I don't ever assume someone is born again just because they are a professing Christian. Let's just leave the judgement of the heart to the Lord and stay out of it.

"do not judge". call something bad or discerning it is not praiseworthy is not judging the person. When I hear those say this it is only a defense ploy to stop the truth from being said.

I don't speak to non-believers about my actions or their need for Jesus. I follow the Lord's guidance. Do you seriously walk around telling strangers they need Jesus? They don't know your actions.. they only know you are telling them they need Jesus.
I don't judge the actions of others because I am not their master. I am, however, very discerning when it comes to bs.

actually yes I do and twice on Sunday. I have been on street ministry since 1983and I have seen God saved the addicted, Prostitute, gang members, homosexuals, restore a marriage, heal the brokenhearted all happen because I told them of their need for Jesus.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to preach on five different continents and over 15 countries and YES I told them they need Jesus.

I preach Jesus is thw only way the only truth and the only life. I also tell them what Jesus saved me from and gave me victory over addictions, perversion, and many other things. I have never seen success in doing that with a joint or beer or cigarette in my hand.

But walking the walk as I talk the talk.

I am not judging another servant I am accountable as minister of the Gospel to preach and tell the whole truth as God has given it to me. To say the problem in the church today is carnal Christians is not a judgment it is the truth. To say that there is a great biblical literacy in this high-tech age is not judgment it is truth. To look at the nation of America and see that they have killed over 60 million babies since Roe vs wade in the 1970s and we have perverted the word of God and The Lord God loves over HIS holiness is not judgment call it is truth. To say that the United States is being Judge by God is a truth that is self-evident.

YET in all that God is still saving, healing, and delivering people every day. You need to study what judging is and the Bible doesn't say we are not to judge we are told to Judge ourselves first, then you will SEE Clearly to Help your brother.

The US is being judged by God? I dunno. The US has never been a Christian nation, so not sure when the "judgement" of the US started. Maybe in 1776?

Likely so. There's a tobacco product, cigarettes, made by a company called American Spirit. Their cigarettes aren't manufactured the way the big tobacco companies product are. It's just pure dried tobacco made the way the tribal peoples of this continent smoked back in the day. Not addictive, not free based nicotine, etc....

Tobacco is also a healing plant. So yes, I think God made tobacco plants to be used the way their properties allow.

Really now that I have had more time to think about this. We do all have to be careful what we eat or at least we should be. If what you eat makes your conscience effected it's not healthy eating. Then there's food intolerances and allergies. There's obviously a clear case of what food is good for humans and what is not, as so many people are obese, and so many people have heart burn and digestive disorders, the percentage of people who have heart burn or digestive disorder is massively high, the sale of over the counter digestive tablets is a massive industry.
I think most people in the world have issues with digestive disorders like acid reflux or heart burn, or food intolerances or allergies, I personally think when we read our bible, and it says only green food was given for animals, that means humans too, just saying. I personally think humans are chewers of the cud, are teeth are the sames as horses. A chewer the cud lol become a tall grass chewer, and live in them there hills, but seriously have you ever chewed tall grass fresh, not swallowed it just chew it and spit it out like the sheep do, I find it delicious. Especially tall grass that grows in the mountains high up etc. the tall grass high up in the fells get the most minerals etc., It's why you always see sheep climbing the fells etc., the grass is certainly richer the higher you climb lol. It could also be the reason Moses was always climbing mountains too,,,I got lost in the fells for 72 hours, honest I chewed tall grass for a few hours and never had so much energy in all my life. My brain went exceptionally warm, like my body had received something it had always been missing... I'm thinking of going on a seagrass diet, actually.

Yup the problem is also people seeing you as judging them when where talking about sinning out of love for our family, if a brother and sister in christ can not talk about sinning without taking it personally, then there's something wrong somewhere.

Personally, i think most smokers in this thread would not even want to recognize that every time they get an idea in their head to smoke a cigarette that it could be coming from a harlot. (a demon).

Personally my friend i think my friend a harlots life starts of with a cigarette followed by a cigarette and a bear and a joint followed by gay marriage, or watching porn, or supporting the other stuff you mentioned like abortion etc.

I read in genesis that sons of man (harlots) have lustful desires and came down to mate with humans personally I see that the harlots came down to possess mankind to experience lust in the human body.. So a cigarette followed by a beer or six or a joint, followed by sex.. Just my personal experience too.. as a forty-year-old Christian i think I'm qualified to give advice, all tho the younger generation of Christian will not realize how important it is to defeat harlots until they've suffered severe mental illness in their elder years etc.
