If smoking ciggerettes was around at the time of Jesus would it have been classed a sin

Not judging. This is what the Word says:

John 3
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

This is just more glorified temptation, honestly it really is. its bordering on insanity too, Its another classic case of God says its allright,,,,,which is glorified temptation from a satan,

purified cigarette smoke ? really come on now surely your not that naive ?.
Never said "purified" cigarette smoke. If you're going to take me to task for what I said, don't misrepresent what I said.

Surely you're not that ignorant.
You're giving God's creation to the power of Satan?

You should learn about the manufacturer of American cigarettes before you try to tell American's what's going on in that foul industry.

People smoked tobacco in Jesus' time. Tribal peoples smoked tobacco on this continent before R J Reynolds manufactured their first pack of cigarettes.
There are tribal owned companies in America now that manufacturer cigarettes that are not of the toxic manufacture that companies like RJR are known for. Do your research before you try to school someone who has.

My response is adultery takes the flesh of one and joins it to the flesh of another and the two become ONE!

As has been said also it's not what goes in the body that defiles it but what comes out of the heart.
I had rather die from a 5 pk a day habit than die in hate and unbelief...hmm!
Scripture teaches us to WORK OUT. OUR OWN SALVATION with fear( fear of sin separating us from God) and trembling( to be shaken to our core in the displeasure of our God) !

If you are born again, nothing can separate you from God, even your own sin.

If I may: the literal meaning is to work out our own salvation amid fear and trembling. The context (beginning in the first chapter) is Paul’s imprisonment and his imminent end of life (poured out like a drink offering). This is a letter exhorting the saints to press on no matter the press from the world. Paul and Timothy (both are mentioned in the introduction) use Christ’s example of being obedient to the point of death on a cross. The saints are reminded of this as they, too, are opposed by the perverse and crooked generation.

Please provide evidence the Jews were smoking tobacco at the times of Jesus.

I will re-quote your post and show you where you have glorified cigarette smoke. Advertising companies are no longer allowed to glorify smoking, (IE promote smoking for many reasons. Tobacco companies have been sued for not telling of the dangers and lost, and cigarette companies are now under strict laws to advertise exactly what damage smoking cigarettes do the body. The naivety (lack of judgement) comes from people thinking there untouchable like your self and no harm will come their way. What you have quoted in a previous post is a modified risk to tobacco, and you have illegally not said as much which is against the law, you have just broke the law, and insulted your brother in Christ for caring for their brothers and sisters.

It is now illegal to promote tobacco and not explain modified risk is still a risk. Which is what you did in your previous post, so you really should apologize.

https://www.fda.gov/tobacco-products/products-guidance-regulations/advertising-and-promotion

For tobacco products regulated by the deeming final rule, FDA has provided a compliance period for certain labeling and advertising requirements:

FDA has provided a compliance date of August 10, 2018, for the required health warning statements on packages and advertisements for "covered" tobacco products and roll-your-own / cigarette tobacco products.1, 2

For deemed products, FDA has also provided a compliance period for certain modified risk tobacco product requirements.

November 8, 2017: Stop manufacturing tobacco products, the label, labeling, or advertising of which uses the descriptors "light," "mild," "low" or similar descriptors unless you have a Modified Risk Tobacco Product order in effect. (Stop distributing these modified risk tobacco products in interstate commerce by December 8, 2017.)

For all others deemed, modified risk tobacco products, stop introduction or delivery for introduction into interstate commerce as of the effective date of the deeming rule (August 8, 2016), unless you have a Modified Risk Tobacco Product order in effect.

What goes into the body in one way does not defile the body in every way, and I have provided scripture to show as much, context is key,

seriously what goes into a man can defile what comes out of a man in many occasions, and this is a ridiculous argument to justify cigarette smoking especially when cigarette smoking is not mentioned in the bible, its another excuse to justify smoking or like other people think, behave as if there untouchable.

What goes into a man does not defile a man in every situation, or what goes in to me will never defile me, is like saying you will never get food poisoning. Honestly naivety is deadly here in these very forums, immaturity is a real killer.

Life is so precious man smoking is unhealthy, not smoking equals less daily stress to the body and the ability to breathe better and handle stress better as it comes your way, in our daily battle against the enemy. The better you breathe equals more oxygen to your brain and blood. The better you breathe equals a better relaxation and peace in the body (the fruit of the spirit). The worse you breathe equals unhealthy breathing and less peace to the body, which equals fruit of the spirit stolen. So when satan comes along to anger you your more likely going to anger when your dont have enough oxygen in your brain.

Christianity has never been and will never be a religion.

This nation was founded by Freemasons. You can deny if you wish, but the truth is right there if you wish to know it.

Again, do a study into the symbolism in DC. It will open your eyes.

You may want to factor a few things in...but most likely not.

FROM WEBSTERS;
"""RELIGION, noun relij'on. [Latin religio, from religo, to bind anew; re and ligo, to bind. This word seems originally to have signified an oath or vow to the gods, or the obligation of such an oath or vow, which was held very sacred by the Romans.]

1. religion in its most comprehensive sense, includes a belief in the being and perfections of God, in the revelation of his will to man, in man's obligation to obey his commands, in a state of reward and punishment, and in man's accountableness to God; and also true godliness or piety of life, with the practice of all moral duties. It therefore comprehends theology, as a system of doctrines or principles, as well as practical piety; for the practice of moral duties without a belief in a divine lawgiver, and without reference to his will or commands, is not religion

2. religion as distinct from theology, is godliness or real piety in practice, consisting in the performance of all known duties to God and our fellow men, in obedience to divine command, or from love to God and his law. James 1:26.

3. religion as distinct from virtue, or morality, consists in the performance of the duties we owe directly to God, from a principle of obedience to his will. Hence we often speak of religion and virtue, as different branches of one system, or the duties of the first and second tables of the law.

Let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion

4. Any system of faith and worship. In this sense, religion comprehends the belief and worship of pagans and Mohammedans, as well as of christians; any religion consisting in the belief of a superior power or powers governing the world, and in the worship of such power or powers. Thus we speak of the religion of the Turks, of the Hindoos, of the Indians, etc. as well as of the christian religion We speak of false religion as well as of true religion

I know all about it.

What you don't know is the rich founding...christian founding.

But keep omitting info.
That is your method.
There is nothing in our country, or our government(s), that even remotely suggests or resembles following the Lord. You are in fantasy land.

Websters? lol

Try the Word of God.

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Religions are man-made institutions that are comprised of rules and rituals.

Being born again is who and what I am. It is not a religion. Those who are born again have been adopted into the family of God and are now God's children. That is not a religion any more than if I adopted a child, it would be a religion. It is FAMILY.

I had a one pack+ a day habit. Paul did say that work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Keep in mind though - "Fear not" says the Lord. As for the body / heart part I fully concur.

I do smoke about 1/2 pk bc I like the motions of smoking. Vapes make me sick!

If only people heart felt their own and others walk with the Lord they would show more love!

Yeah, I understand about the motions. I miss smoking with my coffee. I would consider 1/2 pack a day to be moderation. There is not a lot of love in the Bible Discussion Forum (BDF) but that's the nature of the beast. Mainly I hang out in the Singles forum. Most friendliest laid back thread is Speak Your Mind (SYM). Strange as it may seem it was put into the BDF as sort of an oasis. I put the occasional post in there. Most of the peeps there are frequent regular contributors. Good people.

Your way of the mark with your assumptions, Its sounds like some of the smokers in here would rather attack peoples personality than recieve sound advice and hide behide scripture to excuse themselves, and then use scripture to judge others, Jesus called that being a hipocrite.
