I ask this question for anyone that wants to answer. I'll give my answer after a few of them. Hope this will make sense.

When you were growing up in your school days from K to the 12th grade can you name someone that was special in your life that made an impact on you? Maybe your mother, father, brother, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, niece or best friend, someone at school you fell in love with, or a teacher.

If you don't want to pick any of these you can also pick a pet you loved . . dog, cat, bird or any pet . . Please just don't say pet rock. There can't be much history behind that rock past history for us . . We aren't a bunch of stupid rock heads . .

Ok just name any person. Only one person and or pet that had any impact for good reasons mostly to say. Whether loving, helpful, teachable, role model etc . . or just having the fun times you had in life . . I hope the members will lie to join in this one. . Tell a past story why that person has been special to you so the rest of us can understand why. . At least a paragraph or more depending on what you say. Not just one sentence. . Doesn't have to be long.

who would like to be first?

My first grade teacher, Mrs. Harrison. Bless her heart, she actually cared about teaching us brats.

She taught phonics before it was popular. In fact she could have been fired for teaching it back then.

She let me fiddle-fart around for most of the day and then get all my work done in a blaze at the end, but she made me stay late when I miscalculated and didn't get it finished on time.

OK, this is before I was 12, so obviously my grandma let me do some small chores on the farm on sundays, and then we ate some porridge and I stayed at her house watching falcon crest or playing cards with her and some random people who might be visiting. And bought me and her other grandkids candy on fridays. She was very kind to us and to all. She was also the only christian person I had anything to do with as a kid, apart from an elderly relative she was a caretaker for. I miss them both. I live in that house now, I looked at some paintings and pictures that had been stored away today, which is why I mention her probably, I am going to hang some of it up where it was again. In many regards she had a very good mindset that I did not understand as a kid regarding what is important, and later, since we where polar opposites on most views. Learned some lessons from her in retrospect. Is that elaborate enough? .

Yeah, grandma(s). Perhaps Gramps too.
Same here. May Grandma told me all she knew and could recollect about our family and its history. No one else bothered, they had not asked Grandma.

To clear up what's being asked was everyone to share a personal testimony about anyone in your life during your school ages. . That you can write a testimony of anyone in your family. Name not to have to be revealed of course. Lynx and znp got this right. I'll share mine now to show how this works.

Do lynx, znp and the way I'm doing. Everyone then here will have their own testimony anyone that was special for any reason of your choice. Look at our 3 posts how this thread works. .

For me it was my Grampa. I couldn't say any other that's significant in those days. Grampa was raised in Oakland Calif. He had 5 brothers John, Lester, Mike, Angelo, Ritchie, and Grampa George. He was raised by Italian parents. They spoke Italian behind everyone back. So Grampa George never learned Italian.

His father owned an Italian shoe shop. 2 of Grampa's brothers were working there. Grampa was a paper boy on the corner handing them out. His father was greedy and took his money. When Grampa got in a conflict with his father he would smack Grampa across the face head. Even close to knocking him down. All of his brothers testify all this was true. . They lived in the Great Depression. Grampa only could eat what he did.

He went into WW2 with all his brothers. Including their best friend Sammy. They all came back alive.

Grampa moved to the San Francisco area then and met his wife Virginia. They divorced and she passed away some years later. Grampa never married again and wasn't interested to. He met his wife at the skating rink. He started in the 1930's collecting records and playing them at various skating rinks. He kept collecting all the way to the 80s. He also played a few weddings because of his large record collection of vinyl singles, albums, and cassette tapes. .

I tell you this because Grampa's memories is a lot who he was. But also he moved in with us in the late 70's. He prevented us from not having to live in a poor apartment. Grampa was a hard worker. He was never unemployed. He kept his original social security card I seen in his wallet. .

Grampa was a provider paying the majority of house bills, knick knacks, paper plates, aluminum foil, etc. Plus appliances he got at Sears.

He also took us to fun southern Calif amusement parks, trips on his 2 week vacation. He paid for all of us and motels included. .

Grampa we very well liked by or family, skating members, people from his work, and in other places shopping centers too. He opened doors for others. He tipped his hat too. .

Grampa wasn't always good. But more good than bad he did. I always thank God in my heart Grampa was there. . Because if not for him we would've had to live in a poor drug, drinking neighborhoods way of living . .That while it wasn't espy to pay these high bills still grateful we lived in a mostly safe city . .

Grampa was even watching after my sisters kids too. A great grandfather. Grampa was always there for us to the very end . . He's one of the most giving person I've known in my entire life. Ask anyone else I know they'll agree also. He gave gifts to those at the skating rinks and free cassette music tapes on request.

So other posters pick anyone you want as a testimony to share with others who was special and why. . Pick anyone. No answer is wrong. This is a fellowship post topic to share family memories. Like the disciples in Acts we are agreeing in one accordance. This about sharing our fond memories with anyone you can remember. Even a pet dog cat etc. whoever this person that impacted you and or others. We can enjoy reading one another interesting testimonies . . Again do it like lynx, znp and now my own post. This is how it works. It's a testimonial posting shared. I'm already impacted by the 2 posters sharing their testimony teacher and grandmother. Does this all make sense now? Hopefully let's try again from here. Who is next?

OK, that means I am out. I cannot read ZNP btw, so must be on the ignorelist or the other way around. And I did play your game and stuck to the rules. And I never name names, I have a nick, I called her grandma. I have never named a name her, or my identity. You are not getting more personal infor on grandma. Hers to keep.

I'm very sorry. It was my mistake. I was thinking about another post that ZNP was involved in :(
