Well then, let Paul "pee" all over this thread . . . disregard all that I have said (please).

1 Corinthians 7:13-20 NLT - "And if a Christian woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her, she must not leave him. 14 For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the Christian husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy. 15 (But if the husband or wife who isn't a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the Christian husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.) 16 Don't you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you? And don't you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you? 17 Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches. 18 For instance, a man who was circumcised before he became a believer should not try to reverse it. And the man who was uncircumcised when he became a believer should not be circumcised now. 19 For it makes no difference whether or not a man has been circumcised. The important thing is to keep God's commandments. 20 Yes, each of you should remain as you were when God called you."

Your diatribes are predicated on the assumption the divorce was newbeginnings22's fault.

What if the spouse was the one who wanted a divorce and you are berating the wrong person?

What if newbeginnings22 wanted the divorce because the spouse was sleeping around? That IS covered in the Bible.

What if you fired all your guns at the wrong target? What if there are factors you don't know about in play?

Since you are clearly bent on leading the OP down your path of disobedience through the clear ignoring of Holy Scripture, yours and my discussion will come to an end.

May the Lord grant you the most amazing of Blessing.

Colossians 2:11 NLT - 11 When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature.

Why does God have rednecks tied up on the weekends? To keep them from going down to paradise or the Promise Land on the weekends.
No one will enter the Promised Holy Land through complete defiance to the Laws of the Spirit of Life . . . or any other Law.

Matthew 7:21-23 CSB - "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 "On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name? ' 23 "Then I will announce to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!"

It was a joke.

I haven't been single in many, many years. It's new territory for me and I'm not sure I'm going to like it. But I also can't imagine ever finding the right one. (Obviously the last was NOT the right one. So many wasted years. Sigh.)

How on earth do I do this? I already miss the comforts of married life (though I don't miss the abuse). Always having someone to go do things with. Boy is that now a thing of the past. I also get very anxious at the thought of social situations. I'm just a mess.

So here I am. In a chat room. Thank the Lord for modern technology.
Hello and welcome to CC!

As you are fairly newly single, I would encourage you to subscribe to the daily devotional from DivorceCare.org. It is biblically sound wisdom specifically for your situation. I see someone already mentioned them.

Otherwise, lean on the Lord and trust Him to work in you for healing. It will likely take longer than you think. :)

Ecc 3:7
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;

James 3 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

James 2 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Colossians 3 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

2ndTimothyGroup, your posts in this thread show no mercy or love, only condemnation. We, as followers, do not have the right to condemn, but to love. God is righteousness AND love. He is both. Judgement on someone you do not know is foolhardy.

Merry Christmas

I wrote post number three, yet you claim I expressed no love.

You're backward. Just because you elected to not say anything supportive, but only things negative (toward me), does not mean that I am without feeling. Unbelievable.

Tenessee backwards is... Eessenet

I think it would do well to listen (and/or read) what the word of God says on this issue.
This is how I do this...and you can do it too if you dont know how.

I put the issue toward God, It can be anything. ANYTHING. I ask Him for wisdom.
I ask Lord please give me wisdom. I have my Holy Bible. I listen to that still small voice that tells me to look up chapter and verse. It might be in Proverbs, as its wisdom but actually God might tell me to look something up in Jeremiah or Timothy or any other book in the Bible.

I then open my Bible and read what He tells me. Then I meditate on whatever He is telling me. I might not understand the answer right away but I know thats Gods word for me.

OP you say you are used to married life and living in comfort. I guess its because you had wife who might have cooked you meals or made the bed and dried your tears or whatever.

As a single you need to do it yourself. You need to be kind to yourself. Jesus was not married but did you know He also had help. Amd he send us all helpers. Not necessarily in the form of a spouse but spiritual help. The Holy Spirit is called 'The comforter' for good reason.

Or, as many in this thread have suggested . . . just do the worldly thing and bypass Scripture/obedience altogether. And no wonder that we'd choose disobedience, for the moment I bring up the issue of acknowledging and obeying Scripture, trolls come at me like flies on fresh meat.
