Read the rest of the Bible. Especially Acts 10. And you answered you own objection: He who does not believe. Not, he who is not baptised.
If you don't believe you wouldn't get baptized nor do anything else relative to obedience. It's a silly argument that is seen over and over again that makes zero sense. Why would the scripture also include and is not baptized? Redundant and dumb and Jesus ain't dumb nor redundant as suggested.

Sure, and I am conscious that arguing is not profitable. You will find that many disagree with your position. Your accusation of cherry picking is unjustified. Acts 10:44 is as plain as day. The gospel was preached, the gentiles believed, were filled with the Spirit and then got baptised. The Holy Spirit will not dwell in an unclean vessel. The hearers were saved before they were baptised.
Acts 10:
34Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, 35but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right. 36He has sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

37You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed: 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

39We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree, 40God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen— 41not by all the people, but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. 42And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead. 43All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

Nothing about baptism there....
Actually the sentence you emphasized speaks directly to water baptism. Where do we see the promise of receiving forgiveness of sins through the name of the Lord Jesus? It is specifically referenced in Peter's initial presentation of the requirements of man in association with the shed blood of Jesus.

"...be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..."

Does calling on Jesus by itself save you? Not according to scripture.
Yes. According to Scripture that is exactly what saves a sinner: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom 10:9-13)

That settles the matter right there. Do you see the word "baptism" in those verses? So there is no need to start a controversy when Scripture is plain and clear.

You likewise don't know what you're talking about. You said " Today's water baptism is a public visible, outwardly expression, of one's inner spiritual change/dedication/commitment."

Where in the bible is this found? Where do you find a distinction between "today's water baptism" and the biblical baptism? That are the same! And baptism is not a public display or outward expression of anything; that's not its intent as the scriptures clearly say in black and white. Read the account of the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. It was only he and Philip in the middle of nowhere!

Acts 2:38 indicates the intent of baptism which differs from your own, unscriptural, view of it as relates to the Jews on the day of Pentecost. The same applies to us today and why (scripturally) would it not? Where do the scriptures say that the requirements of Acts 2:38 was for the Jews only at that time, and what about the benefits attained as described in Acts 2:38-47: sins remitted, receipt of the Holy Ghost, addition to the church by the Lord?

The baptism of the Holy Ghost as described by John in Matthew 3 as well as Luke 3:16, was also referenced to as "power from on high" by Jesus in Luke 24:49 which statement was made to his apostles, and was further restated in Acts 1:4-5, and did in fact happen as recorded in Acts 2:1-4. And in Acts 2:16, Peter said "THIS IS THAT" which was spoken of---.

And regarding your quote of 1 Cor 12:13, read the original Greek in the interlinear. There it says "in one Spirit" not "by one Spirit". The Greek word is 'en', "in", not 'by'.

Go study some more and seek out the truth.
Not surprised by your reply. You're free to believe whatever you choose. Feel free to add me to your so-called Christian list. I adamantly reject your works based requirements for salvation.

At what point are you converted according to scripture? What is converted? When was the Ethiopian eunuch "converted" in Acts 8? Being obedient doesn't mean you are earning anything.

Your comment about the Holy Spirit not dwelling in an unclean vessel brought the following to mind.

Consider that man's make-up consists of spirit, soul and body. Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians references his prayer that they would be held blameless in all three areas. (1 Thess. 5:23) Indicating the reality that a person could be blamed in one or more of the areas. It is interesting to note that Peter presented three requirements associated with the NT rebirth; repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of sin and being infilled with the Holy Spirit. The requirements could by design apply individually to the spirit, soul, and body. It is not inconceivable that the Spirit of God comes to dwell in man's spirit, not his mind or body. Thus, revealing that receiving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is not dependent upon one having first had their sins remitted in obedience to the command to be water baptized in the name of Jesus. This is likely, when one considers scripture records some receiving the Holy Spirit before, and others after obedience to the command to be water baptized in the Lord's name. One thing is consistent, however, and that is both are required as witnessed in all detailed conversion accounts.

Several Christians were executed by Indonesia. You will tell me that they are going to hell because they did not get baptised?
You can always come up with a hypothetical, or real situation.... what if I was on my way to the church building to be baptized, but was in a car wreck and killed....

That decision is way above my pay grade.... God knows what's in our hearts, and He loves us.

He also wants us to do as He has asked, to the best of our ability. He would not have said we were to be baptized if He did not mean it. It was never meant to be an "option".

Except belief is tied to baptism.. He who believes and is baptized will be saved.... obviously if you don't believe, you won't be baptized.
This scripture also does not say you have to have faith. It also does not say you have to call on the name of Jesus....
but other scriptures DO say that.... you should not pick and choose what suits your personal agenda.

And furthermore, if God made exceptions continually based on the multitude of scenarios that could arise in people's lives, each exception would be contrary to his word which is not possible. If you can't trust in God's word, you can't trust in God. His Word is unchanging, and therefore, he makes no exceptions that would violate or contradict himself.

You can stand before Jesus and boast about what you have done. My boast is only what He has done. I was baptised by immersion and we teach it as a necessary actof obedience and witness. We do not say that it is necessary for salvation. We leave that to those who wish to add works to grace.
That's a pretty cheap and nasty accusation.... none of us have "boasted" about what we "do". And we are not adding "works" to grace.
At the very worst, all we "add" to grace is obedience.
If you want to take this discussion down to name calling and false accusations, I'm done with you. If you want to continue discussing, I'm ok with that.

Jesus seemed to think it was important... I think that trumps what your "we" say....
"Important" but NOT for salvation. So which is it? Is it for salvation or is it for sanctification? You will not see the word "baptism" in Ephesians 2:8-10.

Read the rest of the Bible. Especially Acts 10. And you answered you own objection: He who does not believe. Not, he who is not baptised.
Peter states he was not about to withstand God AFTER seeing God pour out the gift of the Holy Ghost on the Gentiles in Acts 10. (Acts 11:17) What did Peter mean about withstanding God? What happened after the group was filled with the Holy Ghost? Peter commanded them to be water baptized in the name of the Lord. (Acts 10:47-48) Peter knew to refuse to give the Gentiles the opportunity to be obedient to the command to be baptized in Jesus' name would interfere with God's wishes to grant them repentance unto life. (Acts 11:18)

17 "Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." Acts 11:17-18

Jesus paid the penalty for all of mankind’s sin with his blood sacrifice. And man’s obedience to God’s command to be water baptized in Jesus’ name is when each individual’s personal sins are actually remitted/washed away. (See Acts 22:14-16, 2:38)

It only takes a minimal study of the word to see that throughout scripture water baptism is connected to repentance and remission of sin. Whether one submits to it before or after they receive the Holy Ghost is not relevant. What is relevant is that all comply with God's mandate.

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Correct.... you do not see baptism there. You also do not see belief there. Or accepting Jesus as your savior. There is not, to my knowledge any ONE scripture that lays it out in a formula. We are to read all the scriptures, and do what they ALL say.

Yes. It is connected, but it is external, not internal. And that is your primary error. You do not understand that salvation is (a) supernatural, and (b) internal. Water does not wash away sins.

Nope... rails still firmly under the wheels...
Faith and belief are two distinctly different things. Even demons believe.... but I doubt they have faith.
If they were the same thing, why use two words to describe one thing?
Goodness......

To be fair, it says they believe and tremble. Belief is fruitless for demons because God has made no provision for their salvation. This is what probably leads to their trembling...their sure and eventual doom.

Boast?? I didn't mention anything about me. Stick to the word of God, that's what we doing here, and post scriptures and verses, please.

"And it came to pass, that, while Apollo was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, "We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.” And he said unto them, "unto what then were ye baptized?" And they said unto John's baptism.

Then Paul said, “John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, Jesus Christ.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve." (Acts 19:1-7).

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, "repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38). “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Roman
