Knowing something is God's will for you does not always make it pleasant. This is overly idealistic.

Now... is it better to be in God's will? Yes. But, better is not always enjoyable.
the law of averages tells anyone there has to be girls & guys that are happy being single in God's will.

如果这是上帝对我的旨意,需要我要单服侍主!我愿意为主守独身,直到生命的尽头!谢谢你的安慰和鼓励!我的心情也好些了!

Out of curiosity, do any singles here feel better after participating in threads like this one?

Personally, I normally try to avoid them. I mean, if I'm to be single, then so be it, but I don't want to dwell on missing out on a relationship or basically walking this earth alone.

Also, my personal confusion is this:

It seems to me that God calls some people to be single so that they might serve him without distraction. Well, what if you're single and really not doing much for the Lord? That seems like a double whammy to me.

Lord, just show me how you want me to live out the rest of my days here on earth, and give me the grace to fulfill the purpose for which you created and redeemed me.

That's my sincere prayer before God, but I'm still unsure of the answer. If any of you wouldn't mind saying a prayer for me in line with my sincere request before God, then I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you.

Good question, and no, I just get annoyed. People telling me I need to be happy without something I desire to the bottom of my heart is not helpful. The Bible even tells us that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick..." (Prof 13:12).

So I'll let those who can dance and frolic in their singleness tell us how joyful it is to be in whatever state God puts you in (I'll have to re-read Job I guess, because I missed the part about him being happy in God's will during his ordeal). As for me, it may be best to avoid these silly threads.

This topic is a bit confusing.

On the one hand, it's good to be single so we can serve the Lord without distraction.

On the other hand, he that finds a wife finds a good thing, and two are better than one.

I don't seem to be in either camp at the moment, but I must admit that being alone has brought me into a deeper relationship with God, so maybe I'll fulfill my actual calling some day. I certainly hope so.

The translation into English:

"Your question is very good 👌, I think it is also the confusion faced by many single Christians! He or she is not sure whether this is God’s call to himself, I think only we are in the Lord Jesus Christ, praying to God constantly Give us the help to live meaningfully every day! Thank you God! Brothers and sisters in the Lord also need to encourage and comfort each other from time to time, take up our cross every day and follow the Lord Jesus Christ to walk the road to the kingdom of heaven together! I know this is very difficult, but we must persevere! Wait until the Lord Jesus comes! Ah they!"

I didn't expect that the topic of whether Christians want to be single will get a response from everyone! For me, your answers and views are encouragement and help for me! Because I don't know what God wants for me. So depressed 😟! Anyway, thank you very much for your response! May God's grace and mercy be extended to each and every one of us!

Personally I've had a ball with this thread. Go back and read some of my previous comments in it.

Also: Howdy seeking and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm probably better off avoiding threads on this topic, so I doubt that I'll read any other responses or even respond anymore myself.

God knows the desires of my heart, and my primary desire is truly to do his will; whatever that entails. I'm actually more concerned that I don't know what God wants me to do with the remainder of my life than I am about being single. I also know that there is more of myself to give to God, so I am not blaming anything on him. When Jesus said that we need to lose our lives to find them, he wasn't joking.

I think how we understand the book of Job depends on how we view the words of Elihu- many translations and commentaries do not do him justice.

I think Elihu's main point is in ch.35 v. 9-16.... we get so hung up in our circumstances and forget to magnify God- and that is how the joy that "the world can't get, and the world can't take away" slips away from us. That's when we start multiplying words without knowledge, and making things worse.

Not that we should never feel anything other than joy- that's not realistic; but we have access to joy that can overcome any sorrows.

Little children singing "God is Big" has corrected my grief that was from a lack of perspective more than once.

I (intellectually) understand. I do not experientially understand. Hopefully, I'll get to that point before too long.

However, even Jesus grieved and cried. The best of us humans do, too. All does not feel good just because God is in it. Getting spanked may be good for us, but its unpleasantness is the very point of it.

Some threads need to be dug up once in a while.

Here's another reason it's good to be single: Blue cheese!

I cooked some blue cheese into my breakfast. I am currently enjoying it and NOT ANNOYING ANYBODY! Nope, there's nobody here to be irritated by the smell. And mmmmmm, it's delicious!

Don't get me started on the jar of pickled garlic I found at the store. (Not even making this up. And it's delicious too.)
These are a few of my favorite things... when the dog bites, when the bees sting, I simply remember my favorite things.... and then I dont feeeell soooo baaaaaadddd..... lol

Dear seeking:

I have gone through this thread and pulled out all the times I have had a ball here.

THIS is how to play it in a thread like this - play it for comedy. :D

Advantage #73 of being single:

I just made a big pot of chocolate pudding. GUESS WHO GETS TO SCRAPE THE POT!

Aaaaaaaaall MINE!

See. the existence of chocolate pudding is irrefutable, empirical evidence easily found in creation that there is a God, and that he is good. Non-believers are without excuse.

"Who makes a big pot of chocolate pudding, and does not himself partake by scraping the pot?"

Technically not scripture, but... sounds very Holy Ghost inspired to me.:)
Well technically it's the existence of COCOA that proves God exists.

If we try to narrow it down to chocolate pudding specifically we get into theological quagmires involving brownies - does a raspberry or cheesecake topping disqualify it as proof of God, and if so how much topping is required to disqualify - and whether milk "chocolate" counts as proof.
One thing I love about being single: I can sleep until I want to get up.

Parents keep pictures of their kids on their phones. I keep pictures of places I sleep. I can whip my phone out and show them off any time.

"This is my couch... And this is the bed in the spare bedroom, sometimes I sleep there just for a change of pace... Sometimes I sleep TEN HOURS, it's crazy... This is my car, sometimes I pop out on lunch break and catch a nap if I feel like it..."
