The son sits at the right hand of the father. I just realized if someone sits at your right hand, and you are seated on a throne, that means you are seated side by side and of equal stature. Physically side by side.

If your thinking a throne Chair ---I would say not ----this word throne can be used figuratively in Scripture as well as literally ---and I think it is used figuratively when speaking of God's throne ----

Found this that may help to clarify this word and how it can be used in Scripture

ATS Bible Dictionary
Throne
An established emblem of kingly dignity and power, used by sovereigns on all stale occasions.

Heaven is called God's throne, and the earth his footstool, Isaiah 66:1.

His throne is also sublimely described as everlasting, and as built upon justice and equity, Psalm 45:6; 97:2. See also Isaiah 6:2-4; Ezekiel 1:1 28. Christ is on the throne forever, as the King of heaven, Psalm 110:1;

What is the throne of God?

There are several references to the throne of God in the Bible. Jesus calls heaven “God’s throne” in Matthew 5:34, recalling God’s statement in Isaiah 66:1, “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.” Other references to God’s throne are found in 2 Chronicles 18:18; Psalm 11:4; Hebrews 8:1; 12:2; Revelation 1:4; 3:21; 4:2; and many other verses.

A throne is a special seat reserved for a monarch. When the Bible speaks of God’s “throne,” the emphasis is on God’s transcendence, dignity, and sovereign rule. The fact that His throne is in heaven further underscores the transcendent nature of God’s existence.

The throne of God need not be thought of as a literal throne. God the Father is incorporeal (John 4:24). Not having a physical body, God does not literally “sit.” References to a divine throne are akin to biblical allusions to God’s “hand” or “mouth” or “eyes”—they are anthropomorphisms, descriptions of God couched in human terms out of deference to our limited knowledge. God has to describe Himself in ways we can understand.

Isaiah sees the Lord “high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple” (Isaiah 6:1). At that time, the prophet was having an inspired vision. God’s throne (and His robe) are not to be taken as literal, physical objects. Rather, God was communicating to Isaiah the magnificence, splendor, and exaltation of His Being. Other descriptions of the throne of God are found in other prophetic visions, e.g., in those of Ezekiel and John.

God’s throne is a place of power and authority. In 2 Chronicles 18:18, the prophet Micaiah relates his vision of God’s throne room, in which spirit beings stand in attendance. Compare this to Job 1:6, where God demands answers from the angelic beings summoned there.

God’s throne is a place of majesty and honor. The Bible says that, when Jesus ascended to heaven, He “sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). There is no higher place than heaven. God is the King of heaven, and Jesus holds the place of honor at God’s right hand.

God’s throne is a place of perfect justice. “He has prepared His throne for judgment” (Psalm 9:7; cf. 89:14). The final judgment, described in Revelation 20, is held before “a great white throne” (verse 11).

God’s throne is a place of sovereignty and holiness. “God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne” (Psalm 47:8; cf. 103:19). He does whatever He pleases, and all He does is good.

God’s throne is a place of praise. John’s vision of heaven includes a scene in which a “new song” is sung in praise to the One who occupies the throne (Revelation 14:3). Around the throne, the praise of God is surely “glorious” (Psalm 66:2).

God’s throne is a place of purity. Only the redeemed, those who have been granted the righteousness of Christ, will have the right to stand before His throne (Revelation 14:5).

God’s throne is a place of eternal life. God is the Source of life. In heaven, John sees “the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Revelation 22:1).

God’s throne is a place of grace. Not only does the throne of God represent judgment for the unbeliever, but it also represents mercy and grace for His children. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Inside the Jewish temple was the Ark of the Covenant, which was a “copy of the true” (Hebrews 9:24), and it had a “mercy seat” where God’s presence would appear (Leviticus 16:2, ESV).

One day, all creation will bow to the majesty of God’s throne (Philippians 2:9–11). The regal beings surrounding the throne of God will “lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power’” (Revelation 4:10–11

The throne of a monarch is always on the right side this signifies authority.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; (I will uphold you with my righteous right hand)

I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right)

Does Jesus also have a throne next to the father?
It would seem that way. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Heb 1:3), According to other Scriptures, the Father does not share His throne with anyone, even Christ. Therefore Christ has His throne beside that of the Father.

Tricky subject.

Revelation 22:3
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

You can read this in a way that there is one throne, which belongs to God and to the Lamb, or that there is a throne of the Lamb and of God, making two thrones.

Then you can read Daniel 7 and see that the Ancient of Days (God the Father) sits upon His throne while the Son of Man presents Himself to God. And then read the opening chapters of Ezekiel and see that it is God alone on His throne (which corresponds to Revelation 4 and 5). But no one has the right to spiritualize away things which are shown to be literal. Is there a literal Heaven? Is there a literal New Jerusalem? Is there a literal throne of grace in Heaven?

There is a literal throne in heaven, there is a literal new Jerusalem. I will check the verses. So its one throne, upon which the Father sits.

Correct but not physically. The Son of Man sits on the right hand of the Father. These are not 2 separate entities as the false doctrine of the trinity will have you believe.

Mark 14:62
62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Jesus, the Son of man, is who everyone will see at the end of the world in His (son of man) Father's glory.

Matthew 16:27
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Notice the text does NOT say Jesus shall come WITH THE FATHER, because Jesus is the Father.

If they were 2 separate entities the text would read "with the Father".

Tricky subject can argue many ways

Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sitting upon the throne,

Rev 4:9 One sitting upon the throne,

Jesus is said to be sitting on the right hand side & also standing on the right (Acts 7:55).

“Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”– Rev. 7:10 - this would imply separation

Luke 22:69 - But from now on the Son of Man will be sitting at the right hand of the power of God."

Matthew 25:23 - but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Based on the above the father decides who sists where and there are different thrones to the throne of God.

But can be interpreted in many ways.

I see it this way using physical analogies to bring in Spiritual realities

Water, is also Steam and Ice, different forms, yet it is all water
Egg: Has a Yoke, White and Shell. Yoke = Father, White= Holy Spirit, Shell = Jesus the body.

The three make one

We the people have bodies, Jesus our risen Savior, Father the Yoke

Take on my yoke (burden) Jesus says, it is light and easy. Yet seeking that out it assuredly did not seem as so, to me growing up in troubles here on earth first, and am here still, just stand, stood and would not ever deny God all in all, even though I never deserved to get or be given new life in the risen Christ. Father by Son has done that once for us all anyways (Hebrews 10:10) to see (John 10:10) , and see the book of Job also amazing that last chapter after not giving up on God ever, even though Job sinned also, he just would not deny God, I see to not deny God either.
Being a part of the fellowship of the unashamed
The die has been cast, I see to stand, through it all good or bad that happens to us all here on earth, in spite of the bad
God is / has Won (One) for us all

Jesus is the Prince, the King in waiting upon his return.

Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

yes and all people everywhere whom will willingly belief God too
Believe God, receive truth from God and see new, not as this world does anymore thank you
As I see when it is almost over, Jesus coming here with Father in Revelations, Jesus hands back over to Father the keys, that are given him
Wow, woke is me, the humility, not having, or needing to be in charge, rather in trust to Daddy, entering God's courts with Thanksgiving and praise, all sin now by Son taken out of the way, as far as the east is from the west, amazing grace this is
No flesh nature can fathom this, only in God's spirit and Truth is this fathomed

Sometimes I pray to father sometimes I pray to Jesus… I use them interchangeably…. I suppose that’s OK
