It is wrong to use Jesus as a matchmaker for dating, and it's wrong to desire marriage when you don't even have a partner. You think you desire marriage, what you really desire, especially for the girls, is the wedding, the dress, the setting, the candlelight dinner, the romantic vibe, all of those stuffs in the movies and novels. I don't know why is it so hard for you to understand that.

Unfortunately, stereotyping is becoming the norm in society, so I guess I can't blame you for sweeping all women into one big lump.

When I got married, I chose a $100 cubic zirconia ring, a $100 dress, and we had a wedding that cost, I think, somewhere around $3000 (in the USA, that's considered pretty cheap.)

Some women are not about the wedding, the dress, the attention, or the materialism.

Some of us are focused on responsibilities, like (at the time,) buying a house.

And, right back at you:

"I don't know why it is so hard for you to understand that."

Alright, good luck and have fun. I absolutely agree, you don't need a prince or a princess for your happily ever after.

See now?

Think of the world of possibilities that could open up if you started talking about how people can make their own moments of happily ever after in life on their own instead of insisting on telling them what they all want and how it's all wrong?

You might make some friends and start planning some fun life events of your own, as I'm guessing, from your posts, you could use.

Why limit yourself to talking about only one subject?

This reminds me of a time when I encountered someone in chat who has long... "disliked" my threads, and that's perfectly ok.

But this individual said in front of everyone, "I'm surprised you can even talk about anything BESIDES dating!" (implying I can't talk about anything else.)

LOL!

I understand their viewpoint, but apparently they don't realize that yes, I do talk about a whole lot more than dating in the threads -- especially since, in real life, I rarely date at all.

Truth be told, for all the hassle that dating can be, most times, I'd rather be visiting cool places with my friends.

Now that would be just my luck!!

If I see any zombies while I'm there, I'm blaming you! 🧟‍♂️🤣

Just kidding! 😆

Oh my goodness, you saw a castle in Germany? I'm very jealous!! :D

I have always wanted to see Neuschwanstein!!!

Maybe some day. :)

The castle we're looking at is more of a homemade residence made to look like a castle, but it looks awesome and is good enough for me! :D

Hahaha!

Yeah, I've never been to Neuschwanstein, but the one I was at looked very similar. Even had a dungeon and a literal torture chamber.

I've always wanted a dungeon and torture chamber.

You know, for like when Jehovah's Witnesses come to the door.

Er... I mean...

What were we talking about, again?! 😁😇😎

I feel compelled to add that I got to see the ruins of one of Dracula's castles (referring to good old vlad tepes or vlad the impaler) also saw some not so ruined castles while I was in Romania ages (24 years) ago.

Oh, wow. Did it include a forest of sharp wooden stakes?

Even better than a forest...

How about a grill???

I'm thinking no one would oppose these kind of steaks...

I never imagined that an Internet chat discussion about Christian dating/singleness would have the capacity to suddenly make me hungry. 😂

I hope you and Lovette will continue to join us here in Singles and also Family.

Try as we might to bicker argue all the time 😂, we sometimes manage to break out into some really fun discussions!

(You know, kind of like, "I went to a fight -- and a hockey game broke out!")

I will, I actually enjoy discussing the topic and, as a single adult who would much rather be married, I have developed a lot of empathy for people in the same boat.

I actually hope to write a book on Christian singleness at some point. I continue to read a lot of books on that topic and, well, they're not always very good, in my opinion, haha. And not always very practical.

And often written by married people who try to convince you that the "gift of singleness" refers to a "present" that you must be grateful for, haha. I come across that analogy a lot in those books.

My book will get it all right, though, haha! 😂

You're back to red-pill, MGTOW crap.

You don't know very many women.

This could be because you don't get out much, or it could be because you deliberately ignore any woman who does not fit your stereotypes. Either way, you don't know many women.

It is indeed hard for me to understand, because the holy matrimony is the biggest day of your life, THE most reminiscent event, especially for the bride. You as the bride will remember and be remembered for the rest of your life, you and your family will watch the wedding videotape and browse the photos decades later, your kids, even grandkids will watch your wedding videotape and browse your photos, that'll be the most glamorous, most relevant, and if not the only memorabilia of you left for them. That is the narrative I've been immersed in, I've been bombarded with this kind of marketing, even as a straight man, "don't sell yourself cheap." If a guy couldn't or wouldn't afford all of these, then he's not worthy of you. So yes, indeed it is very hard for me to understand.

I know enough to keep me stay away from them. I'll leave you with the lyrics of this famous aria.

La donna è mobile
Qual piuma al vento,
Muta d'accento
E di pensiero.
Sempre un amabile
Leggiadro viso,
In pianto o in riso
È menzognero.

È sempre misero
Chi a lei s'affida,
Chi le confida
Mal cauto il core!
Pur mai non sentesi
Felice appieno
Chi su quel seno
Non liba amore!

Good, having a boyfriend is embarrassing anyway, "boy sober" is trending. If you're a decent woman with an ounce of self-respect, why would you wanna be defined by your relationship and your partner? And especially for a Chrsitan woman, supposedly bought and redeemed by the blood of our savior, why would you still seek validation from men? When would you still need this "missing half" or "significant other" when you're already complete in Christ? Don't you see that's just exploitation of your insecurity?

BTW this is funny, I don't remember if it was you, I've also been suspected as a hardcore feminist, it's quite an honor to entertain you from both ends of the spectrum, lol.
