When Jesus died for our sins it was to take the punishment we deserved for our sins, right? With Jesus taking the punishment we deserve for our sins we therefore are not under punishment for our sins and thus have eternal life, correct? Am I looking at salvation the right way?

Does it simply mean that the name of the Lord is blessed? Or when someone says it does it mean that the person has blessed the name of the Lord?

Actually I think I might have been talking about what Jesus suffered before the cross (His flogging and anything else He might have endured).
