    When Jesus died for our sins it was to take the punishment we deserved for our sins, right? With Jesus taking the punishment we deserve for our sins we therefore are not under punishment for our sins and thus have eternal life, correct? Am I looking at salvation the right way?

    Are you sure you're reading Romans 8:11 right? "But if the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) of him (the Father?) that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. "

    Actually I think I might have been talking about what Jesus suffered before the cross (His flogging and anything else He might have endured).

    I guess the Holy Spirit is the most logical spirit to be referenced, unless I'm missing something. I still have the same question though, is 1 Peter 3:18 saying that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead?
