    Spiritual Baptism

Added to the Jerusalem church as members, through immersion in water. Eternally saved before that. 'The church' here.. is not all redeemed but the local body at Jerusalem. Local and visible body of believers. 3,000 new members. Not 3,000 converted into the church. Not church salvation.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

The preservation I thought would be in the originals autographs.. that has been preserved through the mountains of copies. Then the KJV and other reputable translations that have preserved it. I don't get why it has to be the KJV only. I will have a read of some the links you have posted...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Well textual criticism has the flaw of saying like 'this accurately represents what this community believes about the person of Jesus '. Rather than.. Jesus actually spoke to them as it says. It goes too much of a step back to make things relative.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Okay, but the passage isn't about scripture. The words.. may be scripture..but it's not what the passage is about. Preservation of scripture through all generations I agree with.. but that being thru the mountains of manuscript copies..not one particular translation. Even the KJV...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

Problem: the context of Psalm 12:6-8 is not about the preservation of God's scripture but of preserving His people under David's time, who are poor and oppressed.

Does the sovereignty of God nullify the grace of God?

I wish aside from the other letters in this.. is the P was Preservation of the Saved. If the P is meant to be eternal security.. then I don't know why its called 'perseverance' I have heard that it means a believer will 'endure to the end' So those elected will be continously faithful. But...

Does the sovereignty of God nullify the grace of God?

Yes, I believe God can show His salvation to people without them having to be vocally told about by some one else. 'His invisible attributes are clearly seen by the things He hath made, even His eternal God head so they are without excuse ' So that everyone gets a chance to believe on Jesus...

Does the sovereignty of God nullify the grace of God?

Could it be interpreted though.. that they are saying the Holy Spirit enables them to believe, rather than saying they are converted before belief? So the Holy Spirit convicts a lost person, then they can believe. Are you certain they aren't saying that?

    The cults

Yup my group was doing this on a small scale..and was not a Christian thing. Although they did talk about bringing in 'Christ consciousness '. So.. after being in this, I saw very similar things in strongly charismatic churches. To me, it wasn't actually different. It was the same sort of...

    The Security Of The Believer

Yes, it's also interesting looking at the lead up to Hebrews 6, with Hebrews 5. It is clear the people in view in Hebrews 6 ARE believers. Contrary to what many will say of 'never saved'. They cannot comprehend that a believer can 'fall away'

    The cults

Yes I was doing something my group called 'multi level healing' . We would use crystals, meditation, energy, chakras. Meditate to be 'one' with a tree, rock, or animal. Or even one with 'The Divine' We got out into nature and ate good food in nice cabins, so it felt really nice... BUT..what...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I always wonder for KJVO why they don't accept bibles that use the same manuscript source? My church is kjvo.. I am happy to use it without needing the other translations, but I don't agree with the KJV being IT. Being THE only rightly preserved translation. So what about the other...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

The division doesn't mean 'break up' but 'set in order'.. read in context. No verse stands alone unless there is enough context in the one verse to give its full meaning. That's rightly dividing. Not cutting up or breaking up.

    The Security Of The Believer

Yah true it does happen less often.. I was more thinking of christians thinking about adultery being common. Like getting caught in lustful thoughts. But anyway, there is of course those who entire life is characterised by certain sins.. and then the bible is clear they did not inwardly possess...

    The Security Of The Believer

All the Christians I know who believe in OSAS are continuously faithful. This is a false accusation. Other posters such as Mailmandan have said the same thing in response to the supposed 'teaching a license to sin' Osas frees people from sin, because it has no power over them! This is about...

    The Security Of The Believer

David..who is an adulterer, had some inheritance in the kingdom. The inheritance in this verse, by context is about rewards..not entrance, to heaven. A believer who is caught in adultery will be rebuked and disciplined, and lose rewards. A believer who is faithful has greater inheritance...

    The Security Of The Believer

Yes, but they would be disciplined and rebuked. So it would be unlikely they would stay in those sins. The other question is why Jesus, having died for their sin, and forgiven them..would not forgive those sins? Plus.. most believers go through those sin issues. Not that they are...

    The Security Of The Believer

Grieved away? A physical possession? He can indeed be grieved by our sin according to the bible and will rebuke us when we do sin if we are converted. But what you are talking about is the Holy Spirit removing His seal from us..His presence in our spirit. That is not in scripture. The...
