    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

You ever read about the accused in a Court of Law who after being found guilty and sentenced to the gallows is firstly taken to a prison cell (and in that environment I will suggest his very own thoughts will TORMENT him for his vile crimes) and then after a certain time period is taken to the...

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

It won't have escaped your notice - and so I'm stating the obvious but nonetheless will say it anyway - that those who hold like a barnacle to that belief are oh so fond of citing a Scripture here and there in isolation and taken entirely out of context. IF they were being consistent they would...

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

It seems very much that you - in common with certain others of the HellFire Brigade - are so immersed in your literal interpretation of Scripture that uses symbolic language that you can't help but misrepresent my position and in so doing miss the point. I am not disputing that God will send...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

It seems as though you've not got the point. When God says that BURNING people alive never entered His mind it is explicit that He wouldn't do that i.e. BURN people alive in the Lake of Fire - which is symbolic language - for one minute far less eternity.

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

The ESV terms it "Their eternal dishonour will not be forgotten." Jeremiah wasn't talking about the fate of his persecutors. He was saying that their conduct which was dishonourable would never be forgotten because that conduct of his was totally egregious.

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

And YOU may want to follow YOUR own advice and THINK about what Job, in his miserable suffering state said when he longed to go down to SHEOL. IF you actually THINK about it what he wanted was NOT MORE SUFFERING but peace that death gives in the common grave where he would have been DEAD i.e...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

Yes. You may want to drill down into the original meaning of the words I spoke about instead of evidently being in thrall to modern liberal theologians who in Humpty Dumpty fashion make words mean whatsoever they want them to mean. A case in point is Justin Welby aka Archie Bishop of Canterbury...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

You might find my response 'strange' but nonetheless I am in agreement. Let me explain. There are those of the belief that those who are the unsaved are thrown into a literal Lake of Fire. And in that Lake of literal burning flames the unsaved are TORTURED for eternity. That it is the belief of...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

Right. So, throwing people who committed sins for, say 20 years, justifies in your mind throwing them into a Lake of Fire where they will BURN eternally is not torture but justifiable punishment! Evmur: I am not able to judge these matters, I completely trust in God's judgement WB: But...

LOL. So, challenging YOU is railing against God!

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

It wasn't intended as humour but to reveal that you are evidently incapable of discerning between literal meaning and metaphor.

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

Firstly, your argument that because 'God is eternal therefore your sin is eternal' is totally wrong. Don't you believe that in the 'new heavens and new earth' fallen sinful man will be be made pure and holy and free of sin? Given that you haven't understood that -which ought to be obvious to a...

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

I asked YOU to give an exposition for your belief in eternal torture and those words are explicit in that I meant YOU to use your very own words, albeit with links/references to support you, to see IF you actually know what you’re talking about. Because when someone can explain what they profess...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

You are of the belief that the Lake of Fire is a real literal place where unbelievers spend eternity. So why ask me who introduced TORTURE? And you still haven't addressed the issue of the original meaning of the words Hell, Hades, Sheol and Gehenna and neither have you understood or addressed...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

You have only your personal interpretation which is undoubtedly based on what you've been told to believe and you have not addressed the issues of the original meaning of the words Hell, Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna. Furthermore, when you state that I am on thin ice for not accepting your...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

It is not plain and clear at all and given that many question your interpretation of Scripture that fact ought to be obvious to you. Yet again I will ask for an exposition which includes the original meaning of the words Hell, Hades, Sheol and Gehenna. If you are unable to drill down into...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

"Eternal punishment." And do please explain just why and how and on what basis you interpret 'punishment' to mean TORTURE? Have you never stopped to consider that a wilful rebellious sinner who rejects Jesus Christ and when standing in the Court will suffer 'weeping and wailing and gnashing of...

And the SMOKE of their torment...No eternal damnation for anyone, except the Devil

I will suggest that you may want to consider falling down as it will help you to see things with some clarity and stop you misrepresenting me too. The CENTRAL thing I've been questioning is NOT about the Amalekites and IF you read with understanding you wouldn't have made your accusation and is...
