Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

OK. As you are another one in this forum who makes dogmatic statements which you can't or won't answer and refuse to address relevant questions which go to the heart of your personal interpretation of Scripture, I will call it a day and leave you to your unsubstantiated opions.

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

OK. As you can't or won't give an explanation for the distinction between sin and depravity and can't or won't illustrate depravity, I won't pursue this further and will leave you to your dogmatic view which you can't defend.

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

Of course you are allowed to make your points. When you respond asserting that I have "a pat answer etc" this indicates to me your defensiveness that you may not be able to answer my legitimate questions...and the fact that you haven't given any explanation but simply made very bold statements...

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

Do you agree that the Law i.e. that given by God through Moses is the perfect standard of morals which we humans would keep IF we were sinless? And would you agree that we sinful humans are incapable of keeping that righteous Law and therefore in our natural i.e fallen state we are not...

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

But I'm allowed to ask my own questions just as you are, am I not? And my question to you is can you offer a distinction between sin and depravity and provide examples?

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

If you can't give a definition of 'depravity' and can't distinguish your definition of that term in relation to sin, you don't actually have a point to make.

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

What's the distinction between sin and depravity?

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

Ok. Whilst I completely disagree with you and that you have failed to see the highly significant difference between "God WILLS all to be saved" and your personal interpretation that WILLS means the same thing as wishes, hopes and desires - which it most emphatically does not - we'll leave it a that.

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

The point I'm making is that words have specific meanings in specific contexts and when it comes to talking about what God does and doesn't do it is absolutely essential that we interpret the words He used in the manner in which He intended...lest we misrepresent Him and possibly mislead others...

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

I fail to see how you could even suggest that I'm advocating Universalism as I haven't even hinted at that concept. I've asked you to give Scriptural references that make a clear distinction between 'God wills and achieves what He wills ...and God wills and doesn't achieve what He wills" and...

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

So, you didn't think it necessary to define what YOU meant in writing: "God wills all to be saved." Can you give a specific example of God willing something and what he willed occurred? And can you give a specific example of God willing something and what He willed did not occur -and what His...

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

So when you said : "God wills all to be saved" what you meant wasn't that he 'wills' all to be saved ...and it's His 'desire' that all would be saved - and there's a huge difference between desiring and willing.

Does God desire the salvation of all mankind?

God wills all to be saved. WB: If God 'wills' something to happen, will it not happen? Putting it another way: when God wills something to happen, can His will be thwarted? So, if you agree that God's will cannot be thwarted and His will is done, how can it be said - given that you also say...

Why Do We Pretend to know when JESUS was BORN?

The Logos aka the Word came onto the world scene and manifested in human form as Jesus Christ and with THE purpose of being the sacrificial Lamb of God for THE purpose of the salvation of fallen corrupt men and women who would accept His free gift and rightful Sovereignty. For that reason Paul...

Why Do We Pretend to know when JESUS was BORN?

Well, the central point is whether or not Christmas is a festival that originated in Christianity. And whilst I've read many comments supporting the view that it's acceptable for Christians to participate in that event I've no read one hard fact or line of evidence that the festival originated...

Why Do We Pretend to know when JESUS was BORN?

I've only read your exchanges with me and responded as it seemed from your comment that you were citing the Church of Rome clergy to support your view that the Remembrance of the Lord's Supper isn't to be interpreted as an annual event.

Why Do We Pretend to know when JESUS was BORN?

So, how do you know that ALL i.e. both of them i.e. Karl and Groucho had never heard of St Nikolaus? And given that you referred to Nikolaus with the title St. ....how do you know he was actually a Saint? Who decides who is and who isn't a saint? Is it humans who make that decision? Or is it God?
