    A misconception of obedience

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

    A misconception of obedience

It could possibly be that some would like you to clarify what you mean when you say obey. What does this obedience that is evidence of one’s salvation look like?

Medicines Demonic or a help? HMM

Isn’t the question about medicine also one that could be asked of money? Is all medicine bad, is all money bad? It would seem to be based on if it’s used correctly with the proper motives.

    Genesis - the Creation

Here is an interesting take by Dr. Gerald Schroeder — What is a "Day?" Let's jump back to the Six Days of Genesis. First of all, we now know that when the Biblical calendar says 5700-plus years, we must add to that "plus six days." A few years ago, I acquired a dinosaur fossil that was dated...

    The Teachings of Paul (TOP)

    738. אֲרִי 'ariy, אַרְיֵה 'aryēh: I. A masculine noun meaning lion. The word refers to an animal (Jdg 14:5,18; 1Sa 17:34,36; 2Sa 23:20). Figuratively, it describes Israel's rise to a powerful nation (Nu 23:24; 24:9) and Israel's destroyers Assyria and Babylon (Je 50:17). Jerusalem's kings are...

Can perfection be realized without imperfection?

Sounds like you have worked hard at “taking every thought captive.” Self discipline is a mark of many of my ex military friends, and I think all Christians would do well to heed your advice.

Can perfection be realized without imperfection?

Sounds like an old book title, “The Power of Positive Thinking.” I understand what you are saying, and a constant positive attitude is a blessing. Our thoughts though, have limitations, God’s do not.

Can perfection be realized without imperfection?

That is a thought I woke up with the other morning. The thought occurred with a “What if.” What would humanity look like if Adam & Eve had not sinned in the Garden? As I tried to work through the many thoughts involved, I think I also came to realize that maybe God knew what He was doing, by...

    I’m seriously struggling with doubts

I have survived over seven decades at this point in my life, and one thing I can tell you is that life is quite often, not easy. I can honestly say that believing that God only wants what’s best for you, and each one of us here — is absolutely true. Sometimes it takes a little hindsight to see...

The lying spirit of the Pre-trib Rapture

Some folks look around, and see nothing but darkness, others focus on the light they see. I don’t think his gift was pulling up all them tares.

Sounds like old timey Gnosticism, that secret knowledge stuff.

The lying spirit of the Pre-trib Rapture

This verse can be translated either way; Hebrew words often have layered meanings, and translators choose which nuance to emphasize based on context. • The Hebrew “צֶדֶק” (tzedek) can mean “righteousness” or “justice,” and “מִשְׁפָּט” (mishpat) can mean “justice” or “judgment.”...

The lying spirit of the Pre-trib Rapture

In Scripture, justice and judgment are closely intertwined, as both reflect God’s character and His expectations for humanity. Here’s how they are related: 1. Justice as the Foundation of Judgment: Scripture often presents justice as the standard upon which judgment is based. For...

The lying spirit of the Pre-trib Rapture

Does your daily life reflect the peace, love, and mercy given to those Jesus calls His? I know many that prefer God’s justice to His mercy, but it is usually reserved for those that don’t think like they do. It is available to all who would believe.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

We here ponder many aspects of God’s love, justice, and mercy. I look at it like this- his love contains every aspect of His righteousness. I know a few things for sure, and the rest I am comfortable allowing God to do as He sees fit. I would rather be judged by God than 12 men, or women.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Jesus does indeed hint at such when He says, Some will be called great in heaven, and some will be called the least. To whom much is given, much is expected.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Simply stated the Bible says that they love the Darkness more than the Light. In other words, they have been tricked into believing there is more pleasure in sin, than righteousness. It would also seem to indicate that it is something one chooses.
