I changed my settings to hide my rep though I can still see it in my avatar box, not sure if anybody else can?
my thinking is its between me and who ever gives me a rep power increase That's just my personal opinion.

You can't hide your rep. You can hide your green bars, though. I don't see them. :)

You're welcome. I'm just wondering why it doesn't show that you have 1 power. I knocked you over 100 points.. Can you check your points level again and tell me what it's at now?

In the General Settings under the Log-in and Privacy section you have the option to either display or hide your rep power. In his set-up this box must have been inadvertently set to the 'hide' option.

Still see it under your avatar. Perhaps the settings was not saved.

OOps, ... honest question...

Is there a difference between rep powers and rep points? You used both in your explanation.
Yes. It takes a 100 rep points to earn 1 rep power.

It now reads 290. A few more posts and I can celebrate being a superior person than those who are not as experienced as I.:p

Should I make the rest of the posts here or actually say something constructive somewhere?

Once you get 50 posts, you gain a rep power. For every certain number of posts you make, you gain a rep power. Eventually the post number doubles so it'll take longer to get a power. Rep comments also gain you a power, and you gain rep points based on how many powers the person repping you has. For example, you'd gain 110 points if I repped you. For every year that you're here, you earn 1 rep point. In addition to getting rep points, you also gain green bars. Eleven bars seems to be the maximum number you can get.

To give a rep comment, click on the star icon at the bottom left of a person's post. You can either leave a comment, or just your name. I usually leave my name as well as a comment because most here like to thank whoever gives them rep. Right now YOU have no rep powers, so if you do rep someone, they won't gain a power. You need to get 100 rep points to get a power.

Hope this helps you. :)

Ha ha, you make me chuckle when you try to explain this.

We all know what you mean but it's so hard to explain. It kind of comes out like
some sort of quantum physics equation. ;)

Thanks but I almost feel like it is cheating to post something just to add to the number of my posts.

I repped you so you SHOULD be showing 1 power. You show 0 right now. Maybe they upped the rep point level for newbies.. I dunno..
