I’ve looked into Ephesians 4:8 and the quote in that verse doesn’t seem to line up with Psalm 68:18 in that in psalm 68:18 it says received gift from men and in Eph 4:8 it says gave gift to men. something isn’t lining up here in Eph 4:8

Ephesians 4:8
This is why it says: "When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men."

Psalm 68:18
You have ascended on high; You have led captives away. You have received gifts from men, even from the rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.

the leading away the captive could of been the leading away from Egypt the wilderness journey.

But it appears as a misquote in Eph 4:8 on who gave gifts
When HE ascended, He led captivity in HIS TRAIN is not talking about those in Egypt...only...it is talking about the captives in prison who had not benefitted by HIS FIRST coming and preaching the GOSPEL...

This also is why HE took back the keys to hades and death...and why the GOSPEL is for the living...and today is the day of salvation...
Those who do Not hear and believe, will have to rise in the judgment...Those who hear and believe have already passed from death to LIFE and will not come under condemnation...

Just as the WORD of GOD (John 5) clearly states...

there is no doubt the Lord lead the captives away from Egypt, why would you think it has nothing to do with that? is it to line up with a train of thought

I said NOT ONLY...but you are right...because out of EGYPT, I called my son...and the exodus is a very picture of redeeming through sacrifice a people set apart and marked by GOD.

My apologies I didn’t see the only part you mentioned, and I agree it probably is a reference to a few things. but the proper translations of the two verses is clearly among just a few bibles mainly three that I’ve seen

If there even is a serpent seed, as you suggest sir...then this is outside the pattern of the first man Adam who was of flesh...and the second man Adam who became for the CHILDREN who were of flesh...a LIFE GIVING SPIRIT...

That would mean the serpent seed does NOT fit in this pattern
Yes, the serpent seed does not fit the said pattern...

hmm the more I look into the lead away the captives, that could be applied to some more things like this verse below.

Matthew 4
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

Thank you for at least stating the LORD regretted that HE had made...HUMAN BEINGS
Maybe God regrets that He allowed the Nephilims or the serpent seed that defiles His human creation, while the scriptures says otherwise...

GOD´s VOICE/SPIRIT does not contradict HIS (written) WORD...and HIS (written) WORD does not contradict HIS VOICE/SPIRIT

The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life."
"Many" is not the same as "all". We do not know how many, and we do not hear about these resurrected saints again (which should give us pause). But all those who were in Sheol/Hades are now in the New Jerusalem.

I may come to agree that these were fallen angels who sinned who attempted to defiling the Messianic bloodline by taking human women as wives and corrupting mankind, which was the reason for the flood of Noah's time. But more thing I want to emphasize the reason I made this thread. How these angels possible for them to mingle with normal persons and even to have sex with them;

1.) That these fallen angels were undergone physical birth, not possessing the other bodies of humans. I do not believe that they just only possessed human body to produce their children Nephilims. Can they make their very own sperm cell or DNA by the direct possessing to other human bodies?? Certainly not.

2.) That the possible bloodline of these fallen angels who became humans(Nephilim) are came from the line of Cain belong to the ”serpent seed”.

3.) That this Nephilims did not may be started during Noah’s time but started earlier from the offspring of Cain.

4.) That there may a truth of Darwin theory that human species originate from an ape, this may true to the line of Cain.

5.) That these fallen angels were spirits in prison is different from those fallen angels and satan himself who still gone astray have no chance for salvation.

ANYBODY WHO WILL REFUTE MY STATEMENTS IS GREATLY WELCOME.

The sons of God were 100% human and 0% angel.
The giants were 100% human and 0% angel.
The children / mighty men / men of renown were 100% human and 0% angel.
Cain was 100% human and 0% angel.
Cain's offspring was 100% human and 0% angel.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh.

JohnRH thank you for your response, let me clarify about "The sons of God were 100% human and 0% angel'. did you mean they were not the fallen angels that transform to human(Nephilim)?

@just_truth
Are you going to answer my question from posts # 135, 138, 142 , 144? I've been waiting for a few days.

yea, for the rebellious also

What does this have to do with Ephesians 4:8?

"I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.' -John 10:16

Right, Gentiles are the other sheep.

But what does "yea, for the rebellious also" have to do with Ephesians 4:8?

Yes, you've already posted this.
But why are you highlighting that phrase... What does it have to do with Ephesians 4:8?

But see this verse is contrary to what you say... Psalm 68:18"Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them."

I understand that you're saying that its contradicting what I am saying. But I'm asking you to explain:
1. How does that contradict what I said?
2. Why did you highlight that phrase?
3. What does that phrase have to do with Ephesians 4:8?

SORRY I DID NOT GET YOUR QUESTION, FURTHER EXPLAIN IT TO ME?
