Yeah, Physical was truly a thing when we were growing up. I did'nt attend Catholic school but my teacher's were very strict. I got the ruler to my hand in second grade by miss Taylor.
In middle school we got the paddle. That was no joke! I think the school system outlawed this when I was in grade eight. As far as mass, It's hard for me to explain. I truly feel God's presents when I'm in church. I have since I was a young child. And as far as conflicts with doctrine. That is what the men's meetings are for..Lol....
I attended public schools but attended weekly Saturday morning catechism classes which the nuns taught. I am familiar with the paddle too and had after school detention a few times too in junior high.

I wasn't a bad kid but rather just a typical kid from the period I grew up in, 60's - early 70's. During the detention they pass out a list of that afternoon's detainees. One time there was a quote on top of the page, I forget who was quoted but it is as follows- "The problem with the kids today is that they don't get patted on the back enough, low enough, and hard enough". There was an element of truth to that.

I read an article in the Washington post years ago. This person was referring to the school system and children now a day's. Saying that the teacher's fear the administration, The administration fear the parent's, the parent's fear their children and the children fear No One...

A generation has been lost and now another one is going to be lost. Pretty sad when you need cops patrolling the school halls. If you remove God from the schools you should not be at all surprised with the state of the public school system.

My daughter's school has full time police officer's in her school. Has for the past 4 year's. And I thank God for that.! I think they have been doing this since the mass shootings at Columbine high school here in Denver.

And it has really turned out to be a good thing. In
middle school Sgt. "Richardson" interacted with the students, they loved him. And the children that looked at officer's in fear or resentment . He humanized "cops" Lol. Let them know that they are people like you and I...

Yep love is a risk but one worth taking. When stephanie and I were together I had never known love before. I had dated before never experienced actual love and even with the heart break I went through my love for her will never dwindle. You should see the looks on my families faces when they talk bad about her, they called her horrible things and I instantly lashed out in fury protecting her honor even after it all.
I am meek in nature so the look of surprise on their faces was if not in that moment amusing. I agree that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all because I never would have learned the depth of the kind of love I could have with someone if it were not for Stephanie and for that I will always be grateful to her.
Move on already. It's over.

@Blain can you clarify what you mean by multiple lifetimes in post #14?

Perhaps I'm reading it wrong.

I have moved on however if anyone thinks I am going to stand by and let my family call her the b word or the other horrible curse words then they have another thing coming and I will defend her. So with all do respect I know it is over but I am not the kind of person to allow such horrible things to happen behind her back

It was just a way of saying even if you could live several life times there is a chance you might never find the one it was merely a perspective

pining over someone who you are not in involved with anymore while claiming you have moved on is called being delusional.

Going on and on about the person ( I've seen you mentioned this before.) is called obsessed.

I instantly lashed out in fury protecting her honor
lashed out in fury protecting her honour? I don't think she would be impressed. Your fury won't win her back, it would scare her. At least, I think it should. I'm sure there is a better way to get your family to avoid saying disrespectful things about your ex.

and for that I will always be grateful to her.
I said it before, and I'll say it again: move on.

By the way, how does "S" feel about you mentioning her name on here? Unless someone is your girlfriend/wife, you don't mention their names like that. Really, you're just being a nuisance- especially if the person does not feel the same way about you.

Let me ask you this, if you have lost someone for whatever reason do you close your heart to them? If someone you care about is being hounded behind their back over and over again do you not stand up for them? Yes I will always love her but that is just who I am, I mean my real mom was severely abusing tortured me and starved and drugged me but I still love her.

As far as being obsessed you make a grave misunderstanding about me, I accept her choice and I have even told her how I still love her but will respect her decision. I will always love her but the fact I have accepted her choice and continue to move forward in pursuit of God everyday would mean I am not obsessed. Obssessed is to think about them every day to stalk their posts to constantly try to win them back, obssession is not the same as love so please make assumptions about me.
As far as speaking about stephanie I ask you also don't make assumptions about her either, she has never thought of me as one even when I told her I felt like I was a burden to her and she always tells me how grateful she is that I speak as a gentleman of her.
And also I lashed out at my family because I was sick and tired of them doing that, my family is the type that loves to gossip and talk bad about people they saw me on valentines day and that day being our anniversary was difficult for me because it reminded me of all the good times she and I shared and then for an entire week no matter how much I asked them to stop they continued to say these things about her and they don't know her they have no idea how hard it must have been for her on that day too.

I didn't do what I did because I thought it would impress her or when her back, I am one who values honor and her honor was being tarnished I don't even think I told stephanie about it or if I did I don't recall doing it.

So how do you all do it? My state is fairly difficult to find fellow Christians. Not really able to date within the church as there really isn’t anyone there in my (we will say range for lack of a better word).
I’ve tried online sites, and most of them have awful or fake people. It’s like pulling teeth.
Obviously staying in the word and prayer, I know God will bring someone to me, but I it isn’t going to just drop through my roof while I’m sitting on my couch haha. And let’s be honest... this isn’t 1955, you don’t go to the grocery store to pick up the ladies.

Any advice?
I am very happy your looking at reality and correspond to it. I would go to the grocery store to pick up ladies, there's more potential to meet someone if you expand on your horizons. I wish you best of luck.
