Tongues is a sign to the lost.
Interesting, just like the Pharisees to claim a Gift of the Holy Spirit to be demonic...
AoG, Church of God and many others are triune and Speak in Tongues. Even the Southern Baptist are Speaking in Tongues in many areas.
I showed the examples in Acts where they did Speak in Tongues as soon as they were Saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.
There is the tongues of people which enables you to speak in a language that others speak ---which is what the Disciples were able to do to preach the Gospel -----
Then according to Scripture there is tongues of angels -----which is an angelic or Heavenly language that one can have and when these tongues are spoken your speaking directly to God not man -----

Scripture refutes what you have come to believe.
1. " Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5
It is no coincidence that the initial conversion accounts pertaining to individuals of each group of humanity involved both water and Spirit. (Acts 2:38, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7)

Jesus did not tell those who believed on him that they were good to go. What He told them was, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31-32)
If you would read your bibles, you would find out that believers in Christ belong to the tribes of Israel, Jacob, and the rest of those who have faith like Abraham.
And that God will bring back those who call on his Name to the land of Zion, all who uphold righteousness and justice throughout their lives, and commands that no one eats yeast with their passover; that is, putting man-made things before the ancient word of God.
'AoG', 'Church of God', and those many others who hold their fancy title to a high degree, are simply delusions that God doesn't need.
And even though there are righteous beople in them, those titles will be stripped away from them on the day of Judgment, cast into the fire, and never remembered again.

If someone in a muslim country valiantly stands for their faith, having nothing but the word of Christ for their testimony, having never partook in your church rituals, or wasted their time hearing worthless interpretations made by man who wanted to have their own 'creed' here on earth, and they are brutally tortued and killed for it;
Will you condemn them on the day of Jugment? Do you think you will have your head held up high, looking down on them?
Because they didn't follow the same worthless things that you did?
Tell me, If you die a peaceful death in comfort and have a nice burial for yourself, having gone your whole life shoving this yeast in people's faces, burning leavened bread on Gods altar, what do you think you will be compared to a man who was simple― yet brave in righteous behavor, and gave himself as a sacrifice for the cause of Good?

Do you have any evidence to back up you assertion? Scholars who have observed the experience cannot find the differences you seem to be asserting exist.

Well that is a very small part of what tongues are. You can find the rest by reading the Bible.

Actually those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled/satisfied as a result of their deep desire for spiritual truth, righteousness, and God's presence accomplished as revealed in God's Word. (2 Tim 2:15)
You are the one making the assertion and I'm expressing doubt of your assertion so you can provide the evidence. You can just count the name all the religions in the world and list the ones that have speaking in tongues and present evidence.
And speaking in tongues in these other religions isn't really speaking in tongues and it's not the same thing in Acts or as what critical linguists might say about pentecostalism for example Buddhist chanting isn't the same thing.
You are too funny. For the record, insight about biblical topics is found throughout different sections of the New Testament—such as the Gospels, Acts, and the Epistles.
Instead of focusing on the need to ridicule you might actually consider studying the account. The point Paul was making matters. His example indicated there is a time and a place for personal communication with God vs being used to present a message to others for God.

I had one of these stray cats ("you must speak in tongues to be a believer") try to come into our spiritual house. Thankfully he tipped his hand before he could cause any confusion.
Tongues is not a sign for believers because they expect to speak in tongues. Whereas, unbelievers see prophecy (tongues and interpretation) as a sign of God's presence. 1 Cor 14:22-25

Notice Acts 8:12-18 reveals believers expect evidence of the infilling. Philip and the Samaritans knew the Holy Ghost had not been given. And in fact it wasn't until days after believing in Jesus, and obeying the command to be water baptized in His name that they finally received the Holy Ghost.
