I get that. But, considering micro says most of this is done online or by phone too many clues can't be seen. This is why counseling is face-to-face. Body language tells what words do not. That's half of my concern!

I can tell by voice a change in the person. U can tell by what is written and how things are worded a change. God did not sit before you and tell you the entire bible He had it written and by reading in context you can tell when He is happy and Upset.

For the most part forgiveness is not for the other person but for the person hurt so they can get healing
Gack! So not true. You make it sound like God divides -- "I care about this person, but not the other person." Real forgiveness affects two sides and quite a few on the side of the two who needed to work out the forgiveness.

And this is the other half of my objections. How can you minister from the Bible, if you don't get the basics of the Bible?

In biblical times there was not the wide range of medicines available to us today and yet the Bible is not devoid of positive reference to the use of medicine. For their medicinal qualities, the good Samaritan used wine as an antiseptic and oil as a healing balm (Luke 10:34). Paul urged Timothy to use wine to help a stomach condition (1 Timothy 5:23). Again, this is using medicine. Interestingly, Paul refers to "Luke, the beloved physician" (Colossians 4:14). He does not say, "beloved Luke, who used to be a physician before he discovered the power of Christ."

Surprisingly, Proverbs 31:6, 7 refers to using alcohol as an anti-depressant.
Yes; however, most of modern day medicine does more harm than good.

Some of it is useful and worthwhile - some of it is not...

Christians would be horrified to think of anyone becoming an alcoholic or using marijuana, but substitute a prescribed drug that could have even worse effects in terms of addiction and side effects and health risks, and many Christians see no problem.
True.

We call plumbers, electricians, HVAC specialists, but balk at doctors and nurses, as though calling them would somehow be against God's will.
True. However, it is also true that much of what is done in "modern medicine" will do more harm than good.

( BTW - FWIIW - I wrote and submitted my previous post before reading any of this one. )

There is a story told when discussions like this come up in Southern Baptist seminaries. A missionary’s monthly allowance failed to reach her. For quite a while all she had to eat was oats. To make matters worse, she was sick. Where was God? When she later returned to her home country she mentioned this to a doctor, who happened to also know about the serious stomach condition she had had at that time. The doctor informed her that not only was oats the ideal diet for such a condition, a normal diet could have killed her. Clearly, the Lord had amazingly protected her, but why did He use what I'm sure you would describe as "convoluted means"?
I personally can believe this whole-heartedly! There are things "of this type" that God has done in my life -- which may very well have happened to save my life - I do not know for sure. What I am convinced of, however, is that this kind of thing does happen -- i.e., God has a reason - even if we do not understand it at the time...

~

What you have said here - perhaps without even realizing it - is that, natural medicine is a good and proper solution -- [ in most cases outside of emergency medicine ] pharmaceutical drugs are not...

:)

Your medicine does not heal. Throwing medicine at people only makes things long term that through God can be shirt term. I hears a saying once and that is if we healed those who were sick the charlatan doctors would have no job. Or something along those lines. Among my colleagues I have a high standing I only wish someone in your profession would take the time and see what really truly works for healing. You still have no biblical arguments to say what I am doing is wrong.
Blather blather blather blather and no substance. Three pages ago (nine, if you use the forum default) you promised to post Scripture supporting your nonsense, unbiblical claims. You have not done so. Again you prove yourself a fraud, a charlatan, a scurrilous liar. You have no "clients." You have no colleagues. You sit alone in a dark den or bedroom concocting lies to post on an anonymous Christian message board, building yourself up to others so you can stand to live with your failed self. You're pathetic, disparaging helping professionals who trust in Christ to guide them with their real clients -- the people you claim to help but have never met -- and denigrating the education and training God directed us to get so we can actually do His will. Be gone, devil! You blacken the name of Christ Jesus our Lord.

So --- a 'fake' is any person who does not have [ at least ] a 'Professional' man-made illuminati-style satanic-world-system-approved Master's Degree in a related field of study...???
A fake is someone who is demonstrably fraudulent, someone who attempts to talk a language they do not truly know, but use to pass themselves off as something they are not. Such is this charlatan.

This is the PRIDE of those have been 'ordained' by the world system that is run by Satan. Those who are too indoctrinated by that system ( I did not say everyone... ) will do multiples more harm than good --- because, they are "trained" by the illuminati to "uphold, maintain, and support" ( without even knowing it ) that which creates many ( most? ) of these multiples in the first place.

I am not saying that I totally agree with microscoped -- I personally think he is being a bit careless.

However, I do know this beyond a shadow of a doubt --- the satanic-world-system has managed to succeed in convincing the masses that "only we ( those 'ordained' by the system ) are 'qualified, authorized, and capable' of helping [ whoever with whatever ] -- this includes doctors, lawyers, politicians, etc. -- all of these "professions" have been 'established' in order to take common sense and power away from the average citizen - who, in many cases, can / may be perfectly 'qualified, authorized, and capable' of performing [ whatever ] "all by themselves" - without having to have a 'professional' to tell them what common sense should make abundantly clear...
Here ... you dropped this.

Don't get me wrong - I am speaking in general here. I am not advocating that anyone who "has a whim" to 'perform' a particular 'profession' just simply go about it with wreckless regard without accepting the responsibility of making sure that you know what you are doing -- especially if it can adversely affect someone else ( which is virtually always ).
Perhaps you yourself have DID. That's the biggest about face I've ever seen recorded in one confused post.

However, to address the rambling accusations you make, I rest not only on my credentials, but the conviction of faith in Jesus Christ who guides, protects, and inspires me to do the work I do. You can stand off in anonymous-land and rail against that all you want. You will utterly fail to phase me. God bless.

Key here is you apparent refusal to understand I can trust my education a great deal, but only because Christ has used it to show me how I can counsel and treat clients through His power. You and others need to realize the two are not mutually exclusive, and that God can use doctors, medications, therapy, and psychological theory to His good purpose.

Did He, or did He not, create the human psyche? Why do you and others want to make the ridiculous claim that He would not allow men to have understanding of that portion of His creation, to the great benefit of those He created? The argument is ludicrous.

More times than not the perpetrator of the trauma is no longer in the victims life. So forgiving them does not benefit to the perpetrator but sets free the victim.

Oh how I wish I could say who I am. All you would have to do is Google my name and you would either shut up or apologize.

Medicine is not a benefit but what prolongs the persons torment. Learn how to listen and take in rather than spiut out your credentials and you're better and know something.

I can agree that body language [ generally ] tells the most - to someone who is sufficiently "aware" enough to "read" it -- and that, in most cases, face-to-face counseling is best.

However, in every form of communication, there are 'clues' -- body language tells much - but then, so do words... ( whether 'verbal' or 'written' )

~

Please do not misunderstand what I am saying here. I am in no way trying to defend microscoped. I am just saying that "the clues are there"...

And, speaking of such -- let me illustrate a point by saying:

"I have little respect for anyone [ on here ] who is not willing to spend the time to make sure that what they post is typographically correct..."

I know that some struggle with the English language -- I am not talking about that.

I know that 'innocent' typos "do happen" -- I, myself, make them from time to time.

What I am talking about is the painfully obvious ones that are made very carelessly.

This kind of thing is "very telling" about the people who write those posts... ;)

"I do not expect absolute perfection from others - I am far from perfect myself; however, a reasonable amount of effort is certainly appreciated..."

:)

I agree. It only masks the problem, when Christ wants to set them free.

I would love to think that you are Fritz Springmeir -- but, the "queues and clues" tell me different...

I am not yet entirely convinced of the 'authenticity' of "what appears to be" --- the "queues and clues" suggest to me that you are not someone who truly understands the depth of this issue to the degree that you indicate that you do...

When dealing with MPD which is the preferred term to me and best describes the subject at hand you have to realize that there reality is different than ours. When they close there eyes in most cases it is not just the eyelids they see but a world beyond your imagination. The mind is a wonderful thing. In some cases while I am ministering to those with mpd the Lord allows me to see what they see and to lead them out of the dark and dreary dungeons they are in and into a garden where they can have peace and see the beauty that God has for them. I have asked on many occasions for the Lord to tear down what they see and replace it with other things to take out bad things and give them good. Without getting descriptive its hard to relay what I want and get across the transformation that can take place with prayer that availeth much.
Time to burst another bubble. That's not a godly vision. That's empathy.

I'll repeat what I just told you in a PM for all to see:
This feels like the introduction to a marketing pyramid scheme. You're spending a lot of time telling everyone it's wonderful and zip telling anyone what it is.

Thank you so much. I tried to think of a way to say this but was not able to form it good enough. Thank you
Which, yet again, affirms if you can't communicate well, God didn't gift you to counsel.

I don't get the nuances of the Bible, so that's a sure sign I'm not gifted to teach the Bible.

The DSM-IV-TR and the DSM-5 afterward have identified the ailment as Dissociative Identity Disorder because MPD is not an accurate description of the broadened criteria and the way DID presents itself. It was thought when the disorder was known as MPD that everyone suffering from it had at least two, if not more, separate and distinct personalities, complete with different names and life histories, but all tied to the so-called "host."

DID is the best description of the malady, which does not have to, as was originally thought, present different "people" within the same psyche. DID is now known to show more subtle transitions, and not so much from personalities as it moves to differing moods and attitudes. Personalities differentials can still be presented, but they do not have to be for DID to be diagnosed. Also, unlike as in the past, the patient him or herself can validly self-report such transitions, whereas previously the therapist or close friends and family had to report them for a valid diagnosis of the old MPD classification.

Are you qualified to be dealing with DID patients? Do you have at least a Masters in psychology? Do you have a state-issued and state-mandated license? Are you trained psychiatrically or psychologically? I am.

I have a Masters degree in behavioral psychology from the University of Missouri, and a Masters in Counseling from Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm licensed in Missouri and Kansas as an addictions therapist and a marriage and family therapist, and even with those qualifications I would not presume to be able to provide therapy to someone suffering from DID. A pastor, no matter how well-trained in biblical or nouthetic counseling -- even with the proper state-required educational background -- would never presume to be qualified to assist someone legitimately suffering from DID, and most certainly a layperson should not do so.

Do you realize that nearly 90% of DID patients have been sexually, physically (i.e., sexually), and emotionally abused as very young children, to the point they can't remember the abuse? It is not, as may fake and previously diagnosed MPD clients presented themselves, a matter of suppressing the memory. They were too young to be able to remember, but the psychological, emotional and spiritual scarring nonetheless took deep root.

It requires someone with a great deal of experience in and knowledge of the dissociative disorders in general and DID in particular to adequately treat such clients, and preferably someone with the proper training in mental health provision. If you are claiming to be able to treat or help these individuals, I sincerely hope you not only rely upon the guidance and sustenance of the Good Lord, but also have received adequate educational training and supervised coordination to do so. Otherwise, I guarantee, with the Lord's help or not, you are doing more harm than good.

The fact you continue to call it MPD is indicative of the likelihood you do not have either. I would urge you to cease and desist, referring DID clients to licensed therapists who know what they are doing. I do not doubt the Lord's ability to help them. I doubt yours, even if you believe you are in His power.
Thank you for saying that in the right lingo.

Now, to put it in my lingo...

Micro,
This here is the proof of the duck.

"If someone calls you a duck, ignore it.
If two people call you a duck, consider it.
If three people call you a duck, start quaking and heading for water."

(Biblical reference could be found for the equivalent of this, if you want me to prove it biblically. I just figure I don't have to go there, unless it's needed.)

Start quacking, because you're a duck. Three people have told you this. More have told you this, but three with some kind of background in counseling have.
