CS Lewis loved to write on this. To expand on it just a little.... what will our lifestyle be like during the Millenium, and how will it change when we transition into the final state? (I realize much is pure conjecture, but that's ok).
 
I'm going to have a lawn party and everyone is invited. Manna and Living water will be supplied without limit. Dress is casual righteousness and entertainment will be worship and praise unto the Lamb.

Yes, we'll all pitch in and fix the creation. I suppose it will require much hard work, employing all natural people that survived the tribulation. They will also need restored food supplies, clean water that was contaminated, homes damaged by 100 pound hailstones replaced. Then at the end of the 1,000 years what we see now in and on earth will be rolled up like a scroll, no hiding places for the fearful. I'm looking forward to watching Heaven approach, too, going into stationary orbit over old Jerusalem and staying there forever. You realize Heaven is a apparently cubical planet like an enormous castle that's 1.500 miles square. That's about twice the size of the Moon, the size of Australia with 12 floors towering 1,500 miles high, every cubic foot of 3.4 billion cubic miles exquisitely planned and prepared for us. That will be my regular retreat. Instead of a view of oceans below we'll see endless gardens with webs of small streams and lakes, a whole new earth ecosystem with no storms, floods, fires....just gentle breezes.

I am in agreement with what you said about the work aspect of restoring this rock. This will occur before the earth is melted into a little ball. It does say in the bible that there will be no more sea. To me, that is a shame so maybe I will just interpret that figuratively and not literally. This works for me. Oh, I kind of like violent storms too so for that to happen there must be oceans to dynamically stir up the weather systems that will be in play. I do believe that New Jerusalem will have more that 12 floors but will rest on a foundation of 12 layers of precious stones. It sounds like a Las Vegas in the sky to me that will be setting down soon. I will be frequenting the buffet. I might sample the various adult beverages available as well.

From a Christian human standpoint it is all conjecture. I kind of like it that way as it leaves room for interpretation. Exciting.
 
In the millennium CC will have an even bigger forum...

and you'll be able to disagree with people at the speed of light.
 
It doesn't matter if there are houses for us to live,food for us to eat,as long as Jesus is there!Jesus!!!!I draw a picture in my mind that Jesus is in the middle and we children sit around him in His garden with grass,flowers and trees...That's wonderful.I must see Him everyday.
 
i don't do a lot of wondering how heaven will be, and what we will be doing, but i do have an imagination of what we may be doing, and its Great and i can hardly wait.

Sounds wonderful, but how many millions, or billions will be sitting around him? Will the grass be trampled into bare earth? Will you require binoculars to see him? Try picturing the logistics.
 
There will certainly be rooms for us: My father's house has many mansions - John 14:2.

I imagine beautiful rivers and seas, stunning scenery, abundant flowers/plant/trees and green, green grass that goes on forever. The brightest light - brighter than sunshine that comes from God and no night time or shadows.
Beautiful music like we've never heard on earth and constant worship. Rejoicing and merriment, long, long tables laden with food. I believe we will all have jobs to do but our boss will be God and working will be awesome - we will do it with a smile all day long.

I don't believe we will remember our unsaved loved ones - if we could remember we could not enjoy God's kingdom. I believe that God will take away all memory of earth and the pain and suffering we experience here.

We will finally meet with all the other Christians we converse with but are separated from by the miles here on earth. There will be so many people to meet but of course coming face to face with Jesus is the ultimate goal!

These are just my personal thoughts and opinions.

What language will we speak? I expect that commonality of human language will be restored.

Our spiritual eyes are likely be better than our current physical eyes.
