1 John 5:14-15

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Power of prayer! Great vids Thank you!

And life everlasting in God's Spirit is given and we see it once we die to selfishness with the Christ back at the cross, where he took death on for all of us, the whole world to present us to Father as well, forgiven, so we can have new life forever
Pretty loving if you ask me. This is love beyond any Human grasp
Love you all because God first loved all, not all have received this yet, but all will have had their chance to know this truth from God. For God reveals to all, and then each makes their conscious choice knowing what they have chosen, so that there will be no excuse, when the time comes to separate the chaff from the wheat.
So the Question then today is are we whether we believe or not as we tell this to each other we do or do not, ask ourselves maybe this ? can I harm my neighbor, do I deceive anyone? Do I only love those that love me or only those that believe as I do? This is the answer to whether one is saved or not.

Some people ask "Why do atheists even bother commenting about religion and god?"
Probably because people's lives, their employment, their child's education, human rights,
politics and also a little thing we call honesty are all affected by those who prefer to
believe myths are reality and constantly attempt to spread that ignorance worldwide
through deception and sometimes even force.

IronTricycle,

In the U.S.A......

Employment - It is against the law to discriminate based on religion, race or creed.
Child's education - Public schools forbid prayer, the 10 commandments and all forms of religion.
Human Rights - Countries with the highest human rights are Christian.
Politics - The US government does not support any religion.
Myths, ignorance, deception = Cry baby.

You even complain like you are in kindergarten.

Even if you think its all mere myth, as you say what is wrong with what is written,? for example morals. :D And don't you think we Christians face the same as you when dealing with atheist. We have to deal with ungodliness in this world too , like at our employment and our children's schools teaching evolution basicaly as fact rather than theory. so i don't know how you get off with writing education as spreading myth. God isn't welcomed in to schools a sad fact.

People still do it. Coming out as an atheist or a member of another religion in the Bible belt can definitely ruin one's
chances at finding a job or increase tension in the work place.

Child's education - Public schools forbid prayer, the 10 commandments and all forms of religion.
Creationists are trying to sneak in "teach the controversy" "intelligent design" pseudoscience in our science
classrooms. Luckily, they can't win a court case.

Human Rights - Countries with the highest human rights are Christian.
Wrong! Ever heard of Norway or Sweden? Care to provide a source for your claim? We live in a country
where the religious majority want to tell women what to do with their own bodies, prevent same sex
marriage between people they've never even met, they want to prevent our free speech by censoring
criticism of their religion - there has been some progress though, at least they don't burn people at the
stake anymore and slavery has been abolished.

Politics - The US government does not support any religion.
Can you get elected president in this country if you're not a Christian? Enough said.

Irontricycle,

I don't live in the bible belt, never have, never will. Do you? Please provide proof atheists are being discriminated against. Not just one being discriminated, but in general all atheists as a group.

Again you say things without backing them up. Keep in mind there is the rule and exceptions to the rule. To me it sounds like you are just being a angry little troll and posting in cry baby talk.

It is called democracy. That is where the majority get what they want and the minority cry about what they did not get.

I stand corrected. This thread is apparently about debating with atheists. In that case, I'll steal your line. "I'm merely discussing what you believe and correcting a few points. If you can't handle that then you shouldn't be on the internet."

Well i am not convinced about the bible, the gospels, if jesus even existed and the existence of god. Go ahead.

Okay, you say there is no God, creator of all.
Please show me proof that there is no God
Also think on this in this whole vast world from the time you were born here can you know all there is to know?
And let us say to know is to have 100% of all, nothing else left to know.
Now out of the 100% how much knowledge, will you have gained how close to 100%? Be honest with yourself please.
Now I see you got a great amount of wisdom, so to give you 20% of all knowledge there is to be known 80% left over by the time you die here on earth, is this a fair assessment?
Even give yourself 30%, now out of the 80 or 70% left could their not be God, a creator of all this here and now?

I don't need to prove there is no god, you need to prove there is.

We even have the entire explanation, except the origins of life, on how the universe came into existence and how evolution took place, etc. That's a score 1 for me in that case.

Again, i'm not one of those biggots who say there is no god 100%, i merely say that i currently disbelieve his existence based on the lack of evidence. Sure one day we could prove his existance, but that time isn't now. If he was keen on us knowing he existed, he would make it a lot more clear then to tell a few people and trust them to write it down.

But just to be clear, your definition of a god is metaphysical (or supernatural) and by definition, it falls into the null hypothesis of being impossible to prove or disprove. So having said that, i doubt the proof of his existance will change. That's why your % of knowledge is malformed: what is knowledge? If you put a % on it, you must know the finite number of "knowledge". In addition, supernatural things do not fit under knowledge because we could never prove it. So it doesn't matter if i had 100% knowledge of everything, i still wouldn't know if the supernatural existed

There is a difference between head knowledge (facts and figures) and heart knowledge. In my heart, I know there is a God and I know Him. He has spoken to me a few times and each time it was amazing. Can I prove it to you?-No.

So to me it is pointless to discuss "proof" in a faith based forum, but you are free to do so. I appreciate you are not a bigot. You do seem more friendly than most of the atheists who behave like angry trolls. So thank you for that.

The constitutions of these seven US states ban atheists from holding public office:

Arkansas:"No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office in the civil departments of this State, nor be competent to testify as a witness in any Court."[SUP][78]
[/SUP]
Maryland:"That no religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a declaration of belief in the existence of God; nor shall the Legislature prescribe any other oath of office than the oath prescribed by this Constitution.”[SUP][79]
[/SUP]
Mississippi:"No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state."[SUP][80]

North Carolina:"The following persons shall be disqualified for office: First, any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God."[SUP][81]

South Carolina:"No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office under this Constitution."[SUP][82]

Tennessee:"No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state."[SUP][83]

Texas:"No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office, or public trust, in this State; nor shall any one be excluded from holding office on account of his religious sentiments, provided he acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being."[SUP][84]

An eighth state constitution discriminates against atheists by affording special protection to theists only.

Pennsylvania:"No person who acknowledges the being of a God and a future state of rewards and punishments shall, on account of his religious sentiments, be disqualified to hold any office or place of trust or profit under this Commonwealth."[SUP][85]

For the second time, can you please provide evidence for the claim that countries with the
highest human rights believe in your Middle Eastern religion?

want to in school but you can't be forced by the school to pray. Will you please

Really? That's interesting. Discriminating against others beliefs would get an employer a lawsuit quickly. I happen to know many non-christians who seem to hold their jobs quite well. Doctors, lawyers, teachers. etc. My mother's supervisor is atheist, and she works for the State of Tennessee(which happens to be in the bible belt).
Besides, religion should not be discussed in the workplace. Wouldn't you agree with that? Atheist or Christian one should not be discussing their views in a place of employment. Especially since there are laws against that in the BIBLE BELT.

Creationists are trying to sneak in "teach the controversy" "intelligent design" pseudoscience in our science
classrooms. Luckily, they can't win a court case.
Evolutionists should not try to force their anti religious views in schools either.

Last I checked it isn't illegal in America to be gay, and abortion is still legal. Whether you like it or not people are going to protest things. Just like how atheists protest on the other side.
Atheists want to censor religion. You just stated "luckily, they can't win a court case" when it comes to Creationism in schools. Obviously you want things censored as well.

Saying you are a Christian doesn't mean you are one. One should act as a Christian if they claim to be one. If it makes you feel any better President Obama doesn't seem to show much Christianity at times.

IronChariots,
So I guess your rudeness is ok because you are atheist?

Well i am not convinced about the bible, the gospels, if jesus even existed and the existence of god. Go ahead.

So you're not convinced. That's fine. I don't need to do anything about that. Not sure why you think otherwise. It's not like you're convincing any of us about anything.

IronChariots,
So I guess your rudeness is ok because you are atheist?

Because I am an atheist I am automatically considered rude? I have not attacked
anyone and have treated others the same way they treated me. Maybe you're confusing
"rudeness" with someone who disagrees with your position.

I never said you're automatically rude as you claim I did. I just see you quoting passages from a book you do not find credible in the first place to call others who do not share your views hypocrites. That's rather silly dont you think? To accuse others of not obeying commands you refuse to believe in yourself?
I have also seen posts in other threads where I wouldnt label you as polite. Which is purely your choice to be that way. I won't fault you.

I also have a few close friends who are nonbelievers yet they're considerate of others and do not try to berate the bible. They try to show kindness and respect others opinions even if they don't agree with those people. They have the mature ability to express their views with respect and decency. I was hoping you were that type of individual.

No true Christian believes anyone should censor an atheist's right to free speech. Christians also make mistakes, obviously. But our behavior can always be called into question according the rules of our own beliefs. Yes, we should always speak with grace. But as far as some of these other things you've listed, such as abortion, which Christians consider murder; hence, you can't possibly think we'll ever think it's OK to murder anyone, whether its your body that's carrying that child or not, and saying homosexual marriage should be legal when Christians believe homosexuality is an abomination before our Lord; there's no way you can rightfully demand that anyone go against their conscience. When it comes to teaching evolution in schools, it should only be taught as a theory. Certainly that could be expounded on, but beliefs such as creationism should be mentioned as well. Whether you believe they're fairy tales or not is of no consequence. You obviously demand your rights but you seek to smother ours.

Obviously burning people at the stake was not Christ-like. Most Christians of today would never do such a thing. We are not answerable to the sins of those we don't agree with. What they did is not biblical; it has no place in our belief system. If you're going to make accusations, be accurate. There are always extremists in every group that don't represent the group or the beliefs of the group.

To discriminate against an atheist from holding a public office is a clear violation of the First amendment. While it may be a law on the books, it is unenforceable and unconstitutional. I highly doubt if anyone has been denied office due by that law(s). I randomly looked at the link about Tennessee. It also forbade clergy and anyone who fights by Duel to hold office. Proving that it is obsolete. The reason why atheists do not get elected is because they are a very tiny unpopular minority.

You forgot to mention that this law has already been turned over in Maryland back in 1961. It may still be on the books, but it has already been declared unconstitutional. I am sure if I looked a bit harder, I would find much of your claim atheist discrimination to be nothing but smoke and mirrors. Your "wikigoogle" factoid talents do not impress me. Religion: Atheists in Office - TIME

No, actually I don't need to prove a thing. You have access to scriptures as well as everything historically recorded. You've heard the gospel. That's all Christians are told to spread, because it's up to you entirely whether to accept or reject the truth of the gospel. You're the one that's here in a Christian forum. Every person here that's been saved by grace found salvation by the grace of God, but we had to want it; we had to seek it ourselves, and then it was up to us to accept or reject it. The same is true for you. It's just that somehow you apparently feel the need to take us all down with you.

P.S. Your claim that in the Bible belt you can't get a job is perfectly ridiculous. I'm from there, and no one ever asks anyone their religious orientation when they hire.

P.S.S. Sorry, that was the other guy. lol.

To me that just sounds like the more and more we wish and trust for it to be true, it's true. Even with a group of people.

The truth hurts sometimes
