I believe the local assembly should be like college. Churning out Saints with master degrees in Bible doctrine. Equipping them with all the tools needed to fulfill Gods plan for their lives.
True. The pastor has to know their audience and have the ability to place the cookies on the right shelf at the right time. Too high and you lost 85% of the crowd. Too low and you simply become a motivational speaker with little content.
When I teach I aim to keep the teaching low enough for even a child while also handing it off high enough for the adult. Some are immature and new while others are ready to learn deeper topics.
Wed night, Bible studies, etc are where you can really dig deep, find the crowd that wants solid food and no longer milk. Discipleship is key to reaching this crowd.
