It is against the law, That is what Jesus was saying the law goes deeper than actions, it goes to the very thoughts. but Gods Grace changes even our thoughts.

Pro 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

That is a process that takes place and we need grace and knowledge and the Spirit to be able to cast down those imaginations and high things. We can only cast down those things if we have the things of God to replace them through grace. This is how we are transformed by the renewing of our mind, not in keeping the law.

When people see law they think works. They think obedience. They think etc etc.

Paul said the works of the law and grace do not mix. Your argument is with him.

We are transformed within the moment the Holy Spirit enters into us. We do nothing. It becomes a joy to know the Father more and to do what He has shown all is the way to conduct onself in His Sight. He gave His Only Begotten Son in order for us to have this zeal to please Him in all humanly possible manner. Grace does complete the law, but it by no means removes it.

We cannot add to the cup that overflows. We can only partake of it.

We cannot fulfill the Law that has been satisfied with Perfection. This does not mean that we don't serve the Lord. Now we serve with faith though the Spirit. We have been freed from the Law of Sin and Death. Jesus fulfilled the Law and commanded us to love God and one another.

If we loved the Lord, and in scripture we find that the Lord spoke often about keeping the Sabbath, why, when this is for our benefit, are we grossing and complaining about it? God created us, God sent His son to die for us, I should think that if God says to spend a day as He explains how we are to spend it, that it would be the least we could do.

Instead we are trying to shoot each other down with accusations about it, like little kids. Not like Christians. Why can't we just shut up and do like we are told? It isn't that hard, and a day devoted to saying I just give up my striving, I know You are in control sounds like a pretty good deal to me. God didn't ask for seven days of this, just one single day.

Reading some of these posts complaining about it sounds to me like ungrateful brats telling their Father He is wrong and abusing them for giving them a present.

How about this. I don't need a Sabbath day to rest because I am resting in the Lord of the Sabbath. This is the rest I have entered into. It is not a 'do nothing' rest but an active rest where I am trusting Him in all things because I have found rest for my soul in Him. He is the one who can comfort me when I need to be comforted, He is the one who can quicken my mortal body through the Spirit that raised Him from the dead. He is our peace who has given us peace through the blood of the cross and that peace umpires and rules my heart. To take a day and rest from my labors would not be sin but it is not needed any longer because we are not under the demands of the law of the Sabbath but under the power of grace through a person who has given us His rest for all eternity (spirit, soul and body). We find our rest on in Him and in not another or in a day set apart. We enter into His rest through faith in the living God who sent His Son to take away the yoke and burden of sin from off our shoulders. We are yoked up with Him, the Lord of our Sabbath rest.

so when is the last time you went to your priest and gave him a lamby to sacrifice for you?

if the law is still in effect. as paul says, your indebted to keep it all. God did not give bits and peaces of a law we can pick and chose what to follow.

You either follow it all. Are you are a hypocrite for declaring it still valid.

Grace is what saves. Save from what? Sin.
After that, "Go and sin no more." This is much more than a spiritual command. It involves a physical response as well.

Obedience is what follows salvation because we want to live a life in response to the gift of grace we've received. Obedience doesn't (or at least shouldn't) try to take away from the grace received. And obedience doesn't have to negate it.

I will always be saved by grace through faith. Nothing will ever change that either positively or negatively. And that includes me doing some of the things God told me to do.

It would help if such 'cultured' words had any Scriptural support...

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

i do not think they get this. If the word mandatory, Required, or must do is used, it is ;legalism, because it claims something will be lost or not given if it is not done

yet for some reason, they can not find it in them to say Should, Reasonable, of benefit to you if you do these things, because God wants a better life for you.

Our obedience is as an apple tree bearing apples. The grower doesn't command the tree, ''Grow apples!'', but it is in the nature of the tree to bear fruit. So is our new nature as born again Christians.
