From time to time I come across people who seem to believe certain myths about the bible when in fact they are not true. This thread is also not meant to argue different doctrines, but common misinterpretations of the bible which can easily be debunked. I know of two popular ones that may actually surprise some people:
1. "Women have more ribs than men"
This is in fact false. Women and men have the same amount of ribs. Many people say this to try to prove evidence of creation when Eve was formed out of Adam's rib.
The fact is this is more of a surgery. Adam was already fully formed. Taking his rib did not alter his DNA.
2. "Hate the sin. Not the sinner."
This passage is not in the bible. Yes, there are references in scripture we are to do this, but to put this in quotes to give credit to the bible is false.
What are some other myths that many Christians believe, but are easily proven false?
