John 3: 13 - And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

We have the Holy Spirit who dwells with us. No need for anyone who passed on to help in any way..

what purpose would it serve?

some people have children and lose them when they are very young. thats the purpose it serves.

Deuteronomy 34: 5-6 ; SO Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knows th of his sepulchre unto this day.

Well, you wouldn't think a donkey could talk either, but yet he did, didn't he? 'Nuff said. ;)

LOL, No he didn't , not if you believe the testimony that God gave his Son.

If not mistaken wasn't only man [male or female] who was made in the likeness and image of the Holy Ghost [Spirit and Word] given the gift of tongues, or rather the ability to communicate using the spoken word.

And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? Num 22:28

In the Old Testament we find anyone communicating with the dead are considered as having what is deemed a familiar spirit, and this is not to be practiced. It may be considered akin to witch craft.

One person recorded to have been reached after his going to sleep with the fathers is the prophet, Samuel, by Saul by means of a medium or a person with a familiar spirit. Even Samuel was angry with Saul for awaking him..

No, we sleep until Jesus returns when His angels will come first for those who sleep, and finally for all who are yet alive to bring us all to Him in the clouds. Praise Jesus Christ, come soon dear Savior, amen.

Scripture informs us that once a person leaves this realm under the sun its universal Alzheimer’s for everyone, no longer having any part here on earth ever again. When we are a woken on the last day and we receive our new promised incorruptible bodies the former things will not be remembered or ever come to mind.

I would agree except for I don’t think we can say it was really Samuel seeing all will be awoken in the twinkling of the eye. I don’t think he was awoken prematurely it is simply not possible.. God had cut off all forms of communion to include the prophet Samuel.

It was the legion as many gods described in the New Testament.

Mark 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

Luke 8:30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

Legion, that disembodied worker with a familiars spirit never comes up as one god but gods that need a descriptior to single out the one they think they are receiving. Rachel’s image idols called teraphims that she stole from her father were used to put a face of the legion.

God sent a strong delusion so that Saul could believe he was communing with Samuel. He perceived it was Samuel but it could not be. Those who do depart from here never again have anything to do with what does occur here.

And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods (legion) ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. 1Sa 28:13

so when we love our children with all of our heart, this love is only tiny short term love that will shortly forget?

does our Lord Most High forget us as well? after all we are His children?

see how this makes no sense.

so you want to remember all your relatives who are lost? it is you who makes no sense. there is a great deal of difference between God and man,

there is no hint anywhere in Scripture of knowledge abut this world in the afterlife by those who have gone before.

no i think it is pretty normal to remember a lost child. to walk away from a lost loved one like they are nothing because they are dead is a bit creepy to me. non empathy is a trait among cold blooded animals.

i know there is a difference between the Lord and us. i was making a point that apparently you didn't get.

Samuel knew very much who saul was when he was contacted after his death

Well in the Story of Lazarus the beggar we do see a hint that we remember our past lives

Luke 16: 24 and 15
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

...
If he wouldnt remember his past then how did he remember Lazarus??

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

No.

Because people who have died are still in the grave. The dead cannot see or hear or even think. They are dead.

God can do whatever He wants

What about Moses and Elijah in the transfiguration?

i agree. the concept of everything we know being gone forever after physical death does not add up when you compare it with Moses and Elijah, laz and rich man and Samuel and Saul.
i dont know how it all works but its not as simple as we want to make it. and i dont think its proper to attack someone for asking about it, like the OP was attacked by several here.
