Today I got pulled over by the police. My heart instantly started racing. Without even thinking, I looked at my Jack Russell Terrier and whispered, “Act normal.”
He immediately sat up like the most responsible citizen in the country — tiny back straight, ears alert, eyes forward like he pays taxes and respects traffic laws.
When the officer walked up to the window and saw the scene, he couldn’t hold it together. He started laughing and said, “I’ve seen nervous drivers… but your copilot is the most serious one I’ve ever seen.”
Meanwhile, my Jack Russell Terrier stayed perfectly still, looking like he had a spotless record and a law degree.
Honestly, I’m convinced he’s the reason I didn’t get a ticket today

Wait! Lynx!?! Not my nephew Lynx, surely? Never laughs at my jokes, and I don't quite get his sense of humour, either. It's uncle Stanley. Tell me you're not my nephew..... (Not really, but 'twould be funny, eh?)
I do have an uncle Stanley, but he never gets into political or racial stuff. Uncle Bren is the one who delights in really mean jokes about groups of people he disagrees with.
