OliveTree32, and anyone else...I don't see anything yet, where it says entertainment or drinking is a sin. If Jesus made wine at a party, then maybe it's ok to have a glass or two? We are talking about the Lords example right?
Who decided that these things were sins? It says drink but don't be a drunkard. That seems pretty clear to me. If Christ made wine, then why is it a sin? He was at a party, and made wine. Are you saying that Jesus sinned?
As far as deciding what is pleasing to the Lord, Paul made it pretty clear that NOTHING we do is pleasing. That's why Christ came and died for our sins. We are all atrocious beings that need forgivness.I can stand before the Lord, in all my sin, and flesh, and know that I'm loved and forgiven, for anything I do, say, or think. I love my Father and would go before Him, dancing.
If you have no self control over something, then no, you shouldn't do that. But to judge that for anyone but yourself, you are right, is not your place. If I am to be responsible for someone elses gambling addiction, because I go to the casino, then are you responsible for someone elses compulsive eating disorder, because you go to McDonalds, or some other restaraunt or super market? If I am responsible for someone else being an alcholicic, because I have a glass of wine and shoot a game of pool with my friends, then are you responsible for someone elses addiction to computers, because you are online?
Please, everyone, take yourselves out of the judgement seat. There is only ONE that is qualified to be there. To decide that this or that is a sin, sounds just like what they accused Jesus of without any facts or scripture behind it. They called him a heritic. I say we are ALL, hypocrites.
