From my experiance people are far more ready to cast stones on the internet than in the churches themselves when face to face with someone.
I have heard many(myself included) be called heretics, told we have the spirit of antichrist in us and are condemned by people on the internet, never have I been told this face to face or heard it said of anyone else in public.
So are people saying behind their computer screens what those in church believe but do not say? Or does the internet produce a certain type of person/opinion that is not the norm in churches?
I think say pretty much what I'm thinking even if I don't say it out loud in church. However, sometimes God shows me I'm wrong or harsh with my opinions which is why if I think that someone is acting in a manner not befitting a Christian I have to pray about it.
When I tell someone they sound heretical its not the PERSON but the IDEA that is being addressed. I'm not sure if others make that distinction or not. but I think its an important one.
I think most on the site are seeking to understand and develop a closer relationship with God but their ideas and probably some of mine are not in line with the HOLY WORD of God and that is what cause the dissension.
When two people think they are right and unwilling to hear the other side of the argument.
I state my case and listen to others. if someone can convince me that I'm wrong, I apologize and tell them that they are right their view is more Biblically based then mine.
I do that in real life and over the internet when I stop long enough to remember.
The spirit of the Antichrist torments most people (we should do as Jesus did when satan popped up in His life: rebuke him with scripture) and no one has the authority to condemn another. If any of my words give anyone that impression, I must apologize.
Like I said I condemn THOUGHTS and WORDS not the person.
People need to detach themselves from words and thoughts and look at them objectively and ask is this thought FROM GOD, and if it is not they need to uproot it so they can be MORE LIKE what God intended them to be. Life is a journey that we must walk with Jesus by our side to help guide and direct our steps.
sorry that was longer then I intended it to be..
