Eternally Grateful,

Thank you for your words........

God has been showing me this more and more in the past few weeks with something I have been struggling with. It is easy to say thou shalt not. It is much easier to see lets do this, because this is what I need you to do this moment. Always looking for an opportunity to be used by God. Since I have done this, I have not even been tempted.

orororororororrrrrrrr.....you'll begin to think you actually obey the Law:rolleyes:

If I ever start to think this. Slap me, Hit me, Punch me, Lock me in my room, tie me to a chair. Whatever you do. Knock some sens into me!!

Christ is the part of God that show mercy, and if we want to be part of God's Mercy, we have to show mercy on others. But if we condemn others, we will be under His condemnation.

i'm sorry but how can you tell me to know God when you told me we need to keep the sabbath to be saved? your also telling me i need christ when you don't understand spirit and righteousness of the law through christ Jesus and God came fulfilled the OT( make it complete for everyone through his death)Matthew 5:17 King James Version (KJv 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

have i become an enemy because i speak the truth of the gospel?
You know and I know that we agree on what it takes to be saved. That is not our argument, I didn't think. What we are disagreeing on is in the second chapter of James, that you keep disagreeing with. It is in what Christ says about Moses and the law. I believe those scriptures, you keep saying they aren't true.

If I ever start to think this. Slap me, Hit me, Punch me, Lock me in my room, tie me to a chair. Whatever you do. Knock some sens into me!!

lol EG.....even the idea "I must serve God instead of sin" is LAW. that can become legalistic quicker than all-be-get-out.
"i'M NOT A GOOD ENOUGH CHRISTIAN....i don't have enough good works"

etc etc:rolleyes:

Christ came to serve.
God reconciled us while we were yet sinnners:)

the church is for the serving of the saints.
pastors are servants.

Christ wants His sheep cared for.

His Purpose? ALL TO THE PRAISE OF HIS GLORY.

it's pretty hard to be pondering the muck of sin when you're wrapped up in thanksgiving.
it's pretty hard to be pondering taking part in those old filthy deeds when we look at the Christians in the M.E. suffering.

love you EG

I agree with you. And the Spirit causes us to read and physically act out the Torah. If you're doing if strictly in your flesh it warrants nothing except a healthier lifestyle (Kosher, Sabbaths, etc). If you're physically doing it by the Spirit, you gain an intimacy with God and that healthier lifestyle.

Again, I was just pointing out the minimal amount of Jesus' words regarding the Torah being quoted.

Mark me if I am wrong because I just studied this 3 days ago for the first time. The Mitzvat is the teaching of the law, and the Torah are the understanding of what is taught through the Spirit of God. Then what is understood is adhered to and acted upon as we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Spirit gives the inspiration and motivation.

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Samuel 23:2 (KJV)

I will just add the second mission of the church, To make disciples of all nations. Not going to do that by forcing law down their throats. They already know the law condemns them. They need to see the love of God in us..

Love ya too Sis!

Lets all boast of our ability to follow the law. Lets all condemn others who can not do it by judging them as not being followers of the law.

Better yet. Lets all be like David, Sacrifice and burnt offering you did not desire.

Ever have that thing you REALLY wanted to do, although you KNEW it was wrong. It kept tugging at you. But all you could think of was the law (do not do this) Then after continued going back and forth in your head. DOn't do this, But I want to. Dont do this, But I want to. You fall to temptation? After doing this a few times, you become hardened to the law. As paul said, The law revived, Sin increased. And I died.

This is what happens when you follow law.

Instead of looking at the law. And continually telling yourself not to do it. Instead look to the spirit. Think spiritual things, What would God have me do today, How can God use me, who does God need me to touch with his love. If we did this in the first place. We never would have been tempted or even thought of the sin. And we never would have sinned.

This is why we do not look to the law to be righteous. We look to God. Trust him in all areas. Look to the spirit.

I am sorry people think I am downing Gods law. Or think I think we should just discount it. I don't.

On the contrary, I saw isreal for 2000 years TRY to follow the law and fail. I see people in my early life at a law fearing church try, and fail, many fall away, because they could not do it.. I see God, Jesus and Paul teach not to look to the law. But the gospel. and if we do this, we will learn to trust God. Mature in Christ, and learn to live like he did.

Do you think Christ went around, Do not lie. so I am not going to lie. Do not murder.. So I am not going to murder?? NO!! He concentrated on doing the things GOD HAD FOR HIM TO DO in EVERY MOMENT OF HIS LIFE. And in doing so. He fullfilled the law. Not because he followed THE LAW. But because he followed HIS FATHER And trusted him in ALL THINGS.
My goodness.. this could not have been spoken any better, thank you for sharing this if this doesn't hit the spot to some people i honestly don't know what will

This is true.

But again, If I was not focused on the law. But instead focused on what God wanted me to do at that minute. I would not need to pray for deliverance. I would instead pray for the knowledge of what God needed me to do. and the will to do it. and the power to succeed!

If on the other hand, I keep focusing on the law. I am not going to Know what God wants me to do. I am going to be reminded again and again of the sin I struggle with. And I will continue to fail.

In all of scripture God exhorts us to obey His will. It's a good thing, and He blesses us because of the sincerity toward His Word. I pray most every day ( and I should be doing it every day) that I die to myself and for Him to fill me with His Spirit. Not only of understanding, but for the strength that I cannot muster within myself. Just like Jesus told us to pray. "deliver us." God shows us, though all scripture, how He is, how we are, and how our adversary is.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

May God bless you richly by His wonderful strong Spirit of understanding

Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
[SUP]26 [/SUP]The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Acts 2
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43And awed came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Matthew 26:26-27
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."

27Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.

lol honestly i can only imagine the struggles people cause for themselves when they are bound by the law of a creed, i've seen my friends groan sometimes because it is friday( before i was saved) were like " why does it have to be friday night i wanna party so bad" or " sorry i can't do anything bad it's saturday" as the sabbath done party time! lol and they think they are doing the right thing it's so sad and i can't dare nope can't do anything to step out and say they are wrong i just try my best to ignore it, it's sad when someone grows up like that and don't know better, even with the adults they are extremely holy on saturday the holiest of all holy soon the sabbath down back to live a normal sinful life your only deceive yourself and dragging people to hell with you also and might i add IDOLIZING the 10 commandment putting it before God instead of putting God first, i'm sorry if im being disrespectful to any of you in anyways but just had to say this..

let everyman's word be a lie but God's word truth, yet i've been told eating meat is wrong or eating pig is unclean when God said whatever we do give thanks to the lord, how can someone say they have God in them and still reject his word?

hi there everyone... this is my first time on here i was encouraged to join by a good friend of mine... I was stunned to see this come up thread come up about the law and the Sabbath... for starters, i want to share a little of my life you then i think you will understand better what i really am saying about this matter... I was not born into a Christian home,, far from it.. In my home was alot of heartache, violence and lies, nobody keep rules all respected the law of the land and God didn't exist in our home...my brothers, sisters and myself included were eventually all taken into the welfare system.. Fortunately for me I spent some time with a lovely Christian family that really took care of me and showed me Jesus.. They tool me to Church and gave me a different life.. I had alot of deep emotional problems and they prayed for me diligently.. With in this time I gave my heart to Jesus but i didn't understand how it was meant to be.. I just believed and I felt loved by something bigger that me.. Through the years unknowingly his hand was on my life.. Within this time my father became a seventh day Adventist and oh my gosh what a dramatic change.. He changed so much that I Felt totally rejected by him.. Nothing i did was good enough.. He went from a really violent angry man to a strict as religious Man.. I found it hard because even thou he was violent before he accepted me for me.. But when he became a christian it was all about obedience and law and wrath.. It was terribly scary and he would force the bible onto me.... I had done many bible studies through the with my foster parents, church and at camps, but this was not nice this was law wrath judgement, end of the world stuff etc.. i am sure you know what i mean!!! It traumatised me even more and it made me terrified of God it put me off the Seventh day Adventist CHurch.. I spent the rest of my life wondering around in a lost state, until my 2 children came home one day and told me about Jesus.. they had been going to Elim Church.. I started to go because they begged me and very quickly i gave my life bak into Gods hand.. He used them to pull me into his arms.. i had just lost my mother, my partner had left and my dad had a brain tumour, so I was a bit of a wreck... Now something really intersting took place within that time,, I found myself taking my kids to the Seventh day Adventist Playgroup.. I had heard so much about it that I went along one day and had a look.. and wow I got such a shock.. It was so awesome that I kept on returning there every week.. I loved it there and there was no pressure what so ever.. I then started taking the kids to church and man they really taught my kids about God, and Jesus.. My kids were coming home with all the same dtorie \i learnt as a kids and they began to memorize scripture.. I started to find that I began to do it to.. It was awesome... I found when I prayed God with the scriptures I learnt would just turn up move... I felt safe and in that church i felt God's love like i never felt it before.. It was strange..This made me wonder why my dad was so religious because the church I was going to isn't like that at all.. they are very open to all denominations and Love the Lord just as much as any other Christian I know.. Then one day it ocured to me that different personality types suck up the word in different ways.. If you are an easy going person then you will find God to be easygoing.. If you are a strict and dominating person then you will see God like that.. if you focus on doom and gloom and are a controlling person then you will reflect that onto God and you will absorb and focus in the negative side of the word and take it out of context.. I know many well meaning Christians who are doing just that.. Unfortunately for the Adventist church alot of members have been in the past like that.... But I have noticed now that there is a great shift in the spirit and God is working in many of them.. Many adventist that bring up their children in the SDA church haven't fully understood Gods Grace while many others now in the church do.. YOu have to remember that the Adventist Church was established over 150 years ago in very strict times.. So that strictness came from there roots..It has been laid in the foundations of there faith and church.. But it is changing God is working in them, just as much as he is working in every other person to bring them to a full understanding and the know of his will.. Since all this has happen, i have been to many different churches, and I can tell you that God is working in the Adventist church just as much as he is working in all the others.. If the Law was been put before God then the spirit couldn't move and Gods word through the preacher wouldn't have an impact, because we know that the letter of the law kills the things of the spirit... Everytime i go ther I cry and i am touched by the Lord i can hear his voice and sense his leading.. i always walk out of their with a clear mind and an unjumbled heart.. I have always had an encounter with him there.. And as for my dad well he is still an adventist and it has taken along time but he is softening, God is working through those preachers to soften my dads heart and that means alot to me... He is coming around to God.. Hallelujah:)

what exactly am i rejecting o.O?

@ carla welcome to the forum, and that is a lovely story there are some nice and humble people out there, hope one day God finds them with his grace but they have some people who are filthy but yet righteous in the eyes of people and are the total opposite i see it alot nowadays

what exactly am i rejecting o.O?
To the verses I copied. You have spoken against works, saying we must only listen to love, etc. all law is out as if love and law is not the same. That we must only go by the new law, you have spoken against the law of Moses saying the new law is different. And you have certainly not upheld that the letter of the law will not pass.

how have i spoken against works? your led by the spirit on what to do where we abide in christ, it makes no sense we continue this conversation, you and the others just ignore what i said in post #95 because you have no understanding or anwser to it and i'm sure your conscience must be telling you something is wrong but you don't want to acknowledge that, everything i say you just disagree on it and say " nope 10 commandments only" but the bible said this.. " nope 10 commandments only" that's all that is happening here it's like a cycle that you can't get out of and none of you realise your fault when something is presented it's like you go back into your little cycle and say " nope anything against religiously following the 10 commandments is wrong" if your ready( anyone ) to actually be a reasonable person and have a reasonable conversation and not ignore the facts you can tell me anytime but i'm not gonna waste my time with people who has blocked their ears from ever understand, that's all most of you just do ignore the facts and go right back into that cycle.. well it's getting you no where and pushing you further away from God or ever knowing him

"Oh how love I your Law, it is my meditation all day long" "The law is holy just and right" "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul." " Jesus was made under the Law" Jesus was totally "separate from sin" God gave the law so Israel would know what to obey to be blessed of God. "Trust in the LORD and do good, so shall you be feed, refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword" What we see when we look at Israel, a wealth, blessed, health nation when they obeyed God; But when they rebelled and worshiped false gods, they were cursed and punished for their sins. Why is America being cursed by God today? WE have forsaken God's laws! Why are churches being cursed , they have turned away from God's laws. God is causing so much division because we have no unity in the truth. In the early 1900 hundreds America was strong, because the majority lived by absolute standards from God's word. Now, the churches are not demanding good works with faith for salvation; so God is cursing our country and believing churches. Jesus is the holy light of God's law, and only they who submit to doing good are accepted by Him. Only those who do good works will come to Jesus for salvation, because their doing good works, shows that they are "born of God" Jh.3:21 "only trusting "Jesus never save a soul. Love to all, Hoffco

[h=3]Ephesians 2:8-9[/h]King James Version (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
