There's a quip in there somewhere but I have not had enough coffee yet this morning to express(o) it...
You are correct. I put 2 thoughts together. I don't know of any normal sickness that the congregation suffers from.
More accurately, we followed the same practice of staying home when a sickness arose.
That's an excellent catch, especially before coffee.

Another local church were hosting an 'Alpha Course', but as soon as I walked in with my chums I decided i didn't like the vibes, so i u-turned and walked straight back out.
As I made my way down the street one of the group leaders came hurrying after me shouting "Wait, please come back'", it was like trying to escape from Colditz, but I was able to shake him off down a side street and made a home run..:)
I recommend the Alpha Course to our newcomers who say they are recent converts and/or looking for answers related to Christian beliefs. I do have a soft spot in my heart for it, for it was while I was attending the course that I came to the realization that it was geared to convincing people of the Truth of God's revealed written word. Concurrent with that realization came another: I no longer needed any more convincing. This was a major turning point for me, to know I had finally laid down my opposition to God, and I was baptized at the end of the course. .:). That was in 2004 .:D

Normalcy is a sickness in and of itself... (think: the natural man .;):D).

Our church never closed down and has grown since the beginning of covid. The sermons are live on Facebook and saved on other media sites, but no one stayed home unless they were sick like normal.
I don't believe that the condition of normalcy is contagious.

I think if someone made that much effort to share something with me other than a subpoena, I might listen to what they had to say.

Despite my pals talking me into going with them to the Alpha Course, I already knew it wasn't my cup of tea, so I saw no point in sticking around..:)

If we are going to get so technical, normalcy is a thing which of itself is neither good or bad. Hence, it serves as a good standard from which to observe deviation.

I have been told that "normal" is a washing machine setting...

Then get new pals and go to their church.

But we are all deviants... none righteous, no, not one! Praise the Lord for He is good!

Exactly. And when you switch to another setting, you have a place from which to measure the difference in results.

That what's we once were...such were some of you. But yes, God be praised for the riches we have been given in the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you put the opening quote tag [ at the beginning, the quote box will be fixed...

Edit time is up now...

Not in a material sense, so let's call it "spiritual DNA"..:)

God said-
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you" (Jeremiah 1:5)

That's an interesting take on that pictorial concept... I like it!

Good to know in the future so I don't deviate from the normal practice.
