When I'm considering a gift for something, I try to find out whether they collect anything. It made me curious as to what participants in this forum might collect. :)

So...do you collect anything? What?

Matthew 6:19-20
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

Whatever seem to be my latest collection. It isn't really anything special, but if the memory behind the object is clear then I may keep it. I have this birthday card I got from my peers during a school trip. A bag of sand from a friend's kid because he just innocently gave me a handful of sand. I still got this dollar from this girl I liked in grade school only because it was my change from a bake sale. An old digital watch from my father. A black bear figurine I found on the ground. The story behind the bear was that my aunt wanted to go for a ride, and she wanted me to come along. "Maybe we'll see a bear." she said. We took this road into the woods and drove for a good hour. Nothing. So, we stopped for a breather, and there on the ground was this toy bear. I picked it up and dusted it off. I smiled because in my mind she was right in one sense or another. I showed her and kept it. I got and stapled an unopened Yatzee game to my wall. I got it for Christmas from a family member last year. I got this letter and package from a friend in the states. I lost everything except the envelope.

What I have is meaningful junk with people behind in thought of it. When your poor and don't have much, it's the thought that counts, right?

I collect batman graphic novels (though it's a small collection :() I used to collect band t-shirts when I went to concerts every weekend, but I got rid of most of them.

I only collect the really important stuff.. you know like shoes, purses, clothes.... ;)

Maybe I have to finally admit to being a little older because lately all I seem to collect is dust.

I used to collect CD's. Well, not really 'collect' but had so many it was like a collection. But i left them all in CA, and not sure if i'll ever get them back. Many rare and out of prints as well.
When i was younger i had a small candle collection, but left that in FL. Think most are gone now.
Now i guess all i 'collect' is MP3 albums.

I reeeeally like this! Treasures indeed :)

I collect snowmen, nutcrackers, Santas, and peacocks.

When my older stepbrother passed away, we found that he had a whole walk-in closet full of old albums he'd been collecting since his teens and a turntable. :) I have the turntable and a lot of the albums.

I collect speeding tickets.

I had one of those collections in my younger years :D

Although I'm not an avid collector of anything, I do have a small knife collection and a handful of collectible items with wolf artwork. In more recent years I've begun to collect aches and pains too.

I have a few guns and knives, but not really enough to be considered a collection.

I collect compliments. :D I have 4 snowboards, I guess that counts as collection. :)

I collect pieces of love and memories that I get from the people around me. Well, actually I don't. I just wanted to say one of those cliché answers people give. I don't collect anything. You all can ignore my post now.

Hmm...I used to collect things, but not as much anymore. If I do have any 'collection', then it's of items I've purchased in different countries, momentos of things I've done, or other such streams of thinking. I have carvings, sculptures, instruments, ext. find some curiosities or cool things from around the world, and I'll probably like it. I'm into both ancient and modern.

..but as a poor college student, money and gift cards are always appreciated!

...and as someone studying to be a pastor, you involuntarily (and voluntarily sometimes) always come into a collection of your own personal library, lol. ^^()

I was just looking at my bookcases and it would appear that I've collected quite a few old books and Bibles. I don't put my treasure in things, but I would have to admit being pretty attached to family photographs and my books. :)

I take a lot of roadtrips, both for business and fun. I usually buy something fun to remind me of each place I go, so I suppose that might be considered a collection too.

I was not inclined to attach a spiritual value to the question, but as I thought this over, I realized that my greatest collection is my collection of incredible memories. I know this sounds corny (lame, if you're of the younger set), but God has given me an amazing life and I have so many awesome memories of so many times when He blessed me with travel, new friends, caring believers to help pull me through one of those "REALLY BIG ONES", the love of some absolutely beautiful (in spirit) people, and the greatest of all: 20 years of memories of God working through me in ministry.. seeing people fall to their knees and cry out for Jesus to come into their lives, seeing people miraculously healed, seeing broken hearts made whole again, seeing the lonely and forgotten excited and uplifted as they responded to genuine Christian love, and ten thousand more.

Without doubt this is my most valuable and valued collection!

I collect Republican and Democrat campaign collateral. Literature, signs, you name it.

It was funny, one day one of my volunteers spotted a few different Obama pieces in my car and was wondering what was going on.

Believe it or not, the stuff will be worth a lot depending on the campaign. Especially the signed goods.
