is your communion just mouldy old dough or is there an added ingredient that makes it 'holy' communion - it seems this extra ingredient makes all the difference - wincam

Can you explain or our communion will be one big pretzel?

Does your recipe use Holy Water? You can use ordinary tap water in a pinch if you make the sign of the cross over it before mixing with the dough.

Personally, I would not refer to it as communion. This promotes the false belief of Consubstantiation which states the elements are joined with the body and blood of Jesus. I believe it is simply a picture of the body and blood of Christ.

When we do it we are remembering our Savior's body which was broken for us. How special that is!

The ingredient that makes us "holy" and also enjoins us into One body (one bread) is the "Holy" Spirit.

2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:17
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. :)

Interesting take. Scriptures use the term so why not we?...

1 Corinthians 10:16 KJVS
[16] The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

It's all about His Sacrifice and Promise...let's leave us out of the ingredients.

If Jesus thought we should be left out of it He would not have asked us to "do this in remembrance of me" :)

Some poeple go to communion once a year on easter ... but have no faith - they do it as an empty ritual that others expect ... that is pointless.

We partake of the Ingredient...we are not the ingredient

So what makes a piece of Weston or a Hostie special? To me it is just wheat until we add the ingredient of faith.

To an atheist a hostie is a wafer with no meaning ... to someone with faith in Christ it is His body.

Our faith does not create the reality but God's Word does. Faith simply believes what God already says is so.

we do not place faith in communion it only a ceremony to remember what Christ did at the cross and that is where our faith should be placed.
