So why do you cite it as the ideal example of corporate worship?

I cite it as the model for what the church is supposed to look like. The modern ornate chapel, cathedral, and the like are fashioned after the pagan temples and do not represent christianity

The early church never took it corporate.....Satan is the one who franchised it and slapped a logo on the top of every 'church" around the world

We know Jesus would not support most of the multi site mega monstrosities; however, even many small churches are following this "franchise model"

None of it is biblical, I dare you to support with scripture

Read the Purpose Driven Church and the modern marketing techniques used to give us American Church:
Take out the crossess
wear shorts
short sermonettes that make one feel good and don't convict of sin
modern contemporary worship, whatever that means
Relevant messages from Gods word (as if the sermon on the mount wasn't relevant for today)

church at home is fine either you invite some people over to fellowship together (pray, enjoy a meal, laugh and sing, read Bible stories) or you go visit another church member

but for many people who dont have the means, a central gathering place is easiest at a regular time (usually Sundays at 10 for most) doesnt even have to be indoors can be outside under a tree or whatever

Im using Acts to support the small house gatherings that represent the church, and that's in scripture; show me verses that support your model ? The elaborate Temple that was Gods house was destroyed. So please, chapter and verse or quit misleading these people reading this

oh. thought the thread was about congregational worship not corporate worship they must be different things.

The body of Christ is made up of many people though

We are not to forsake gathering together but sometimes its hard...I mean zoom meetings are not the same
though some people do think its like a big party every week.. and are under a lot of pressure to put on an event. It doesnt need to be like that

I think as long as we dont forget to meet each other when we can. I think people get stuck in routines though people actually like routines sometimes you can outgrow a church when youve done that time to get out and preach, spread the gospel to others

anyway with churches not one size fits all. The seven churches in revelation all has their shortcomings..I think they were aware that things were not right even way back then, mostly to do with idolatry getting in. Just need to guard against that, I notice sometimes musicans can be problematic, some are immature and not giving the glory to God. But false teachers also, especially very charismatic ones can be dangerous, preachers that think the pulpit is a place to air their opinions, or politics which is misguided to say the least

If theres too much of that going on its far better to just read your bible at home without all the advertising!

otherwise just do your best to worship in spirit and in truth

I posit that this is not the behavior of a Spirit filled person, has on Jesus own teachings of loving one another, especially your enemy

Doing something sinful just because you are God doesn't make it ok. In fact, it is contradictory to all of scripture
