On Thursday night, October 8, 2026, my life changed forever. My wife Darlene (JesusLives) passed away.

Like most of life's circumstances, this turn of events was unexpected. She was my best friend and traveling companion of my life's journey but for some unexplained reason, God took her away from me.

Now, I have to get my financial affairs in order, such as notifying Social Security, calling the life insurance company, and at the same time, making sure that the bills keep getting paid. My wife used to handle the financial aspects but now it is up to me.

The house is a bit of a mess as my wife was somewhat of a clutter bug. First, I get rid of the clutter in the house and then start moving things out of the house that I don't want to keep. Believe me this will be a major undertaking and will take considerable time and effort. Eventually I will sell my house and leave the state of Tennessee as there is nothing here for me.

I still plan to keep working at my McDonald's job for the time being. This will provide extra needed income and besides that, get me away from this empty house that I live in.

My two cats, Tango and Sugar will have to adjust not having mommy around anymore, but they still have their daddy and I will continue to take care and love them as I have done.

I know that I will see my wife again but not again on this earthly plane. I know that God is with me but my wife was the one that I could touch and hold. She was the love of my life.

Now she is gone. Now I am alone.

I have noticed in your posts that sometimes you would both be involved. It gave me a warmth sensing your relationship.
I know a bit about social security, providing the rules have not changed in the past ten years.
If your wife made more than you in benefits received, you may have the possibility of receiving back pay on your benefits. I may be all wet, but it is worth looking into.
May God bless you with great peace and great memories. I hope to see you both one day, His Day, amen.

Is there a special song she liked?
Are you thinking of moving back to Florida?

Thanks for sharing. Life is meant to be an adventure. The Lords mercies are new each morning.

I definitely want to see my family in Florida but if I move anywhere, it will probably be in Michigan where my daughter, her husband, and my 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren live.

It's been 5 years since I have seen my daughter and 6 years since I have seen my family in Florida.

There is a lot to be done however before even contemplating any such move wherever it may be.

Right now, I feel isolated and alone in the world.

I am not aware of any special song that my late wife liked but I do know that she very much enjoyed our dailly bible readings, prayer, and devotions together.

I agree with you that life is meant to be an adventure. I have always thought that this was so. I pray for God's mercy and compassion each morning and have for years and will continue to do so.

I think she would have liked Amazing Grace.

Most everyone, Christian or no, has heard of that one. Something about it.

When I feel alone, I put on some music it always helps me feel better...even if it's just the blues

God Bless you always
