Maybe it would have been better to never have shared my past on a public forum. But those psychological problems are learnt, it's not the same. And I'm not disagreeing with my mother, even though she said it more directly. Then I would have. The cause and the result are still the same. I guess it really comes down to who do we fear, God or man?
The thing is, every person, to some extent, has a personalized version of God for their own self, and that version is the one they often try to impose onto other people.

People will say, "God is against evil, and such-and-such is evil, so you shouldn't support (insert name of pastor, political leader, group, or organization you personally feel is un-Godly here.)"

And if you disagree with something on that list, they will say, "Well I speak the truth from God, so you're not going against me, you're going against God."

This is just me, and it's because of how cynical I've become from watching people abuse what they say "is from God" over and over, or have good intentions but pair it with misapplication, but I am very cautious when people want to speak correction without any interest in knowing more about the person or their situation. I don't trust it when someone sets themself up as a spiritual doctor but has no personal investment in the patient or sharing their own walk.

But as you said, everyone is different.

It's just that for me, the Bible says that God will not acknowledge everyone who says to Him, "Lord, Lord."

Likewise, I don't take people all that seriously who say, "Thus saith the Lord," but don't seem to care much about the individuality of the person they're addressing, nor do they offer any proof of their own adherence to what they preach.

I like you a lot, Daisy, and I wish you and your family all the best.

But I disagree with the approach your mother is taking with some of the people here, especially those with long histories that they've shared over time. She knows nothing about them except a post or two, and doesn't seem interested in them beyond that.

However, I know she is doing what she feels God is calling her to do.

But, I'm doing likewise, which is to speak against some things I believe were wrong assumptions about @Subhumanoidal after having read about his life for so many years, and to offer a different perspective.

I'm looking forward to when your mother gets her own account.

Maybe then she will share more about herself, and we can learn more about her -- as she also learns more about us.

God makes everyone different. I've seen many people my moms helped over the years. I wondered too, because like you say, Christians often stay in one place and mind their vineyard that God has given them. Often we only meet people 1- 3 times, and then years later, I think that's just how my mothers been called to serve.
As for the discussion at hand, the psychologist will tell you there's no wrong way, and people of today say their grey area is where their neither right nor wrong but the bible lays out almost every part of our lives, every right and wrong is defined.

Maybe it would have been better to never have shared my past on a public forum. But those psychological problems are learnt, it's not the same. And I'm not disagreeing with my mother, even though she said it more directly. Then I would have. The cause and the result are still the same. This is a post I just wrote in another thread:

-- "Many years ago I was at a church that was becoming a family affair -- as in, only members from one family were being approved for leadership positions. Outsiders were unwelcome or expected to be molded into the hive, and if they couldn't be shaped to specification, they were pushed out or let go.

Doctrinally, everything seemed sound. But for some reason, I was uneasy. I asked God why.

One day, I sat down with a sheet of lined school paper and felt God was saying to me, "Spiritual Cloning Produces Spiritual Inbreeding." And here's the illustration He gave me:

(I tried leaving spaces before each set of numbers but the system isn't letting me do that -- it pushes all the numbers to the left and makes them even. Please look at this as if the *** aren't there -- the main point is showing how far to the right the numbers get pushed every time they are repeated.)

123
*123
**123
***123
****123

Notice that technically, the "same" thing is being reproduced every time -- 1, 2, 3.

But what God pointed out to me is that every time it gets duplicated -- every time the church molded someone else to take over and be exactly like them -- the row of numbers drifts further and further from the margin, which is the original will of God." --

My point in the context of this thread is that yes, people can recite Bible passages and truth from the Bible until they're blue in the face, and yes, technically it's Biblical truth.

But without knowing much about the person or their circumstance, the person might be reciting truths from the Bible but still miss the mark, because they are so far away from the edge of the page of where God wants them when speaking to the other person.

And if these show no interest in the 'patient' then, by default, they come across as doing all for self-interests. I mean what doctor is going to admit that "I only got into this for the money (or prestigious title)."

That's a good diagram of how such a thing works out. I might add that, if one aspect or another is so rigorously emphasized, then it ends up rererepeated.
so then it would like...

This is exactly why my Spidey Senses go off anytime I'm around church people who always want to lead, preach, teach, and correct -- but show no actual interest in people other than as wayward flock to be tamed and that they are to be glorified due to their mad correctional skills. (Oh, it's mad all right.)

I'm doubly skeptical when they never mention any of their own shortcomings and/or won't accept correction themselves, as if they don't think they sin and can perfectly interpret the will and Word of God in any and every situation. The Bible says they will be judged to a higher standard -- and they need to show at least some kind of proof/credibility that they actually live up to that.

And if I'm around any Christian who gives me a Valley of the Dolls vibe (programmed spiritual robot who keeps repeating itself,) I run for my life -- and take everyone else who will listen with me.

In the context that God was talking to me about, the emphasis was on the "1 2 3" because each spiritual "clone" sounded identical.

They taught and preached all the same things; adhered to the same principles; expected that the same rules be followed, without any additions, subtractions, or exceptions.

Which is why I was so confused at the time -- because what they were saying "sounded" correct, because they were parroting back all the same things.

But since they kept moving so far away from the original margin of the page (following their own agenda of what was important, and cutting out anyone who said otherwise,) this was where things were going wrong.

They said all the "right" things but in the process, shifted further and further away moving away from what God originally wanted them to be focused on.

This is something I look at very closely when listening to spiritual "authorities."

Yes, I thought the same, but the account I started had not received the email to be able to comment yet. She has always been direct; she is not being judgmental, that's just how she is. People have always said she can get to the heart of the matter.

"It is my Christian duty to warn of the destruction to come so that when you are before the Lord, you cannot say Father, you did not know " basically this or that was wrong
Alright. To be clear, I wasn't saying that your mom should not be posting, that is between her and God (though I do disagree with most of her assumptions about @Subhumanoidal ).

However, allowing her to post on your account is confusing to other members, and (in my opinion) detrimental to your own sense of identity. You are your own person with your own way of expressing things, and you deserve to be seen as such.

Sure, warning of destruction can be an element of our Christian duty, but so is encouraging and praying for each other. I would be extremely careful about performing the "warning" aspect without heavy doses of the encouraging and praying thrown in beforehand. If your mother gets her account going then she will be better able to fulfill her FULL Christian duty here, and perhaps we will be able to take her words more seriously.

You said:

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. But you mean:

These verses highlight the profound impact of evil actions and thoughts on our emotional well-being.

As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee. Meaning: I will not touch any evil thing. The most ancient saying: Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.' This statement reflects the biblical principle that one's actions directly result from one's character. It echoes the idea found in passages like Matthew 7:17-18, where Jesus teaches that a good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit.

Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What say I then? That the idol is anything, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 1 Corinthians 10:212 Corinthians 7:10
The Bible warns against the sorrow of worshipping evil, emphasizing that it leads to death. In 2 Corinthians 7:10, it states, "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." This verse highlights the contrast between godly sorrow, which is a sign of true repentance and leads to salvation, and the sorrow of the world, which is a sign of false worship and leads to death. The Bible encourages believers to seek godly sorrow, which is a sign of a heart that is truly committed to God and is willing to turn away from evil. Subhumanoid you really mean: but the sorrows of the world worketh death that yours as in 2 Corinthians 7:10. Not:ecclessiastes 7:3.I knew right away you were talking about this kind of evil sorrow with your name subhumanoid. And there you are in the last part of your letter. @Subhumanoidal, you have a lot of gall to blame the church for asking a satanic-worshipping metal band member female who wore clothing with satanic symbols—and x-rated cursings and unimaginable Violence in the writings on her clothing, which she probably thought was a very funny thing to do. as she directed against the heavenly host. Yes, she said she was curious about God. She went to church to intimidate the people at the church service. And you know she did not go alone. She took along some of her friends; that was just their nature.

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so, shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Matthew 12:45. Yes, the Bible says to go into all the world and preach the gospel, but enjoying evil things is forbidden to Christians: There are lyrics in the death metal music you listen to that say these things in their songs. Sadly, the songs you listen to say worse things than murder, sexual immorality, Violence, lying, animal cruelty, hatred of women, hatred of children, despising purity and goodness and slandering and fighting against God. Only a Godless hyena would listen to evil music that defames Our glorious God.
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.1 Corinthians 6:18The Bible emphasizes the importance of despising evil and embracing goodness. Proverbs 8:13 states, "To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech." Romans 12:9 instructs believers, "Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good." These verses highlight the internal and external responses to despising evil, reflecting a commitment to righteousness and alignment with God's will.
Wow. What a load of BS. At no point did I say what the woman was wearing to that church. You're assuming this, or in actuality, making it up completely.
Zero proof of her taking friends with her. And zero reason to believe she was there to intimidate anyone. More things you fabricated.
Man could you be anymore judgemental? How pathetic that you have to fabricate and lie while trying to scold me.
How am I to take you serious when you say things like that? *rolls eyes

Dear Subhumannoidal,

The Bible says as a man's name is, so is he. I wonder why a person would choose an evil name when there are so many fantastic bible names that are edifying to other people. When they read the person's names, like Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, etc., you could have called yourself Calvery Cross, Golgotha, or Gethsemane. But you did not choose any of those names. You choose sub-humanoid, and that is what you are. You decided to call yourselves sub-humanoid. The name subhumanoid is an offence to the Lord God. Subhumanoid is a sin offence to God. Your choice indicated that you would rebelliously and stiff necked you would cling to your sins while declaring your innocence. But I have told thousands of individuals about the Lord Jesus' great love for mankind and how the Lord God loves you very much. If you were the only person in the world, the Lord Jesus would have suffered and gone to Calvery's cross so you could be saved. Jesus loves you so much. If you realize how much Jesus loves you, you will be amazed at Jesus's supernatural, powerful, holy love for you. And Jesus, the one person without sin, wants you, a Godless sinner, to repent and come to him today while you can. The Bible says now is the acceptable time to come to the Lord and be saved. The Bible say:

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. Proverbs 21:2: You can be saved by believing and trusting in The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth; repent of your sins and stop willfully sinning. Jesus can change your hard heart to a fleshly, soft heart. The Lord really wants to save you from hell and damnation. Do you know that in hell, there is no water to drink? If you don't think that would be utterly agonizing, try going a few days without drinking any fluids and let me know how that goes for you. The Bible says:

  1. He called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames.' Luke 16:24 The Bible says:
The phrase "devil masquerades as an angel of the light" is a biblical reference . This verse states that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light to deceive people into believing he is good and truthful. This deception is part of Satan's strategy to lead people away from God and into sin. The verse serves as a warning to believers to be cautious and discerning, as Satan often uses false pretenses to manipulate and mislead. 2 corinthians 11:14. Subhamanoid you said you have been listening to metal for 36 years. You are aware of music that can negatively impact or "affect." on you, and you avoid it. Do you speak as someone who thinks he can establish the boundary of good and evil for himself? Also, he doesn't feel it is important to abstain from evil music or things with evil logos written all over them. The Bible says we are not to touch any evil thing that is known to be dedicated to the devil or demons. I know that Violence and lying go hand in hand. Sub-humanoid said that most of the band was not into satanism. Is not Satan called the father of lies, and if one of the band members is a satan worshiper, they all are because they have willingly accepted that evil person{s} into their band? The Bible says: can two men walk to gather and not agree? The Bible says one bad or rotten fig will turn the whole basket of figs rotten. Subhumanoid: do you think you are mentally strong enough to ward off all the wilds of the devil, or do you believe you are more abundant in wisdom than Our Lord God?
Jeremiah 24:2
Well since you Never Asked Me about my name, I'll tell you anyways.
I went through a period where I was angry at God. In short I created this account name to reflect how I was often made to feel on this site, under my previous account. Even before I became angry with God and was a Christian.
And also how I felt in God's eyes.
I'm back to following God now. But just not going through the hassle of changing it.

You dont know me. My story. My faith or who I am as an individual, yet falsely believe it's your place to correct me in what I choose to listen too.

At what point did I say I thought I had more wisdom than God? More fabrications and lies.
I have prayed many times in my life for God to tell me if I'm wrong about my choice of music. Never heard a single complaint from God about it.
All you've done is lie, fabricate and judge me, and others, while at the same time attempting to scold me for MY choices? All while not knowing anything more about me as a person, or my history.
You didn't approach me asking questions to try to understand me and my choices, nor to get to know me.
You stood at a distance and believed you saw clearly, while in reality you could see very little.

You, as well as your mother, have discredited yourselves by the things you said. I now have no respect for you, or your false opinions.
It is my belief you need to get the plank out of your own eye before speaking about anyone else's.

This is a letter my mom wrote to you

Dear Subhumanoidal,

Do you realise that being a Christian did not cause you any ailments? they only make any that you have more visible. Have you ever considered that the things you are doing are causing you to be unhappy? It's been reported that the average person sins 3 times a minute.
A Christian that I know had a dream of Rihanna's song Umbrella being sung in hell by a demon. People often don't realise how much whatever you take in can affect your wellbeing and spiritual health. The devil is actively seeking your death. I remember once many years ago, I was looking at the case of a rock band that I had been listening to and noticed the symbols on the CD case cover were all satanic, and the lyrics are anti Christ and the whole band had dedicated themselves to the devil. I looked through all my CDs and got rid of anything with those symbols or where the overall message is negative, and Metallica was one of them. I throw all of them in in the garbage. Those lyrics and that music, they mean something, and it's not for your good. The same way a devil worshiper may cast a spell against his own soul same with these rock songs. Most people are like a bunch of guppies, mindlessly following things that ultimately lead to their own suffering. I've been alarmed since you said you liked death metal. Everyone knows that the devil rules the material world, and anything that is esteemed by man is an abomination to God. There's no hiding from sins. God, the maker of the universe, see you today. God is more powerful than evil. God will triumph over evil.

On this earth, we have to put up with people choosing to do evil, but someday God will put it beneath our feet and we won't have to hear of people's evil deeds any longer, nor will we remember them anymore, and my soul longs for that time.

Christians sometimes suffer loneliness, but not depression even when we are suffering or grieving, we have an inner peace and joy that God gives us.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalm 23:6 Amen.

God bless you,

Branch
Lovely! Your Mom is so on point

Oh. And in the 70s, during the hippy years, I believe it was, there was a pastor by the name of Chuck Smith. He invited the stinky, often barefoot hippies into the church when they showed up. His church leaders complained that they were ruining the carpets, so he had the carpets taken out. They did not like this and fired him.
See, he believed non-believers should be able to come to God as they are. And that included church. So he built his own church and opened it to everyone. Perhaps you've heard of it? Calvary Chapel.
Whereas this girl went to a church like Chuck Smith's original church that didn't let non-believers in unless they came a certain way. And due to that turned her away from God even further.

Oh, and by the way, they actually thanked us for taking the time to talk to them, as every other Christian that approached just scoffed and walked away.
They stated the only other person to talk to them was the vocalist of the headlining band. A man that fronted a Christian death metal band. His faith seemed unbreakable, he proudly proclaimed God as his savior. Even as he went through a battle with cancer, he maintained and expressed his faith.
They basically had a toe tag written for him, all but the time and date. That's how bad things got.
Yet he never broke his faith.

Godless hyena. Is that what I am? 😂😂

Oh, and thanks for telling me "what I mean". And for disregarding the Scripture I posted.

I guess it really comes down to who do we fear, God or man?
I, too, have helped many over the years, be it spiritually or about their day to day life.
My last gf had been attending a bad church for many years. Bad teachings.
She eventually realized how many things she felt they were wrong about. She was trying to pull out of that church and their beliefs, but was struggling.
Over the next few years I helped her to finally break away from the church. She often came to me asking about beliefs they taught and the scriptures they used to back up their beliefs.
So over the years these sorts of discussions sprang up. And I always took the time to help her unlearn and relearn.
She's now in a better headspace and doing better spiritually.

And, yes, God Did make us all differently. I, am different than you, and your mother, so why is it that you feel the need or justification try to turn me into your clones?

The spiritual journey I'm on is Mine, as GOD directs it, not according to how others think how it 'should' be.
So how about not trying to play the part of God's mouthpiece?
If, one day, God convicts me of the music, I'll stop. But to be honest I have SO much more to worry about and focus on and work out, the music I listen to is the least of my problems.

You and your mother might have known that had you bothered to get to know me rather than label me as Godless.

@Daisy2
PS, using varied font sizes and colors doesn't help. I pretty much ignore all of it except what is personally written to me. Fussing around through all that chaos and scripture spamming isn't effective on me.
Giving scripture is fine. Spamming it is annoying. It's not meant to be used as a weapon to bash or drown us "Godless hyenas". The Bible is many things, but that's not among them.

The summary of my thoughts on shallow judgments, and "You who judge according to appearances"...
Scripture says that if your eye is dark, then how great is that darkness... Amalek is known for attacking the most vulnerable, those straggling behind within in the company of the Israelites. He is associated with the 'evil eye' and the 'single eye' is considered is considered looking with light (and I assume this is with God's assistance) and the 'good eye,' for the better to see...

It's often said that people hate others because they see themselves in them. So, if a person sees someone as a floozie, it's because they are, at heart, a floozie.

I keep attracting dark gals.. Goths.. witches.. and etc.

I do not get it, often it happens when I am shining in my Christian ways.

I keep thinking of the verse,
"In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!” (Isaiah 4:`1).

Other than that.. I guess it could be sabotage plans from the enemy camp.

Any advice?
I'm sorry your thread got hijacked. Normally I'd take something like this to PMs, or keep it short. I have no intention on continuing this discussion any further.

Have you considered that it's God bringing them to you? Not to date, but to minister to.
I have had many broken women drawn to me. Not necessarily the dark girls that you mentioned, but more average looking people.
I took that on as I am meant to help these women. Actually it wasn't even a decision, but just natural for me. Not only was I able to help them, but through it I also learned as well.
Even if it starts as a romantic interest in you, which has happened to me before, that doesn't change what they're really longing for. Or why God put you in that spot.
I find, often times, broken women may start with a romantic interest, but once you help them they tend to lose that interest and move on.

I fear (respect) God, but I don't fear your momma at all. Your momma is full of it.

Everything your momma said about Sub is a total crock. If your momma claims to be hearing from the Lord, she needs to check her antennas. They ain't pointing right and she's getting a bad signal somewhere.

That last line you used, that is EXACTLY what seoulsearch is talking about. Did you not even read what seoul said?

It's almost like you're using a script of "how to use Christian lingo to bully people" and not even paying attention.

Thanks to all that backed me up and/or came to my defense. It is greatly appreciated. I know I still have a lot of work within myself and spiritually, but it is encouraging to see people understand that and support me regardless.
