I have been trying to delete Facebook but only was able to deactivate it. I never liked Facebook.

I do not like face book. Even when we delete information it is still saved.

Yeah I am having a hard time deleting it. I am sorry I ever created an account there. I am going to try again to delete the profile.

I think there is a lot of account theft amoung other things and strangely a someone can have loads of face book friends while the real "that one" is bullied and isolated on out of face book.

Heard even whole identities and bank accounts are stolen on advanced organised levels.

If a man or woman is very wealthy but say crippled or lame or not able communicate then and there as or in the "meat" and family , friends and other are all "in on it" ....they will dominate this meat the owner of the wealth and then they steal it and take shares on it and put there name on the work as well and they can link it with face book and "cheating a little" retouching and so forth.
The "meatloaf.com " of a fellow so rich can not assess his/her money and can not ask for it even so dominated be in meat.
Maybe a gimp mask is on or burkas and gollyness and so much hard work day and night and identity theft so real meat is living in poorness as a "thing".
Such discrimination and if all alone with it and so much for others win.
Say a billionaire in hospital and may be does not have friends or family or those does have are not nice and betray..

Then some how this guy must all alone some get wealth to come to his/her meat, real body.....and his/her spirit come with it and empowerment to heal and talk or get a lawyer talk on behalf.

doesn't bother me, I have nothing to hide from anyone. I am an open book. I wouldn't understand why one who wanted a private life woulf create one and share so much in the first place. Mine has no personal photos or information for anyone to see.

Anything that wont fully let you remove yourself is government controlled, such as skype

There is no deletion of FaceBook, only deactivation, which can reactivate as soon as you log in again, plus others can still tag you,..etc.

If you want to delete from FACEBOOK, and I mean you really want to delete from it?

First delete all your photos, and details in your profile. Now deleting your photos wont do much effect as they copy your photos about 6 or 7 times.

Then maybe you can send a few messages to people you know that you are deleting. and put up on the status, they you are deleting.

Then go into you profile. somewhere there is to deactivate your account. yes it does mean that you will deactive your profile. But it will say in 14 days they will perminantly delete your account.

As long as you don't sign in after you have deactivate it, you be fine. But I know temptation will kick in, and you end up reactivating it as soon as you re-log back in.

So you can delete from facebook, but in 14 days after deactivating it. Why 14 days? I not sure, perhaps to copy everything from your profile for there purposes. So in that sense No you Don't actually delete, because they will still have your information to sell on as they do. Nice right? how charming, they temp people to join Facebook, they delve into your private life, then they sell your information. How good of them right? lol

FB is fun! I have friends from all over the world, from all different kinds of backgrounds. I am careful what I post. So what is the problem?

A good friend of mine said she and her husband just got a third warning for communicating in private messages. No swearing and just an "I love you" at the end of the posts. These were supposedly PRIVATE messages they are reading and contained nothing damaging to anyone or plotting to overthrow the government

I have a secret group for people with RA on FB. That means no one who is not in my group even knows it exists. But after reading this, and my friend's story, I realized that FB can read anything we write in our private groups. We are now looking to move to our own private site.

If anyone knows of a way to set up a social group for 15 people so we can discuss the trials of having Rheumatoid Arthritis, that we can keep private, please PM me. FB is so trivial too. Other than getting pictures of my grandchildren, I am really fed up with FB!

@ Angela - change your diet. Please read these booklets Genetically Modified Foods and Healing in His Wings

Angela,

If you want to have a private group for RA, there isn't anything you can do on the internet that is 100% guaranteed to be 100% private.

But for good relative privacy, you can just make a small private forum on any number of free forum sites. You can usually password protect the boards, so people can't get in, or read them. Some of these free forum sites will give you a fairly robust forum, you'll just have a bit of advertising on it. For more privacy, you can also just buy your own domain and hosting plan, and build your own completely private forum on your own website. There are lots of forum applications for doing this.

Setting up a rudimentary forum is pretty easy.

I deleted my FB recently. I didn't like that it was "accidentally" setting my posting options to Public, even though years ago I had set my default to Friends-only. It had done this repeatedly, ignoring the settings I gave it. I didn't post anything embarrassing, but I did not want the public to know the results of a cancer test. That was for friends and family.

I posted a message about deleting it for a couple of days and then deleted it. People started sending me worried messages. Are you ok? Are you mad at me? Are you going to hurt yourself? That sort of thing. It was within the 14 day window, so I undeleted and posted a message about how I'm no longer using Facebook because it doesn't take privacy setting seriously.

So, maybe don't delete it immediately. Leave up a message for a year. Then delete it. Otherwise, people think you're fleeing the law or something.

I thought I had deleted my Facebook account but after reading all this I don't know if Im deleted or deactivated. Does it really matter if I just leave it be and never log into the account again? I only had the account for a few months and only used it for a few emails....still....that place gives me the creeps.

FB is fun! I have friends from all over the world, from all different kinds of backgrounds. I am careful what I post. So what is the problem?

The problem is, whether you have so many friends or not, the fact is that FACEBOOK, sells your personal info. They snoop into your private life. you don't have any privacy. Fair enough you may not be doing anything bad and you maybe using facebook for good reasons. But while you are using it for good reasons, Facebook are making money from you, watching your every move, watching every post you make, snooping into your life and privacy. Surely thats enough to make you think thats a problem?.

It's discusting that they do that. How do you really feel that your information is sold to third parties, ever wonder why you get cold callers? ever wondered why you get spam mails? ever wondered why you get hacked by using facebook apps and games? and thats another thing, Facebook don't check the apps, Why? because they know a lot of apps and games are hacking tools to gain more information for you and your computer and facebook are getting paid by these people who upload games and apps to facebook for you people to use.

I'm not trying to scare you into leaving facebook. Im not saying for you to delete. But you asked whats the problem. and I told you. and lets put it this way. Facebook is about to get worse, but you will see the more you use it. Facebook can be used for good, and if you use it wisely and sensibly, great it can be a good place to meet new friends, though they not your real persoanl friends, just online friends. and how many are the people on facebook? one wonders! anyways. like I said you can use Facebook for good, But what lurks behind your good use of facebook? thats the problem.

i dont care if people i know went to high school. Want to know what's scarier than facebook? Google. And I said that for a reason. They match your ads based on what you search. And Facebook makes most of its profit from games in the first place...not from selling your personal info. Either way, it is the internet...so you can't expect their site to be truly pure. You'd be a fool if you expected them to respect your privacy just because they said they would. You also have the choice of what information you choose to have on there. I don't care if people know what church I go to and what school I graduated from. That stays as public record with the schools. If you don't want something on the internet, then don't put it on the internet in the first place...

I haven't eaten GMO's in 2 years now. I am a vegetarian and have been for 40 years. I grow my own produce, and I buy locally from organic farmers food that I cannot grow. I've been gluten free, carb free, nightshade free for 6 months to a year, and it made no difference.

I know of people who changing their diet helped their RA. It hasn't helped me at all. I have progressive, linear RA, and it never stops without powerful drugs. I know I am healthier for other things because of what I eat, but sadly, it does not work for RA for me.

As for the "Healing in His Wings" link, I found it odd to find Sura 26:80-81 as part of the advice. The Qur'an?? And 12 commandments??? Sounds like legalism with a new twist!

Oh, woops! I see this person has been banned! Well, no problem with that!

as ar as i'm concerned if you put something on the internet so right of privacy exists or can be expected.

#1 rule of the internet, dont post personal info all over the place. (DUH!)
use dummy accounts.. you know fake names on garbage book. fake bdays, take no pictures of yourself 0 notta zilch none.
ditch the cell phones. seriously the cell phone is nothing more then a government spy device people have accepted. walk away from it. you do not need it. seriously you dont need it.
If you have to talk to someone about serious stuff. do it in person.
