No the Pharisees did NOT teach the Law...
Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
This is correct, it is THEIR choice. Doesn't mean it is God's choice or correct but it is their choice.

You should first take into account you are addressing family in Jesus Christ who know why they observe the Sabbath on the Seventh Day, and how they do it.
It is never wrong to do good on the Sabbath, driving a car or walking has nothing to do with mundane labor, and even that is excused if a person must work to keep his or her family. Do not be glib about how another's servant serves for none of us are given to that type of judgment, not yet.

I do not have any issue in observing the Sabbath... In fact it is beneficial even to the body to take a day rest.
But some here are making the Sabbath a stumbling block to others...
even to the point of condemning those who gathered on Sunday and branding "God worshipper on Sunday" as belonging to the Beast kingdom...
That is why, the question on what is good to do on Sabbath...
walking or Driving...
If you are going to base the righteousness on what is not to do on Sabbath...then you need to have a standard law to follow...Not one sided.

Oh no...You are not legalists...You are just resting...

Why is it that you say we are not under the old covenant yet you use the old covenant to try to judge us. We live by the teachings of Jesus.

Indeed. Colossi was a pagan society not unlike today, nobody cares if one does not remember the Sabbath or cuss in His name. One is respected if he's into pagan practices. Only when one tries to follow His law would he be deemed weird.

If I read correctly this verse said circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel - which any Israelite would do and would not make one Pharisee by doing such.
If I read correctly this verse said as touching the law, a Pharisee - which did not imply he followed the law. Rather, it might very well indicate that he followed the Pharisee's way of interpretation of the law.
So?
They are not being like the pharisees because they are not following them they are following Christ and his example, The pharisees made it into technicalities like you are doing with those questions.

There is nothing in scripture that altered the original sabbath day from sundown Friday unto sundown Saturday. Saturday is and remains the Sabbath day.
Barnabas and Justin recorded what identifies the switch of the Sabbath to Sunday. Emperor Hadrian (A.D. 117-135), persecuted the Jewish people and particularly for their Saturday (sundowns worship) Sabbath. Early Christians then moved their worship to Sunday so as not to incur the wrath of Hadrian and to play on the sun's day worship, how Sunday actually got it's name, when the Roman pagans, including Hadrian, would worship the sun.
Probably figuring if they as Christians worshiped the son of God on Sun-day, the Romans would leave them to it.
This continued even after the Reformation into the Catholic tradition and the Protestant.

My point being that Christ healed on The Sabbath, he set an example of how it was meant to be kept. The pharisees in the other hand said you can't do anything at all whatsoever, and were questioning Christ of why he healed, Yet they were untying animals to get watered (which by their understanding were not meant to do anything, being technical) How could it be worse to heal someone of more value. That is love, not being technical.
Your questions about shutting lights, driving cars, walking etc are of no importance because their is a bigger picture, if your neighbor needs help we help, that is love, if you crash and your baby is unconscious out of love you will take have him go to the hospital out of love. So stop making it about technical things, because it is not about that.
It is just a question...Your answer then will determine how you observed the Sabbath...to understand your teaching...
we can then compare it...and what are the work that are not allowed in your congregation and how is it different to others..
I guess it depends on where to rather than which day.
actually it depends on the teaching of Sabbath...
If the congregation prohibit electronics on Sabbath...
Then those who are far can rent a room/hotel that is near in the congregation or synagogue to be able to walk on Sabbath and not drive.
That is if you consider walking as good.
This is exactly what you guys are doing...
I gave you the example of walking vs driving to show you the hypocrisy of some congregation with regards to Sabbath keeping and that this whole thread is based on the same principle....
Many of you who keep the Sabbath are like those Pharisees you have just mentioned...
IS it good to Worship God on Sunday????
Some of you have branded those who worship God on Sunday as belonging to the Beast kingdom...
SHAME ON YOU...
You branded them cleansed by the Blood of Christ...the same blood that cleansed you...
are you now...more righteous than them???
