do we or dont we follow the sabbath?

Thanks for your answer JaumeJ :).

So do i have to hold Sabbath from Fridaynight till Saturdaynight or can i choose the day. For example Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or do we have to LOOK to Fridaynight till Saturdaynight?

The 4th commandment should not be overlooked or spiritualized away. Agreed on that.
 
It is not a dreaded day where we lay down and fear being stoned for picking up our beds.

It is a day when i would not accept any money for work but will do good.

Many will dig up scripture to say we are breaking the Sabbath because of things we do or do not.

Some will say we are in different time zones and observe not the Sabbath.

That is going to the letter of the law to judge people by and will most likely be done by those not observing.

It is not about judging one and other for if we observe then it is observed not to one and other but to Heavenly Father.

It is a refreshing delight when our Spirit rests in the Messiah.

Matthew 11

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Isaiah 58

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:14Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

After I became saved and started growing in the Grace of God, I began taking on a new perspective. My focus was more tuned to being guided by the Holy Spirit. Gender, time, duties, etc. became less important and obedience to the Living Word of God within became more and more important. I delight in the glory or God each day. And I make it a point not to be bothered by the cares of the world each day.

I'm often surprised by how those who have been unbound by the Grace of God to live by the Spirit continue to try and bind themselves in the law. But then again, I'm sure I do it as well from time to time. :)[/FONT]

Let's read from the word of God when "rebirth" truly happens. Let's first go to the scripture provided;

1 John 3
[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Let's read again part of the above;

"...and it doth not yet appear what we shall be..."

At this moment we do not know just how we will appear or exactly what will happen when Jesus returns. But let's read the assurance He does give;

"...but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."


Jesus tells us it will be when He appears shall we be like Him.....NOT before.


So....have we been given rebirth as Christ has been reborn at this time? No we have not...but we will! When? Just when the scriptures tell us above; "...when he shall appear..."

Now let's confirm this with other scriptures;

1 Cor.15
[51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Now let's read if any other saint received this change;

Heb.11
[4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain,.....
[5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found...
[7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet,...
[8] By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place...
[20] By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
[21] By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph
[22] By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel
[24] By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;[32] And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

And did ANY of these saints receive their change yet? Let's read.....

[39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
[40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

And when will perfection/rebirth be given? Let's read it.....agian;

You seem to be level headed and collected. Read the Word, or continue reading it, and you will know just what pleases the One Who loves you enough to have suffered and died just for you... Please share with me when you have determined what is best for you in the sight of the Father. You already know that I love to observe what I consider to be the 7th day so as to be as much like Jesus as possible. this law leads to death Jesus died to free us from the 613 rules and instead told us our hearts need to change not what day of the week we worship. Love you all :) even that guy with the beard that always argues with me lol!

Jesus freed us from the laws and ordinances of the book, which as Paul said were against us. This law was a separate law from the ten commandments, which Paul nor Jesus ever said we were not obligated to obey. In fact Jesus said the first and most important commandment is to love God. If we keep this commandment that Jesus gives, it is impossible not to keep all the ten commandments.
Is it possible to love God, while worshiping Buda, Krishna, Ala or any other false god? No!
Is it possible to love God, while bowing down before a statue of an elephant, the virgin Mary or any other graven image? No!
Is it possible to love God, while using His name without a good reason? No!
Is it possible to love God, While totally and deliberately ignoring His instructions concerning the Sabbath? No!
Is it possible to love your neighbor, while you are robbing them, lying to or about them, sleeping with his/her spouse, killing them, or etc? No!
A correct understanding of the two different OT Laws is needed by many. We were never free to disregard any of the Gods commands, which are written in stone and kept in the top of the arc with Aarons rod. We are however, free from the book of laws and ordinances that Moses compiled on parchment, and were kept in a compartment in the side of the arc.
The Jewish/Mosaic law of the book, is the law Paul says we have been freed from. Nowhere in scripture, does it say we are free to disregard any of Gods ten commands.

Here's a couple of thoughts:
Jesus said He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Jesus, the apostles and paul observed the Sabbath.

For this next thought please understand I have nothing against catholics, there are some very awesome people in that religion, I just don't agree with their leaders.

With that being said
I read an article a few days ago that stated the catholic church admitted to changing the Sabbath from saturday to sunday for the purpose of ch*changing God's law. And that anybody that follows this change is in agreement with the catholic church

Acts 17:2


As was Paul’s custom, he went to the synagogue service, and for three Sabbaths in a row he used the Scriptures to reason with the people.




Christians believe the early church began meeting on Sundays soon after Christ rose from the dead, in honor of the Lord's resurrection, which took place on a Sunday, or the first day of the week. This verse has Paul instructing the churches to meet together on the first day of the week (Sunday) to give offerings:

1 Corinthians 16:1-2


Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

And when Paul met with believers in Troas to worship and celebrate
communion, they gathered on the first day of the week:


Acts 20:7


On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.



　


Interestingly, Acts 2:46 tells us that from the start, the church in Jerusalem met every day in the temple courts and gathered to break bread together in private homes.


So, here is my question. Where do we start or stop.

If you are going to observe Saturday Sabath then it starts at sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

Mark 2:27 .....'The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.'


If we are going to do it correctly then it should meet in synagogue? How long did they meet in Synagogue? Do we use traditional prayers from the SIDDUR. Do we use Artscroll, Misorah, or a Hebrew Prayer book. We can go on, and on, and on, and on with works.

Luke 6:5 where Jesus says he is "Lord even of the Sabbath," implying that he has the power to change the Sabbath to a different day. Read Luke chapter 5,6.

Exodus 20:8-11
 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

I am convicted that the point is to observe it in love. Not argue and cause striff over what day.

　

　

　
 
................ Again if today is friday evening for me on my side of the planet and I observe the commandment of the sabbath, what of those who break it on the other side of the globe? Will we continue to argue and debate these same dead issues over saturday and sunday?
 
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. [SUP]2[/SUP] Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

For good reason, Paul instructed the church at Corinth to do all the work involved in putting together the offering on the first day of the week. This way no gatherings will take place on the Sabbath, when he comes. Putting together an offering as God had prospered, wasn't an easy chore like it is today. You just didn't open your wallet and toss a few dollars in a plate. Livestock needed to be herder, chickens had to be counted, crops had to be divided up. Paul did not want them to risk not getting all this hard work done before the next Sabbath, when he comes to worship with them and teach.
 
Acts 20:7
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

The first day of the week begins at sunset Saturday. This verse is apparently telling us of a Sabbath evening service, where Paul preached on until after midnight, til early Sunday morning.
 
all of the commandments are wanting us to do something but we fail to keep the law perfectly that's why we need Jesus and his gift, as far as the Sabbath day alot of people do follow it but there is an extent of people that are forced to work to survive. but alot of people do follow the Sabbath
 
Acts 2:46
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart

There's absolutely nothing wrong with worshiping together, any day or every day of the week. God loves it when we do. But that does not allow us to disregard the day He sanctified; the Sabbath.
 
Even a child knows when the sun rises it is morning, and when it sets, it is nightfall. And so it goes with when days begin or when they each end. In some areas of the world the separation of the days must be determined by a clock, for in those areas, certain seasons the sun does not set. This does not preclude there being separate days. The belief here for those who claim Yeshua as Savior is guided by the Word, and the Word is pretty easy to understand regarding the commandment about the Sabbath.

If we do not observe the Sabbath, which God made as a gift of love to us, it is a rejection of this love.

Again I ask if I am to observe the sabbath saturday, for those on the other side of the globe are they breaking the commandment?

Because Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, the Sabbath is the Lords day.
