No. We should give only if people are willing to be held accountable for their future. People who don't want responsibility should starve.
Again, we should always judge with right judgment, not simply by sight.

I know of a person who started a business, and although he had just started it investing and all the trimmings, he closed dit and stopped to go to college. Why_ He would have been required to deal with the maffia in order to continue.

Another person who was working for an investment firm quit his work because one of the VP)s had offere to put him through college at his own expense. This lad would not and quit his job in order not to accept something for which he felt unworthy.

There are many reasons people do not work, some are simply in the Way and do not wish to seek those tings people of this age seek.

There are many more good reasons why people will not accept certain types of responsibilities, so, as we are taught, judge with right judgment, never simply by sight.

Oh, I have come across many individuals who want everything for nothing, and I keep clear of them, so in the regard you are spot on so let us keep our holy perspective. God bless you always.

The strange thing also is, the Good Samaritan would have had a hard time finding an "Innkeeper" even if he paid. I tried that a few times but no one would take the person concerned as they viewed the situation suspiciously. They always said "but we have a business to run and cannot have people like that here". Even when we offered to pay. So what would the Good Samaritan have done today? (With no Innkeeper to ask?)

Oh... By the Grace of God!!!!
By the grace of God, people are able bodied,

The sluggard will not plow during the planting season, so at harvest time he looks for the crop but has nothing....
I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of one who lacks wisdom. I saw that thorns had grown up all over it, the ground was covered with weeds, and its stone wall was broken down. When I saw this, I gave careful consideration to it; I received instruction from what I saw: - "A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to relax, and your poverty will come like a bandit, and your need like an armed robber." Pro.20:4, 24:30-34

Many people despise the grace of God.

How do you tell they don't want responsibility though?
You talk to them. Again, not all, but many only want help if they don't have to help themselves. Many don't want to be confined to any type of regimenp.

Even lack of sleep can drive a person to appear insane, especially after months and years. One guy I heard of who everyone thought was Mentally Ill, wasn't at all, but had a urine infection from lack of water - he was always offered sandwiches and a coke or fizzy drink but no water so became temporarily insane. How could that man take on responsibility when he cant even think straight? Should he starve then like you say? Bit harsh.
It seems harsh my friend, but what did that guy do "for months and years", while he was drinking Pepsi for a living?

My friend, I'm not talking about people who don't want "certain types" of responsibility. I'm only talking about one type of responsibility, which is to support yourself if you're able bodied,

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 2Thes.3:10

My understanding is this particular teaching is for thowe within the assembly of the Body of Christ.

As for outsiders, well, we should do all we are given to be able to win them to the Body of Christ...….there is a limit , I have learned this from experience.

"There are those, ( with a conscious ) that often feel guilt and shame when approached or
witnessing a homeless individual. Having the basics of food, shelter and money and to witness
those on the street that are without, causes mixed emotions, it's a human frailty. It is disturbing
a nation that helps the world, yet neglects the problems in our own 'backyard'. Our own government
has so plundered this nation, is a disgrace, and derelict of their duties is a contributing factor
to much of the homelessness. A day of reckoning is said to be on the horizon.
Let us pray of a worthy preparation for all to partake. The end was known from the beginning."

No I am not talking about the ones that hustle that are obviously doing it for a living as they are way too organised. I am talking about the odd girl in the shop doorway always on her own, the bloke with the guitar who always seems to be on his own, that sort of thing. Those that don't hang in groups. Some of them I have talked to say they are worse off in some shelters as they get robbed themselves even of what they have.
Oh, I see!

What do you feel about walking past a homeless person? Action or no action?
How do I feel? That's a very different question than whether I take action.

I do take action: the action of prayer.

Adopting principles found in God's word to the societies we live in is a good thing.

Again, I'm not talking about people like the woman who lost her house due to rising taxes. Maybe taxes wouldn't be rising if government supported clean drinking water on Earth, instead of spending billions to find out is there's water on Mars.
